"I'll just have to do with what I've got" Edward said softly in responce to his brother. He wanted Winry here perhaps more than anyone. They had been friends, and she made the best automail... but it was selfish to wish her here... away from the only world she's ever known.
Edward then shook his head at Alphonse, "Not for awhile atleast. But there's always the possibility that my automail might break or need maintenance. Its artificial... it doesn't last forever." As far as growing... well.. he was still short and he'd like to think he'd grow some more.
A reassuring smile was given to Lilianna and Alphonse after Edward stopped at the door. He then turned and opened it to the room that was fashioned after the Rockbell's living room.. just as Edward had remembered it. This is where shop had been said up for dealing with his automail, the first time he had grown out of it. Entering into the room, he looked to Rikku, "Hey... I'm here."

Alphonse was quiet and attentive as he listened to Liliana's explanation. He slowly nodded at her words, humming thoughtfully by the end.
"Huh." He began, curious. "The Kitsyn person again? Ed mentioned her, too. After this I might have to pay her a visit and find out how she's able to see these things - I'd like to see it for myself, it must be really interesting." He lowered his ears again. "And besides, maybe she can tell us more about mom..."
He continued to bite through the large sweet fuji apple as he followed his brother into the next room. After finishing it, he casually tossed the core into a nearby garbage can.
"Don't worry brother," He called out, in an attempt to give him encouragement. "You'll be OK. Once it's over and the pain wears off, we can go outside and play around, huh?" He grinned, wagging his tails.

"I don't think we can. It's like you & Edward being able to perform alchemy or Daddy being a wizard. It's something she can do." Although Liliana did not say it, she wondered if perhaps the skill would pass down to Kitsyn's young if she ever found a mate and was so inclined. She ignored Tien as the kin took the core from the wastebasket and started to use it as an areal bouncy seat. "Yureshe!!!" Well.. at least the 6 inch kunkun was not pouncing and clinging to Al & asking to be pelae.
Trel waved with an odd movement from where she sat on the couch, the kyunru Keyna & her young daughter Naihm by her side. The rabbit familiar from the garden was sitting between the blue lop ears of the peacock-fae mother, dark eyes focused on Trelweny. Bright glowing blue eyes watched the alchemists enter curiously as the kyunru baby leaned into her mother's legs & wrapped her draconish tail about her back hooves & front paws. The GaiaCom Myranda stood stoically behind them, leaning against the wall with a bored & almost put-out look upon her face. They said nothing.
It was the others that responded with bright & cheerful greetings. What was it with the mechanics of this household also being the ones with the most energy (expect for Tien perhaps). "Hi!!! Oh gosh! Twin? No... younger brother. That's right. And he doesn't have the machina parts." The audio Al Behd was talking a mile a minute, swirling green eyes dancing. Also in the room and also talking though among themselves were a Voronwe Rikku, a talaye female with pastel faerie wings and a sunrise scarf to match the Rikkus, and three tattooed-faced, spike haired blonde males with black fighting gloves in sharp gray uniforms. One looked much like a human but with long orange ears with black tips, extra orange fur along his forearms, and a long lion-ish tail with a longer tuft. Another was a talaye. The last was a kitsu with the bluest eyes of the three and he was bouncing in place just before making sure he was the closest. "Yo! You psyched yet, Ed? Big day!"
Lily -face hot- met no one's eyes. Perhaps the fistfighter had not meant it how she took it but it did not matter. "Alphonse, These are our mechanics. Rikku audio & voronwe, Mirage who is a talaye, and the Zells: talaye, anthro-moomba, & I'm sure you recognize the kitsu." The batch of them grinned brightly, tails wagging. "More than we had last time."

"Yeah.. I'll be fine" Edward said with a nod to his brother, "After all... this isn't the first time. Perhaps we could do some sparring after all this, huh? Its been a long time, you know." A meaningful look was then passed in Lilianna's direction, along with a soft smile. After all... his brother wasn't the only one he wanted to spend some time with.
As they entered, Edward grinned pleasantly to everyone around, although his ears flattened out to the sides. He laughed lightly at the kitsu who spoke to him, "Big is right!" he said proudly due to the fact that he'd grown much bigger. He might still be small.. but atleast he'd finally grown! But still... the alchemist sweatdropped as he realized how many were about when Lily mentioned there were more than last time.
"Eh... did they all really have to come? I feel like a spectacle" muttered Edward, his voice only loud enough for those in very close proximity of him to hear.. atleast audibly. There were many psychics about and being the emotional one that Ed is... he is always like an open book to them. The newly grown adult feeling a bit flustered with such an audience.

Alphonse nodded as his attention was turned to the mechanics that Liliana spoke of. "Hi," He grinned at them. He turned his attention back to Liliana, scratching the side of his head. "Do they make automail as good as Winry? I really hope that they know what they're doing. It can be dangerous to attach sometimes, I hear."
He grinned at his brother's suggestion. "Mmm, sparring sounds like a good idea, brother. Just don't hit me too hard with your automail limbs. I'm not eight feet high any more, nor am I a suit of armour. If you got a punch through with one of those metal limbs, you're sure to leave a few good bruises."
His grin faded again as he watched his brother's gaze turn to Liliana. Finally, he flicked an ear back in his unhappiness. He'd seen them exchange little gestures like this a number of times now, and it made him feel strange and awkward.
"Wh..." He was hesitant and his tone was timid. His heartrate increased with his general feeling of unease. "What's going on with you guys?"

Liliana did not miss Edward's loo, smiling as she shyly averted her gaze. One of ten blood-kin siblings & living with an even larger 'family' of sorts she understood the need for family bonding. Better now after having been gone from them a while than she had before. So they would have to wait to see where the looks and touches they had started to share upon their adventure would lead. They had waited this long... somehow she would wait longer. Edward needed his brother. Besides... she would like to see them spar. Even with the chance it might make the waiting for the fullmetal all the harder.
Zell kitsu looked confused and Rikku blinked at Ed's soft words. Liilana gave him a pained look, seeming to understand and wishing it could be some other way. "Not everyone's left yet." Blonde head bobbed at the mechanics. "Many hands, paws, hooves whatever quick work yadda yadda and all that. And I need the 'paths!! I've only hooked the things up once... I can't remember that!! I don't want to vilg it up!" The audio was worried, but not yet panicky. Her swirling green gaze went from Ed to his brother in explanation & entreaty. she indicated a kit-sized pir of automail limbs. "They're not as good as the first ones, not quite. They're close... but there's things there I can't figure out from the books and mixing in the nerve stuff is like no machina I've ever seen! I'm not about to use Ed to experiment to learn the things I don't know. Trel's the one that can pull his body memory out & feed it to me. However it is she does it."
"We're just here to keep her focused." Peter said with an easy grin. "Because Trel's too damn stubborn to take down her walls so that she'd be able to do it on her own." The GaiaCom interjected darkly, though when she looked at the human there was a softness in her aquamarine eyes. Nodding, Keyna closed her brown doe eyes and rested her cheek upon the human's knee.
"Perhaps..." Liliana beseeched the other mechanics. "Are you all needed still?" "Naw. We did our part. C'mon guys." Kitsu Zell waved the others out. "Lemmie know how it goes this time, Rikku!" Mirage called as she trotted out the door. "You'n'me can spar while the bros are, k' Lily?" Remus' eldest daughter nodded with a grin after her 'instructor'. Zell could be merciless when it came to training. "Better?" She asked Ed softly, her body lightly touching his to offer emotional support. She suspected it was the telepaths that really bothered him, but they would be too focussed on their task to pick up anything more than normal from him.

Lilianna wouldn't have to wait long, not if Edward had anything to say about it. But really... he tried to keep that stuff out of his mind at the moment... especially with all those psychicly inclined about. Although, he probably wasn't doing a very good job of it. Edward laughed at his brother, "That's true.. I guess I'll just have to go easy on ya" he said back in a teasing voice. Although his ears twitched at Alphonse's question, "... Nothing!" Cough. Although he kept wondering about Alphonse's reactions... he thought that of all people, his brother would be happy for him. But well.. Edward wasn't blind, he could tell something was bothering Alphonse.
The blonde alchemist seemed to relax a bit more as some in the room, left. An appreciative nod and smile given to Lilianna, "Yeah.. thanks." Rikku's explanations brought another chuckle from Ed, "Hey.. atleast you don't threaten me within an inch of my life when I bang it up." Pulling off his coat and overshirt, Ed looked at the arm that had been through quite a lot. It had its fair share of dings and scratches. "C'mon.. lets get this over with."

He gave his brother a weak grin. "Before we do that, you need to get your automail fixed, first."
"Nothing, huh?" He lowered his gaze to the floor, and the grin was gone from his face again now. Alphonse wasn't sure what he was more unhappy with now - the fact that something was up in the first place, or the fact that his own brother was keeping it from him.
The young Alchemist's expression was soured as he moved away again, letting the others work have their space to on Edward's automail. He didn't want to get in their as they worked - he'd watched Winry work on that stuff more than a few times, and it seemed like hard work alone. Certainly taxing enough without somebody getting in the way and being a hazard.
He sat on the floor nearby the door, curling his tails around himself, putting his head down on his paws. He released a heavy sigh as he turned his attention up, watching his brother and the ones who were to work on him. Alphonse had been a suit of armour for so long, it was strange feeling all these emotions stirring within him again after them having been quietened for so long.
Burnt-golden eyes were attentive to the scene as they watched that red-furred female and his brother get close again. Was she... what was she doing to him now? Alphonse pinned his ears back now, flattening them low against his skull.
And promptly glowered.

Wait... had Alphonse asked about 'them'? Gold tipped ears fell achingly against her head as Ed fielded the question -it was his to answer anyway- a cold lump closing in amid her chest. Nothing? There was nothing going on with them? Why would Edward say that? Was he... ashamed of her?
No... that was silly. Of course he was not. Still... it hurt. Perhaps he was embarrassed to let Alphonse know... but why? Al would be happy for them, right? Liliana glanced his way and caught the glower, wincing beneath it. Oh no. Al hated her. Quickly she bit back the whimper that threatened to escape. Lily could not let Ed down. She brought forth a smile, touched her nose to his cheek and backed up & out of the way. Drawing her courage around her Liliana padded over to sit beside Alphonse. Her tails curled around her paws, protective & comforting. She had been not quite yet asleep on the floor beside the couch last time. Somehow... well she did not want to upset Alphonse any more.
It was a good thing they were down to the telepaths, Myranda, & Rikku.
Speaking of which, the Al Bhed blinked. "Whyever would I threaten you if you banged it up? That's silly." Laughing Rikku stepped forward to removed the old automail appendages & set it aside before coming back with the new and setting it in easy access. Trelweny's eyes took on a glazed look, the kyunru & rabbit looking distracted but clearly focused on the human. *Ready.* Trel's clear soprano mental voice echoed around the room, gentle soothing tendrils of calming touching everyone as her empathy started to kick in automatically. It dimmed but did not disappear as the others brought her to bear. Rikku held up the new foreleg. "Ready?"
I wish I could take some of the pain for you, Edward... Maybe... Maybe Ed had said it was nothing to not worry Alphonse? Goodness. Liliana had to stop thinking about it.

Sometimes it sure would be nice if others would speak their minds instead of bottling it up. Edward spoke his mind far too often sometimes... but he seemed to catch onto Lilianna and Al's feelings and sighed heavily. Although his eyes softened as Lily joined Al... and Ed caught his glower, ears laying back on his head. "Don't be like that Al... this just isn't the time to talk about it." He hadn't meant to belittle his relationship with Lilianna either, its just as he said.
When Rikku approached him and removed his old piece of automail, also bringing the new.. he nodded. He was as ready as he would ever be. Although he did notice that Rikku would have to go about it one at a time, which had never been done before when concerning both pieces. Usually both were put on at once to minimize stress. However, he was determined to get through it.
Edward felt the soothing calm that eminated from Trelweny, but that didn't stop his body from tensing up a little bit as he braced himself.

Alphonse lifted his head slightly, burnt-golden eyes focussing on his brother. "Right... I'm sure it isn't..." He stated glumly. "Sorry, brother." With that, he lowered his head again, resting his chin on his paws once more. Despite the fact he knew now that his brother would probably talk about it, it didn't make him feel any happier, that was for sure.
As Liliana moved to sit beside him, the youth tensed slightly. Though why he did that, not even he knew, really. Was he wary of her? No, that wasn't it... Though, he had seen her get close to his brother an awful lot. Part of him wanted to shove her away every time he saw her do it.
He found himself looking up at her despite how he felt right now, taking in her appearance. She was certainly interesting to look at... the red fur was a nice colour, and similar to his own coat. Her wings were interesting too, a nice brown colour, with bits of gold in the feathers, somewhat like his own. He remembered the comment from the rabbit that maybe she could teach him to fly later. That would certainly be nice...
She didn't seem like a bad sort, really. She seemed friendly, approachable, and kind, even. But - he didn't know her. At all.
Realizing that he was probably staring at her longer than he should have, the youth made a slight huffy noise and turned his attention towards the nearest window. He was edgy, and impatient - he wanted that explanation right now. However, his brother had indicated it would, so it would. He wouldn't do anything else but wait for now. Kicking up a fuss would be silly, and besides, he wasn't that brash.

Not the time. Of course. Just like she had bit down on on her response to the 'nothing' comment not wanting to overreact or upset Edward before this process. Tails relaxing ever so slightly Liliana flashed a smile at Edward, then turned and offered a more shy one to his brother. She missed Al looking at her and sighed softly that his golden-brown gaze was intent on the window. They both loved Ed so much... they just had to become friends!
As if called -and quite likely ha had been from the confused look in his hazel-blue eyes- the moomba anthro Zell returned picking up the back leg and nodding at Rikku. Trelweny gave the fullmetal kitsu a dazed smile that held the shadow of a wink. Guided by the latent Talent's connection the two moved as one to attach both appendages at once.
Liliana gave the barest of whimpers as the automail was attached, her petite body showing more of her sympathy & internal ache than she voiced. Oh why did it have to hurt him so?

Well they had already upset him a little, his mind buzzing with questions and wondering why Al was acting the way he was. Lilianna's smile was reassuring, as well as distracting.. he didn't even see Zell approach until the automail was connected.
There was a good reason why he hated this part. With machine connecting to living nerves... it was like fire and lightning coursing through his body from both ends and back. An agonized scream involuntarily errupted from Edward's throat. Although something wasn't quite right... and in the back of his mind he recalled why Winry always had him sit in a chair for this part... aside the fact that it was hard to stand with just one leg.
Edward hit the floor, but the nerve endings all over his body continued to fire from the over stimulation. Causing him to go into something like a seizure. Jaw snapped shut and locked, eyes wide with the immense pain... however those golden orbs rolled back in his head and the fullmetal passed out. Seeing nothing but darkness.

Alphonse flinched hard in sympathy as he heard that scream... A loud concerned whimper promptly escaped him, and his attention immediately returned back to his brother the instant it was sounded out.
"Brother!!" He called out, immensely worried. "Are you OK?" Alphonse was used to seeing automail being connected and never personally enjoyed to watch even if he knew very well that no harm would come of it. But what he saw next downright alarmed the youth - he had never seen his brother spasm and fall off the furniture before. His brother was brave and strong, he wasn't supposed to pass out like that!
Alphonse was quick to his feet and bolted to his brother's side, reaching out to hug him for a moment, shaking him shortly after.
"Wake up!" He yelped. The young alchemist continued to lightly shake his brother, desperate for him to wake up again. "Automail's not supposed to do that..." He stated finally, his voice breaking up slightly with his upset.

"Edward!" Shock, fear, worry & the undeniable sense that something had gone terribly wrong kept the winged female from rushing as quick as Al did to the fullmetal's side. Reaching the other side of him, whimpering, Liliana touched her body to Ed's and a soft light emanated from her until it enveloped them both. Tears rolled continually down her cheeks, sweet & endearing words tumbling almost inaudibly from her mouth to the unconscious kitsu's ear.
Trelweny's face was strained and ashen, Myranda suddenly gripping the woman's bare shoulders to support her. If ever the GaiaCom looked concerned this was it. Simultaneously Rikku & Zell's eyes widened. "Damn!" "Vilg! Oh Fayths!! Vilg!" The audio Al Behd went into a string of rapid talk in her native language as she tried to see what was wrong. Meanwhile Liliana screamed out shrilly but at the same time quite weak "His nerves are shot!"
The telepaths shared the mental equivalent of a glance even as Rikku winced with the realization of what that meant, darting to the tool bench to get what she needed. "Vilg! That's it! I had it up too high! I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" She continued her apologies, how she could never be forgiven, how it was terrible of her to overlook something so important sounding as if she was about to cry yet also as if the only reason tears were not filling her swirling green eyes was because she would need them to make the adjustment.
A soft pop and a chocolate furred kitsu with a red and gold scarf appeared looking alarmed and frazzled from the call sounded in his head. "Ed!" Hemi stepped nearer one he considered a brother, ready to heal as best he could. Zell stepped back, quickly getting out of everyone's way. From atop the kitsu healer-wizard's head a small white & pink cit opened her blue within blue eyes and looked at Alphonse intently. "We must hurry to be fixing the mate of Liliana like the bush outside. Not broken... overstimulated. Turn it down!!" Rikku hearing the near panic in the voice of the unusually calm gardener paused a millisecond then hurried to make the appropriate adjustments.
