Behemoths and King Behemoths...Nothing over FFT's Dark Behemoth, but sadly its the only game with a Dark Behemoth stare

And I don't know about them being soft either. I imagine Tonberries wouldn't be to pleasant to hug, what with the knife and that lantern of theirs. I still love them though.

I still love them though. well you gotta admit, it takes a lot onger to beat one tonberry than something else like a certain dragon.

Malboros, on the other hand, are the monsters you have to be prepared to beat. They are pretty easy if you prepare, but if you don't, they can be near impossible to beat. >.<

Personally I would have to say that the funniest monster was the Ragtime Mouse in FF8 and that wierdest was the inside out creatures in FF6 that you face when going into the cave that leads to the sunken castle in the world of chaos.

I always liked the Jumbo Cactaur, only because it would hit you with an instant death shot (10,000 needles) and it was great that every one did 10 damage and you saw them all (or with a hero/holy war, it'd be a 1000 misses).
Edit - My fav has to be Iron Man/Iron Giant only because first time I fought it in FFVII, all I thought was Black Sabbath singing Ironman. Ever since, they have been a favourite of mine.
