Kal's tail swished unhappily, why were there so many people trying to tell him he could be more than he was? Hadn't it always been enough to just accept his weaknesses along with his strengths? At first the little alicorn said nothing, letting his head drop. He was trying to be less cowardly, so there was no reason not to see flying in the same light. Perhaps that was just a less obvious way of being cowardly.
"I-I'm sorry, I really should be more optimistic."

"Listen, kid..." He spoke softly after looking to the little alicorn for a moment. "You're only as good as you think you are... And if you don't do anything more than put yourself down or compare yourself to others... That's all you're going to be. Maybe you're happy the way you are... It's not up to me to tell you any different... But don't let that keep your eyes closed to everything that could be."
That said he turned away from the other stallion, wings giving a slight rustle as he spread them before glancing back over his shoulder. "I wasn't always the way I am... I never thought I would be able to fly as high as I can... My wings were so big that I didn't think I would be able to use them to fly at all. I was a mutant; a freak..." He closed his eyes, tilting his head towards the sky once more. "It's up to you to figure out what you want to be... To figure out how to be the best at whatever it is that you're good at... But you'll never learn unless you spread your wings, either physically or metaphorically."
