"Basically the spar system is anyone that wants to can go to one of the ten sparring rooms in the gym. Five are like dojos and have padded floors for basic combat. The other five have different types of fields in them. I am currently creating a powerful easy to grow catalyst. I've been working in the greenhouse a lot lately, but all my formulas are written in here. I'ts been alot of hard work." he looked hard at every detail of the new comer. Everything about him spoke of money, from his clothes to his luggage. There was a loud bang outside as one of the guards fired off his shotgun.

"Everyone! Get down!" he yelled as he threw himself to the floor.

As the explosion echoed through the building Dalton dove into his room in a swift motion, hitting the floor a little too hard. He rolled and instantly slammed his hand on his suitcase making a thick wall of ice around his door. “ Damn it!! What the hell was that? Who fires a shotgun around a school?” the thoughts raced through his head as another shot vibrated from out side the door.

The loud boom sent a rather upsetting vibration which made the outline, in her head, of the room shake. But she did Vanyel said, she sunk to the floor covering her head with her hands. The boom rang subtly now in her snesitive ears and she'd lost her barring. Nothing seemed to be stable in her mind. And she didn't want to risk moving her hands from her head to find her clicker to send an outward rhythm. She sat curled up on her dorm room floor, feeling truly blind for the first time in years. 'what on earth just happened?' she asked herself her eyes wide open staring off blankly towards the wall.

Vanyel swore as another shot rang out, the noise reverberating through the corridors. He quickly moved to the window and threw it open. Pulling the white glove off of his left arm, he used a special trick that he kept for emergencies such as this. He snapped his fingers and sent the blast of flame at the trigger happy mercenary. Vanyel was rewarded with a scream of agony and confusion as he ducked back down after closing the window.

"This is why I hate those guards, they fire their alchemy enhanced shotguns at anything that moves." as he slipped the glove back over his automail arm he said, "That was a trick that Roy Mustang taught me. You see, my mother added some flint the tip of my middle finger, so when I snap my fingers," he said demonstrating, "the steel and flint cause a spark which I then transmute with the surrounding oxygen, which causes the blast that I used."

As Vanyel explained all of this to Sonja, a girl ran full speed down the hallway towards them. Once in a while she would look back over her shoulder.
she was a very tall girl, who looked to be seventeen. She was wearing a uniform that must have come from her previous school. At the moment her face was bright red and her long, brown hair put up in a pony-tail trailed behind her.
"Why are they shooting at me?!" she cried as she continued sprinting.

Vanyel once again throw off his glove and then turned on his heel and chased after the girl.

"That was you they're shooting at?" he asked as he chased after her. Clapping his hands together he put his palms against the wall, creating a barrier that would at least slow them down.

"Did you go near one of the abandoned buildings? They get kinda touchy if you do that you know." he said to her.

Hana saw the barrier and skidded to a stop. She turned on her heals to face Vanyel.
"I didn't know they were off limits! I swear!" There were tears at the corner of her eyes. "I didn't have to be shot at! I just didn't know!"

"You don't need to tell me that." Van said as he prepared for his next move which would require split second timing. Placing his right hand on the new wall, he used his alchemy to make it disappear while with his left he snapped his fingers. The blast hit its target dead on. The foolish guard screamed as he was engulfed in the destructive fire.

"Well, that settles that then, I suppose." Vanyel turned to the near crying girl. "Are you ok? It doesn't look like any of the shots hit you. Hey, I don't think I've seen you around here before, what's your name?"

((Oh! Forgot to ask, is this anime- or manga-based? ^^ Oh, wait, I just realised I made a booboo... -smacks self in the forehead- Haha, I signed my form with a made-up name. Right. Can you change that to Taywen, possibly, TwoDou? Thanks.))

Llevyr scowled, trying to ignore her father's pointed staring as they rode silently in the cab he'd rented upon their arrival at Central. He'd been trying to get her to speak for almost twenty minutes now, but she refused to even acknowledge him, distracting herself by wondering what the school would be like. She'd gotten in on a scholarship, so didn't have high expectations status-wise, but she secretly hoped she would make one or two friends along the way, despite what she might say or do.

Her burgundy eyes were reflected back at her from the cool pane of glass as she stared out the window, idly rubbing her palms together. She'd gotten the tattoos several months ago, before Mr. Kimbley, her tutor, had died, but they still itched a little. Trying to take her mind away from the anxiety that was slowly creeping in, she separated her palms and stared down at the lovely circles permanently stained in red and black ink there. She traced one lovingly with a forefinger, wondering if she would get the chance to use them here, but not quite sure if she really wanted to or not.

From the seat beside her, Llevyr's father cleared his throat anxiously. The girl winced inwardly, mentally bracing herself for some sort of 'talk', whether it be on the subject of how she should behave about her teachers/fellow students or something more embarrassing - she still bore mental scars from his talk about the birds and the bees. They hadn't spoken for several days after that particular conversation. Oh God, I hope he doesn't decide to revisit that topic again, she thought, casting a nervous glance from the window the driver sitting silently in front of them.

"Now, Llevyr..." he began in what he no doubt believed to be a grave and meaningful tone. She rolled her eyes and looked back out the window.

"You know how I would expect you to behave around the other people at this school, and all I really have to say is, if you wouldn't do it at home..." He trailed off, apparently coming to the conclusion that the 'don't do it here' would be futile; she would probably do worse things at home than amongst strangers. He cleared his throat and began again, "Just... don't get kicked out or anything."

Llevyr scowled at her reflection, on the verge of snapping, 'Yeah, right, I'm not about to drop out and return to Dublith!' but managed to bite her tongue; she did have some pride (rather a lot, actually) and said nothing, resorting to giving him a scathing glance before turning away. "Sure thing, dad," she drawled sarcastically instead, looking for his reaction in the reflection - a flash of annoyance crossed his face, and he seemed about to say something back, but at that moment they pulled into view of the school.

The two fell into an awed silence as they observed the steadily-growing building. As they drew nearer, the driver coughed politely and told her father how much the drive would cost. Llevyr smiled sardonically at the expression of shock on his face, and she could hear him attempting to haggle with the poor driver as she stepped out of the car.

It certainly was impressive. She tried not to look like an idiotic country bumpkin and clamped her mouth firmly shut, not looking up at the massive building as she walked to the back of the car and removed her bag from the trunk of the cab - it seemed so small, and Llevyr felt a twinge of embarrassment as she pulled it out; she felt the emotion so seldom, for she was rarely self-conscious, and it took her several moments to identify the feeling. Shaking it off, she slammed the trunk shut, trying to resist the urge to blow it up, managing to convince herself that she didn't have any materials necessary to create a bomb.

"Bye, dad," she said dryly, giving him a half-hearted wave before stepping inside the school. There seemed to be some sort of emotion coming from the back of the school. (Ha, attempting to join you, hope you don't mind!) Someone was screaming, seemingly in pain, so she decided to go see what was happening. Shouldering her bag, Llevyr hurried off in the direction of the sound, soon coming upon two older kids, a boy and girl. She stayed several feet away, unsure of what to do.

Sonja was still covering her head as the conversation continued, 'they were shooting at her?!' she yelled in her head. 'It's insane, is this what city life is like?' she continued to ask herself, finally the outlines of the room stopped shaking and she gained back her audio-sight of the room. Slowly and cautiously she pushed herself up to a sitting position and brought her hands to her side. Sonja wasn't the violent type, it's why she studied in medical science. Since she had arrived she had heard about sparring grounds, where people actually fought, explosions, which were apparently quite normal, and then what, power hungry guards. 'What idiot gave them weapons like that?' she muttered to herself. and chanced a glance at the open window, not as though she could see anything, she was just peering in the direction of the blasts. Was everyone here strong, use to these types of things? Sonja knew alchemy took stength and energy, but she never gained strength by fighting, she attained by working out in the field with her father, or helping in the coal mines, she didn't know anything about fighting besides when you hit with your hand it was called a punch and if you hit with your foot it was called a kick. As another voice came around she tried to follow all the sounds but she was still getting over the last boom finding it difficult, she kept her spot on the floor and brought her hand up to her forehead, "More voices." She sighed under her breath.

Satisfied that the explosions had stopped he set his hand on the wall he transmuted the water and oxygen back into the air. Listening at the door the sounds of the fight were dieing down. Slowly opening the door the hall was a mess one wall had signs of a transmutation as well. Taking in his surroundings Dalton realized that the girl from across the hall was on the ground. Sprinting over to her body he wasn’t sure what to do. “ Are you ok?? Are you hurt?

"What?" was the first thing she said in response. She had heard the boy speaking, but hadn't exactly heard what he had said, finally coming to her senses she figured out the words to the previous question. "Yeah I'm ok." she mumbled. She listened for a second but still didn't feel confident enough about where she was to stand up quite yet. "Are they done shooting, now?" she asked turning her gaze over towards the window and quickly turning back.

" Ya, i think they are done shooting, but if they are not ill protect you im quite skilled and would never let thme hurt a lady. he said kindly. In all actualalty he wasn't sure and was more worried then he let on. Looking down on her she was quite pretty, and he knew she couldnt preform alchemy, at least not that well. "hey if you ever would like help with your alchemy I'd be glad to help you out," he said enthusiastically, " I over heard you talking about how your trying to cure heart disease and thats really amazing." looking around the room the realization hit him, " Where is Vanyel, wasn't she with you?"

"Oh, well thank you." Sonja said politely, she really did hope they were done shooting. She pushed her hand into her pocket and found her clicker, She sent a few low clicks from the device and listened as they steadily bounced back and they layout of the room finally steadied. She finally felt well enough to stand, pushing off from the ground she steadied her legs and got her barrings once more. She proceeded wiping the dirt off her clothes, she had just been lying on the floor after all. Even if she couldn't see the dirt, it didn't mean that other people couldn't. Once she was pretty sure there wasn't any remaining filth on her clothes she continued the conversation. "I'll be glad to accept any help you have to offer. But.." She said directing her attention to the window briefly. "I don't really believe in using alchemy for violent purposes." she said and turned her gaze back once more toward where the voice was coming from. "But you did over hear correct, I wish to use alchemy for medicinal purposes." When the question of the other boy arose she wasn't sure. There were so many outlines of people around, that she wasn't sure. He could have been any of them. "I'm not sure." She said finally after pretending to look around.
