mini idea:
Castle in the Mist
You wake up in some strange room, no idea where you are, why you are, or even who you are; Your outfit is very bland, gray pants that fit comfortably, they don't seem very strong but for now will do, a shirt, the same shade and material, it buttons up in the front and is cuffed at the wrist; Under it a white teeshirt, heavy duty, the breast pocket monogrammed with your name, the only thing you know about yourself, stitched to your shirt; Shoes are the only thing you are missing, though you may find some in the castle around you. Near you in the room is an object that doesn't fit with everything else, whether it just doesn't belong, or it isn't perfectly placed, however it is you know this item is important and you should bring it with you.
Should you explore the area you would find yourself in a large, fully furnished but otherwise empty castle, outside all the windows and balconies, and even the front door, is a shear drop into an all encompassing white fog. There seems to be no land holding up this building yet it is obviously not falling. It is a truly massive estate, you could wander for days and not pass the same room twice; In some areas the rooms have been taken over by the fog, something deep inside you says not to go in these areas.
You are not alone, though some of your house mates will make you wish you were; They have the exact same conditions, same clothes except the monogram.
the plot is to find out what is going on, if you can. More later.

Other than fellow humans of questionable intent the castle is inhabited by a short list of nasty buggers, including what appear to be territorial tribes of small monkeys, made out of darkness; At most two feet tall with heads not much bigger than a fist, they travel in packs of seven, always seven, and huddle around shadows when at peace. Their skin is a dark shade of blue and brown with a wispy layer of hair, densest on the arms and back it gives them a ghostly air. These shadow monkeys stick mostly to the inner rooms, far from the fog.
--
The item you start with at first seems to just be an item, but over time you become more aware of it's power.

The castle is ancient but well kept, covers of dust are rare at best and more often because of destruction in the area than time. It is huge, not just a fortress at the middle of a town, the kind of castle a great king would have built as a monument to the greatness of his people, massive to all dimensions stone construction will allow. Seen from above it is like a bird, a long oval as the court yard, large enough to fit a large village comfortably; To ether side jut out long wings, they are solid and as tall as the walls of the oval and sweeping towards the rear of the castle, sliming towards the end; In the front, between the wings, an almost cathedral like structure is placed, it guards the gates and houses the machines of war, the primary structure is square, almost twice as tall as the walls, but many of the upper levels are open to the air and stocked with massive crossbows as well as strange flying machines that look more likely to fall apart than float; A wide spiral stair case goes from above the entrance tunnel to the top most floor, on the front two corners large turrets tower insanely above everything, their peaks lost in the mist, inside each a thin staircase winds around the inside with no guard rail between your next step and falling to the ground so far below.
The wall itself is thick enough to have two rooms and a central corridor between the inside and the outside walls, these rooms range from storage to armories, to elaborate living quarters.

unknown facts Existence is composed of four planes, arranged as three spheres (sorta) within a fourth, less defined void. This void is 'Limbo' so to speak, the place between where lost things go to be found. The central sphere inside Limbo is Earth, the two other are heaven and hell. Unlike conventional Christian understanding God is not the highest power in the universe, nor is Lucifer; In fact the mind of Limbo is, it is not truly sentient, rather like an animal and a peaceful one at that. The castle is something that was lost, sent to float in the void until it's existence degenerated into the mist but the mind of Limbo attached to it, became it, choosing the castle as it's own vision of itself, so the castle stays. When someone dies on earth, before their soul goes to heaven or hell, it passes through Limbo to be judged, some people are held back by their own reasons, over time these people begin to degrade, as any object does, it takes eons to disappear completely but over time they begin to lose parts of themselves and their body becomes less solid, turning them into 'ghosts' that wander the castle almost aimlessly. These ghosts are often mad and entranced by their own delusions. The barrier between Limbo and the afterlives is like a net, the weaker beings can slip through freely but the more powerful and intelligent are held back Some time ago a demon escaped from hell into Limbo, known as the manipulator, he is strong in many ways and has a plan, an evil plan. He intends to take control of Limbo, creating a kingdom greater than heaven or hell, overshadowing god. It is almost not needed to say that God does not like this plan, nether does Lucifer, but that barrier effects them as well, blocking them from effecting Limbo, essentially protecting Manipulator from both their powers. The only solution was to trap a group of souls there, influence them as best as able, get them to fight Manipulator. The conversation (Jikial=Jikial Avargrra=me) And have a monuement to her lets make it work before we cover it in ads so limbo is the space outside of earth but between heaven and hell the castle is it's current choosen personification it's alive in ways, and somewhat conscious, sorta like a whale it's smart, but not too smart like a whale the manipulator escaped hell and is trying to take control of limbo Like cake on tuesdays it is also completely pointless since limbo is the gateway out of earth controlling it would block off all other powers so god is also not 'all' powerful keep going god and lucifer trapped some souls on limbo so they can fight the manipulator, and thats who the characters are angels appear as one form of ghost, more minded but shorter lived, to help direct the souls sent by god souls that have been trapped there for eons for their own reason appear as a second type of ghost, almost mindless and hard to understand, but lasting lesser demons from hell have been leaking into limbo for a long time, they attempt to pull stranded souls into hell hoping for reward imps they are more attracted to god's souls The souls that are fading away could be in utter madness and some could be a threat more powerful demons are unable to cross the boarder and act as the angels do and influence lucifer's souls all this thinking is making me dizy god wants limbo to remain undisturbed but lucifer wants to control it for himself so his souls are more violent, possibly mad yes, some of the ghost souls would be mad, but others would be bumbling, but after degrading so much their ability to effect stuff is diminished biggrin <3 Yay spiffy profile! also, the items granted to lucifer's souls are more malicious than those of god's but the souls don't know they're souls in limboo or who they're fighting for right Lucifer could have a nice guy God could have a sadist lucifer isn't directly evil he's against god a liberal pro freedom But both God and the devil are working together But both for different causes yes lol Devil thinks he's working for himself actually so in the end the souls will be turned against each other probably the souls will divide somewhere in the end of the begining no no, you want that to be the last battle there will be a last battle and it will be between them but they will split long before but by fate they could split into groups that have the right warriors in them So they're not hostile should they meet in the castle afterward but they're stil together you also want an "odd one out" the one who's working for neither side, but is there an original demon someone who's there of their own reasons, but the timing is perfect enough that they think they're the same as the rest Yeah the thing manipulator needs to control limbo That could be me But still of his own free will That person would be the ultimate deciding factor in the position of limbo and limbo should always stay neutral of course But still That one person could choose to side with either God, the DEvil, or the Manipulator And that would decide who gets power over limbo siding with god would be a vote for keeping the natural order lucifer would be for him getting control and the manipulator for him getting control but what nether of those dudes tells this guy is that if he chooses them, he dies God would be the natural choice, so the character should be iffy in his positions leading towards no side at any one point and time and maybe having ambitions to take over limbo himself but none of this would become clear enough till fairly deep in the story Exactly this is gonna be so fricken awesome But he could get in a fight with one of the groups brb It's so awesome she has to use the bathroom pretty much

To help understand where people are in the castle something like this will be used, put at the bottom right hand corner of every post main area;more specific;room title:Location and example: Castle;Right Wing;Bedroom:Location Should it be that you don't know where you are this shall be done Unknown;Dungeon:Location Castle;Right Wing;Bedroom razz revious why have castle as the main area? because the town inside the castle is separate and has it's own areas

one of the major points of this RP is that the only thing about your character that you can put in the character sheet is the physical description and your item; we all start with the same outfit, and nothing else, your character's personality is only defined by the way you have it act, and that can be totally different than how they acted before they came here.
This forces people to push themselves to the absolute best they can visually design a character, then play them realistically, developing the character as we go instead of writing up some few paragraphs that pathetically attempt to explain it in simple terms.
as such this could be considered a learning activity but I would really prefer it considered a practice activity, I will be expecting an extra high level of skill, and something I rarely do, examples of past work

The Titans
Before God or Lucifer, heaven or hell, and even before earth, when all that was was Limbo, four 'aspects' condensed from the energies of the void, the Titans, Earth, Fire, Light, and Life, after a time their drift through the void grew boring and they pooled their energies to form a world, Earth, only by chance did it gain the same name as the Titan. For a time the Titans roamed the earth, eventually man kind was born and for a time the Titans were thought of as gods, but man moved on to newer things, and the Titans lost their home on Earth to new gods inadvertently created by the minds of humans; The Titans returned to Limbo with out argument.
Their form is fairly simple, generally humanoid but not actually limited to that form in any way, just lost this train of thought, so anyways, the Titans are like the guardians or watchers of the castle, they don't like to get involved but with the Manipulator such a threat they might.

I've been pretty off for a while now but I think my gears have managed to engage, currently I'm focusing on Castle in the Mist which I think I'm not going to make into an RP, and Blood Red, which never was going to be an RP, and might revert to it's original name, Caliber, maybe.
Blood Red is a complex and growing story about s**t hitting the fan, basically. It's the tale of a widowed mother whose daughter is dieing, when a crippled god from another dimension offers to save the daughter, little does anyone know that she is more a god than him, or that he is being chased by the fading yet powerful remnants of the civilization that once worshiped his kind. It takes place over many hundreds of years and many planets.

Right now I'm not making anything new, just trying to get back into the old things that already started, and keep up my new RP Saint Huevos, a revisioning of one of my first freeworld RPs, noobtropolis .
So last night I was trying to sleep and something happened on TV and I was inspired with a new story, Eight Shy.
In Eight Shy there is a legend that says long ago the world was ruled by fifty demons, 40 minor demons and 10 demon kings, at some point the humans rose against the demons and in a great war killed a bunch of them, all except 8, but those 8 disappeared and were assumed dead, now it's 1982, and some of the surviving demon kings are getting tired of living like humans, others are perfectly content. I don't have much this far but I do know one of the kings has taken up a life as mythology professor at some major college in america, this is where most of the human characters come from.

The Crystals of Gnācia
I'm having trouble writing it as it would be like I do for most so here's the idea, Gnācia, henceforth written as Gnacia is a country, kingdom of sorts, old european fantasy style with horses and farmers and whatnot was might be a better word. In the beginning of the story the king is going through his rituals and whatnot, some big important religious night is coming up and the whole country is in celebration, and then the king gets killed. Normally that would be it, the next in line would take command and most people wouldn't know the difference, but instead the crap hit the fan, the king exploded or something like it, maybe he projected energy into the sky and it shot off all over the place, however it looked these crystals were strewn over the whole kingdom. These crystals are like little magical batteries, each charged with their own magical abilities, and this is not a land that is used to having magic, there are some mages in the royal court but they like to keep quiet so as to seem more mystical, helps keep themselves in power.
Suddenly every tom d**k and harry in the world can pick up a crystal in the forest and try to take over the world. Which is pretty much what happened. Groups of people from all over formed armies powered by hundreds of crystals and moved on each other in a battle for control, and with the royals still trying too the whole country fell to pieces, towns were left on their own, communication pathways broke down, and it's only a week in, some places don't even know what's happening yet.
One such place is the town of Oiroch near the southern mountains, this is where the game starts. Not many crystals landed that far south, so they only saw the lights of it, it wasn't harvest season so they weren't doing much business with other towns, the traders were oddly absent but nobody thought anything of it. Then a stranger was found stumbling through the forest, wounded, disoriented, scared, and carrying a bag of crystals.
It starts out with the local conflict, who to trust, what's to be done, some of the kids (17-25yrs) steal the crystals and mess around with them a little, eventually they get caught and eventually the decision is made to send a party out to see what's going on, and then the adventure begins, they get involved in fights and battles and maybe save the kingdom

I just remembered one of the other ideas me and Jikial sat about brainstorming; though I don't remember some of it, among which is what we called it, most of the characters, and what we called them, but I still have the basis
Once upon a time there was a great warrior, one of the greatest if not the greatest in his kingdom, which also happened to be the greatest kingdom in the land. So this guy was pretty great to say the least. As often does another kingdom rose to do battle with the great kingdom, lead by the great warrior, the difference is that both of the greats fell, and not like poland fell, they were massacred . The kingdom was utterly destroyed, people and all; the lone survivor was our now not so great warrior who was defeated with such power that he barely survived, losing most of his body in the process, to say nothing of his mind. Now reduced to a broken slab of meat the victors locked him away, providing only enough care to stave off death and prolong his suffering.
Decades pass, the warrior grows old, the world moves on, the victorious kingdom grows more powerful. Their military crushes all who appose, well, almost all; One group remains to stand against, and despite all the might the new kingdom has brought to bear against them not an inch has been gained. At some point someone, one of the character's I've forgotten, had an idea, a grand idea at that, and a commission was made to the greatest metal worker in the land. Soon the fallen warrior was presented with an offer, complete one task and he would be let to die. But how would he, in such a weakened state, be able to do anything he asked; to answer the greatest work of the ironsmith was unveiled, a body of steel and magic.
As per the usual adventure tragedy rules at some point he'll meet up with another survivor from his home land overtime relearns the worth of life and valor, in the end defeating the villainous kingdom that imprisoned him for so long to refound his kingdom

I'm trying to work out a superhero RP, I've got lots of characters set out but no real plot
what I do have for plot is this; there's a great power, locked away for centuries on end, guarded by a cult like brotherhood of damned souls, promised the release of Eden if they protect it till the end of days. Regardless the power is too great for it's seal and small amounts leak through, attracting life to the area around it and eventually a great city is built to honor it unknowingly
While the brotherhood sits in wait for the day they're called to battle, darkness lurks, planning their fall. Our story starts on a day where one such figure steps out of the shadow... only it's night so they're really stepping from one to the next... anyways, a great and long battle commences, the brotherhood pushed to it's limits, the dark figure pushing to within inches of breaching the seal, so close that energy rippled back from the assault and flooded the city.
By itself this energy was harmless, passing through the streets and buildings undeterred and undetected to fade into the background of the world with time; but for a few special individuals this energy wave was all that was needed to awaken their latent powers
so that's what I've got story wise, not really much of one but I imagine it would go on to these people discovering their powers and doing stuff with them, then what remains of the brotherhood trying to recruit some to help defend the seal until it and they can fully recover
Character wise most are built on 'cool sounding powers'
as the primary evil dude we have unnamed guy #1; he's spent the better part of his life (late twenties to mid thirties) paralyzed from the neck down after being struck by a genetic disease in his teens. Fortunately for him he's a genius and quickly became rich on technology, unfortunately for the world he's a greedy b*****d who blames it for his condition. Just prior to the wave he was testing a cybernetic neural replacement that could potentially let him walk again, and though there were unexpected factors it would; it would also fuse with his body. The resulting being was a force to be reckoned with, even before he reverse engineered himself and used the knowledge to construct a small army of both artificial creatures and other awakened citizens of the city enslaved by a virus like parasite developed later in the story.
Probably not an evil person, and probably male, late teens, angsty (not an orphan); snuck out for the night to hang out with one of those bad crowds and try to be cool, the whatever he was at got broken up and he was left stranded, alone, in a very bad part of town. He's a bit of a skater, a bit of a gamer, not much of a geek, a bit shy around others if he doesn't really know them and such. His power is the ability to momentarily convert his bodymass and clothes (for decency) into energy, different then but not unlike the energy wave, and moving it through space over short distances; and that's not all, the energy can be formed into blade like planes as it moves, cutting through nearly anything; the problem with that is it cuts by mutual annihilation, since he's in the form of energy at the time it's not destroying anything specific but over time it wears him down just like intense physical activity, unless he pushes too hard or far
this energy isn't specific to any power and with time and training one could potentially learn to use them all, but every person is born with and develops certain talents and weaknesses that define what they can grasp initially with anything they endeavor to do

I have decided to go on strike from all RP related things other then general chitchat and the necessary until I get off my butt and finish starting the CFD
Negotiations are scheduled for later tonight and I expect to defeat myself as usual, so this shouldn't be a long break from my usual being mostly totally uninvolved with RPing and before anybody noticed I'll once again be unnoticed
For most of you who don't know the CFD, or Coalition of Fictional Design is a sister school to the SDRP; In stead of focusing on making and playing RPs and characters the CFD centers on the things in RPs, from fashion trends to mecha, magics to architecture, species to planets.
At the moment it's not really much of anything...
Anyways, this strike is because lately I've been having a lot of ideas relating to Wrock Works, and most of the failings in these ideas would best fit in the CFD, but I haven't finished it yet so I can't go get help from there... and since I'm having all this creativity I might as well put it to some use...
