Have you heard the killing joke? (It's from one of the original Dark Knight comic books.)
There's these two guys who are in an asylum, and one day they decide they don't want to be in the asylum anymore, so they escape and they're running across rooftops. They get to one where the gap is just a bit wider, but just across that gap is freedom. The one guy jumps across no problem, but the other guy doesn't think he can make it.
So the guy that jumped says that he has an idea and pulls out a flashlight he says "I'll shine the light across the gap, and you can just walk across"
The other guy says "What!!! No way, what do you think I am, CRAZY? You'll just turn off the light when I'm halfway across."
