Let's see... personally, a freshman trombone player didn't move his horn to the left in time while we were doing a visual, and it my trumpet.
One's that aren't personal... about 5 people fell at prelims at BOA San Antonio (one person was behind me and she dropped her mouth piece, another was a tuba player). Then there's this one time at a contest... our show was "RAIN" and it was freakin' sunny and humid for the entire thing untill the last movement when we started to play "Let the Sun Shine In" when the clouds covered the sun... then it rained when we were done.

Worst things that ever happened to me:
10th grade: We were leaving the stands and the end of the game and I tripped over a uplifted block of cement in the walkway and fell flat on my face. Luckily I kept my horn in the air. It didn't hit the ground. Good thing I was the last one out of the gate...I don't think anyone saw me.
11th grade: We marched to start the football game (I forget what it was called) and I was right in the middle of the band and the Shortest trombone player in my row. We marched to about half field and I stepped in a hole in the field and almost fell. My ankle hurt a bit so I was wobbling through the rest of the performance. It sucked and I was embarrassed. sweatdrop

My hat fell off twice. Once it was choking me so I had to subtly move it while marching or otherwise choke. The other time it fell forward and I couldn't see, so I had to do the same thing. I ended up a foot off my dot for two sets. Then there was the time I wore short socks so my ankles showed every time I marched backwards. I also rammed my mello into an alto's head because he was too far back, and my mouth started bleeding. Not to mention being hit by a floutist during a company front. That's only during the show. During practice, the situations could go on and on.

Nothing bad happened this year, thankfully. But, in my Freshman year, the woodwinds {I played flute, so yeah...} had to do guard work during the ballad, because the balled was just for the brass players. So, it was like one of the first competitions and such, and I go and get my flag, and get to my spot, and start doing my flag work. But then, the flag gets caught on the plume on my hat, and I start freaking out. Luckily, I was able to detatch it, and I caught up with the other people. I was so nervous that someone had seen me, but I never found out if they did.

The worst thing I can remember is when half the flutes went to the wrong yard line and moved to the correct year line when everyone else was still. As a flute section leader, I was mortified as I saw it happen out of the corner of my eye.

It wasn't AT a show but we were doing a run of the show at rehearsal. The flags were supposed to jazz-run through the woodwind block and one of them hit the bottom of my clarinet with her flag. It was like slow motion as it fell to the concrete (our main practice field is a portion of the parking lot). I was half crying by this point and the guard member was extremely worried because she thought she hit me. My clarinet had a huge chunk come out of the bell, but thankfully nothing else was broken. That happened two days before a competition so I had to superglue it together and it's still like that today. xD

oh dear this is pretty bad.
We were in indianapolis for the Grand National Championship this november and i'm a freshman so it's my first year. I went to the wrong set during movement two! if you look really close on ther DVD you can see it. oh well it was our best prformance at GN ever so . . . yeah.
then we were at our own compitition and we didn't specify which way we were exiting so we kind of went half and half.
half the band went one way, hald the other. it was hiliarous

Once i dropped a bass drum mallet on the field and while we were marching back in the direction of the mallet, I did this matrix looking move and picked it back up. The judges liked that move. =D

we were at contest called Tumbleweed, and one of the tuba players in my section couldn't play on his tuba because his valve was stuck, so i let him have mine and i played on his. It was the finals performance and i had a spot right in the front on the fifty yard line, and my mouthpiece with the bits fell. i was able to catch my mouthpiece, but my bits fell and got ran over by half the band, and since i am a section leader i needed to play, so i played without any bits, it was hard, and my neck hurt alot after that...lol

During Prelims at Grand Nationals this year, while I was marching, I hit a bump on the field and my Mello's mouthpiece split my upper lip wide open. Yeah, it bled a LOT.
