"As an owner of two felines, and former owner of a bat...I know how to deal with curious animals."

She more she thought about it, the more she took to the idea of having a raccoon as a house pet. It would be something out of the ordinary, indeed, and they were quite a charming bunch. But, there were questions to be asked.

"How well do they get along with other animals? Also, how do they prefer to sleep? In a basket, or do they find a spot they will call their own regardless of what one tries to teach them?"

"Well, they'll sleep pretty much anywhere as long as it's comfortable. They can be trained to sleep in their own bed though. And they'll have to adjust to other pets so it might be rocky at first, but once they get used to other pets, they'll do just fine."

"So it's fine just to buy one, and not two, as the other animals will keep him or her company?"

The woman had pretty much decided to pick a nice raccoon as a pet, after asking a few more questions; what they ate, if they required anything special, if it would be smart to let the vet do a little 'job' to prevent the animal from running away in order to reproduce. Nedy shifted her weight from one foot to the other, crossing her arms under her breasts and looked at the shop owner instead of at her feet, the floor, or the wall just behind the other woman.

"If you'll wait right here for a moment, I believe I have a litter of kits that I can bring up for you to look at." There was really no need to go through the whole magic mumbojumbo ceremony spill for a raccoon. Alexiel once again disappeared behind the door and into the bowels of the shop.

((That and I just don't feel like typing all the required descriptions for the trip downstairs. ^_^''))

The kittysune nodded and busied herself watching the bunnies again while she waited, muttering softly to them as was her habit with animals, asking them questions even though they covered back in fear. Of course - she was, to them, as fox, and thus an enemy. With a sigh the little woman walked slowly over to the wall with the birds, not coming too close but just admiring them from a distance.

Alex returned moments later carrying a box with the edges of a blanket popping up out of the top. It appeared as if the blanket was moving, as if something were tugging on it. Gently, Alex set the box on the floor before the customer, and the raccoon kits inside could be seen tugging on the blanket. There was five of them and they were about a month old, weaned from their mother, and rearing to get into mischief.

Nedy smiled when she saw the little furballs tugging at the blanket of the box; they must be going stir crazy inside a small box likte that. They looked about the same, slightly different in size and colouring (some were lighter grey than others), but overall very much alike. Automatically, the kittysune tried to locate the weakest one, but they all seemed perfectly happy and playful.

"They really are cute," she said and smiled at Alexiel, looking up at the other woman's face as she said it before looking back down again. There was one she took to more than the others, for no apparent reason other than that it seemed even more curious that its siblings. "I think I would like to have this one, though."

With a gloved finger she pointed out the one she meant, brushing back her hair with the same hand before letting it fall down to her handbag again.

Alexiel nodded and picked up the kit that had been pointed out. "A fine choice. This little one appears to be the smartest of the litter. Cradling the chosen raccoon in one arm and carrying the box in the other, she moved behind the counter. Setting the box down on top, she reached under the counter and pulled out a small animal tote with a blanket inside. "This comes complimentary with the purchase of the animal." Alex set the little creature inside and closed it. Now it was time for the business part of the deal.

((*Ponders how much to charge for a raccoon.* O_o))

"Male or female?" Nedy wondered aloud and looked at the raccoon, which was currently trying to get out of the tote, but after about six failed attempts decided that the blanket was a good way to pass the time as well, thus started tugging at it before growing bored of that and simply went to sleep, half hidden under the edge of the cover.

The woman understood it was time for the business, and had never once inquired about the price; a silly thing to do, but the more she saw of the little baby the more she wanted to take it home with her. So she reached into her handbag and fished out her purse - an old fashioned one - and placed it on the counter, her left hand idly resting on top of it while she waiting for the shop owner to call the price.

((You're the shop owner ^-^ But they're not rare, and can be found pretty much anywhere so there is no need to import them - I wouldn't say they were in the same price range as, say, a normal chincilla. A normal grey one cots 122 American dollars - I'd say a raccoon would go for about 100 American dollars, maybe a bit less.))

((>_> I don't think you can even sell raccoons. XP And I think you can only own them with a special permit, at least over here. And in case you didn't know, they'll eat dog food... maybe even cat food. ^_^''))

Alexiel poked around the cash register before looking back up. "That'll be $100."

The door once again swung open, and yet...there seemed to be no one there. Well no one at the adult level anyways. Infact at that moment, a young girl wandered in at the height of 3 feet. Her shimmering eyes examined the room as she walked through it with her long Navy hair bouncing behind her. She seemed to be an average girl, besides the fact she had transparent wings behind her, which seemed to be leaving a small trail of dust.

She stopped at various shelves to attempt to view what was on them. Her height was much too small thus, making it impossible for her to view what was what. A long sad sigh left her mouth as her wings fluttered once more creating a sprinkle of dust falling as though it was light snow.

This Faye was simple one person, it was the young Melody. Her mind was only full of innocence and was never full of anything more or less. There was never a frown on her face, just wide grins and giggles about everything she would do. Finally she froze and looked at one of the shelves intently, There was something shiney on the top shelf and she wanted to play with it.

First off, She attempted to flap her wings and see if she could make it. But sadly for her, only more dust filled the room causing her to let out a high pitched sneeze. Her next attempt would be simple, to climb the other shelves. She began to examine it with her ruby red eyes. If she climbed it...She would probably end up making a mess.

"Phooey!"

Alexiel's form was hidden by the counter as she was crouched, shuffling around in the cabinents and draws in search of something. As usual, Dae (Short for Daemon) was perched beside the register, still as a statue. Alex was in a fairly good mood, considering the attack made by the undead minions earlier. It had ended in favor of Latent and her shop had been untouched. That was part of the magic of the place, it was neutral ground, no violence in the shop, for the safety of the animals of course.

Today's subject of scrutiny, as he stepped through the door with his hands folded lazily behind his head; spinning around as he did and looking around and above the door while walking backwards into the shop, just so he could get a better view of the place as he entered, was a young-looking lad with an energetic smile.

His clothes were dirty, his hair was messy, and his sleeves were rolled up to his elbows. He looked like the type of kid who might have just fallen off the back of a haywagon passing through the town; and in all likelyhood he might have.

Nevertheless, after nearly bumping into a table as he wandered backwards through the store, the boy righted himself and began to browse just as any normal customer might.

Alex didn't realize that anyone had even come in because she was too busy in her search. "Bloody hell, where did it go to?" For a moment there, she slipped back into her English accent as she cursed. What was she searching for? Who knew, it wasn't really that important anyway.

Tiem didn't disturb; he was just browsing... because as much as a cute little animal appealed, he was a drifter, and thems types of lives weren't really best suited to pets. Though that certainly didn't stop him from looking around at all the... ... ... ...

...what the bugger WERE half these things, anyways?
