Laughing at Sovann's awkwardness with the native fruits that she's eaten since her childhood, she was about to help him when a familiar scent hit her nose.
Overly joyed, she ran onto a little hill of sand a few feet away and scanned the horizon, determined to find her friend.
Not really getting a good view because she suddenly felt guilty for leaving Sovann so suddenly, she quietly said; "I think it's my friend." with an adoring smile across her wild features.

A breeze ruffled Shimoyake's drying fur as he climbed over a small dune, getting a better vantage point of the kuniku he was approaching. His lips spread into a wide smile as he noticed the oh so familiar pale yellow female looking back at him. He broke out into a run- reaching the spot next to Tithe in a matter of seconds- before playfully pouncing on her, sending them both tumbling.
"Tithe! It's been far to long," he said as he got up and sat next to her in the sand. Remembering that there was someone with her, Shimoyake craned his neck to look at the white faced kuniku.
"My apologizes friend. And who might you be?"

Masao sat enjoying the sunset for a little while longer. This was a lovely beach and though it would be nice to stay here for a while, he felt the ever-constant urge to keep moving. There were so many places to see and he had already passed through this small fishing village before, Masao hoped he could talk everyone into moving on quickly.
Standing he stretched out the muscles in his back and then padded down to the waters edge. Just staring at those rolling waves made him a bit queasy. Hopefully there wouldn’t anymore boat rides in the near future. Turning to stare up along the beach he searched for the other Kuniku, but didn’t see anyone right away.
They must have moved further along. He began moving slowly along the shoreline, keeping an eye out for the others. After a moment a few figures in the distance caught his attention and he immediately began moving in that direction.

Sanyu put a paw to her mouth and giggled at Emil's wistful gaze. She inwardly wondered what was making him have such a dreamy and content expression. Was it something she'd done?
They padded through the soft sand, the sun sinking lower every minute; the flowery female spotted a glint of light partially buried.
"Oh, Apricot, look!" she pipped, picking a star shaped bit of smoothed green glass up in her paws, "Isn't it just lovely?" She sighed and squinted at it when the fading rays of the sun reflected into her seafoam eyes.
"I wish I had a place to put it..." She frowned slightly then decided to leave the trinket alone, placing it back into the sand. "Mayhaps someone else will be able to carry and admire that lovely piece of heaven."
In the distance, shadows were growing closer, but which Kuniku they were was unclear to Sanyu.

Sovann struggled to pick himself up and regain some dignity as Tithe ran to the tip of a nearby hill.
He had also noticed a new scent on the air, however it seemed to be a familiar one to the female. He wondered who it could possibly and decided to ask about it.
"Is that a childhood friend of yours Tithe? I don't seem to know them, whoever they may be..."

While grinning up at Shimoyake, she said quite upbeat, "Looks like we got some new friends on the island."
Suddenly feeling guilty for leaving Sovann, she signaled for him to come and meet Shimo. "A childhood friend indeed."

((OOC- Heehee, when I was writing the part about the little green star, I almost wrote 'little star green' because I've been working on my Spanish homework and in Spanish the adjectives go after the nouns.))
Emil walked alongside Sanyu, keeping up pace with her perfectly. 'We're really about the same height now," he thought to himself. 'I remember when she seemed so much older and bigger, but now we're not all that different, are we? I wonder if she was that much older than me to begin with.'
He noticed that Sanyu had stopped walking. He backtracked to her when he heard her call his name. "It is nice." Emil said, looking at the little green star. "How did it get here? Did it fall from the sky and crash on the beach? Is this what happens to shooting stars? Or did the ocean catch the star and send it here, to us?"
Just like Sanyu said, it really was a little piece of heaven. Like the sky had given them something; just them.
"We can't just... leave it here!" Emil exclaimed, getting caught up and way to excited as usual. "This was a gift from the heavens! You don't find this every day. Maybe... you could tie it in my scarf, then when we get back to the others, we can untie it and think of what to do with it then." Emil smiled, pleased with his idea.

((That drawing is too cute! X3 The Spanish thing used to happen to me all the time. Now I always start thinking of Spanish in Japanese class. ^^; ))
As Sanyu began to rebury the star, sadness had filled her eyes. "Too bad," she thought, "It really is just splendid..."
Suddenly Emil blurted out a fantastic idea! He could carry it. Of course! The flower's neck ornament wasn't suitable for such, but his scarf was just the thing they needed. Sanyu was so touched by his suggestion and a tearful smile spread across her face.
"I can't believe," she started, "I'm just so glad you thought of that!" She regained her normal cheerfulness and scooped the sparkling green star up out of the sand. Then she sat back and fastened the little gift securely in the cloth around Emil's neck.
"I hope that's not too chocking you," she said as she pulled the scarf as tight as possible. "I just don't want to loose our treasure." Sanyu smiled happily, then began walking at a slow pace down the beach once more.

The scarf was tied perhaps a bit too tightly, but not so much that Emil thought he needed to say anything.
"It's fine, Hana. It will definitely stay put there."
As they began to move again, he could feel the star. It was cool against his fur, and he could feel the tip dig in a little bit. He fidgeted to adjust it, then gave a little yawn.
"What do you think we should do with it? I can't really carry our treasure around like this forever."

Masao had been moving slowly towards the Kuniku shapes in the distance. Of course he wanted to reach his companions but every so often his gaze would be captured by the beautiful sunset and he would stop to watch it. No matter how many times he saw the sky covered in such vivid colors it was still such an amazing thing. In Hokkaido there were no scenes like this. The sky could be light blue or grey with snow filled clouds.
Closer now to the others Masao began to trot forward. Recognizing he two Kuniku he gave a small smile. Sanyu and Emil. He slowed to a walk. He wondered briefly what his welcome would be like. He had left rather unexpectedly after all. Those thoughts, he decided, weren’t worth worrying over. As long as he was happy by the sides of his fellow Kuniku then that was how he would remain. They didn’t have to have any strong affection for him.
“Sanyu.” Masao said warmly once he was close enough, dropping his head in greeting. “Emil.”

Emil hadn't noticed the kuniku he considered his rival approach. He had been too busy laughing with Sanyu and hadn't noticed until he had already arrived. He clenched his belly.
"Masao," he said in reply. The name had an unfamiliar taste in his mouth. Why was that? Oh, yes, he used to call him Mustard. Perhaps the tart seed had left a memory that he would forever associate with the name.
Why was it that the good, happy times he had with Sanyu were over so quickly, yet the awkward, unhappy ones that he knew he wanted to forget before they were even finished lingered on and on? He once again became conscious of the cold glass star, pressed against his beating heart. Perhaps, in that tiny glass shell, there was still a heart inside the star, beating alongside his own.
...How did Sanyu feel?

Sanyu giggled lightly and pranced onward, a spring clearly brightening her step.
"Well," she began, "I don't know what we'll end up doing with it, but at least for the moment it's with us. It's special and maybe it'll even hold our wishes and feelings with it once we're gone. That's what stars do, ri..."
Her sentence trailed away as a voice spoke ahead of them. Silently gaping for a minute, she heard Emil give a a somewhat bitter greeting.
"P-Prince!" she shouted before tumbling over him. "How've you been?"
The pink Kuniku cheerfully clapped him on the head as she straightened up, pausing to marvel at his silken brown hair. It hadn't been all that long, but Masao seemed to have an even more solemn grace about him than usual. She then turned back and sat beside Emil, quietly (but excitedly)waiting for Masao's reply.

Masao gave a deep chuckle as Sanyu bounced forward and gave him a happy pat to the head. Even though Emil’s welcome had been less than warm, he hadn’t exactly been expecting much and really didn’t mind at all. Though he was secretly glad the nickname ‘mustard’ hadn’t been used. In any case, it was Sanyu he was most glad to see. She was like a breath of fresh air.
“I have been well. I’m sorry… for leaving so suddenly. I hope you can forgive me.” He took a seat on the sand, and watched the both of them with his calm gaze.
Ooc: Nehehe! Rivals in love! –prods Emil- *.*

Sanyu listened to Masao's polite apology and nodded.
"Don't you worry your little head about it, Prince!" She smiled at her own remark and did a small turn in the sand. "I am quite sure everyone else will be glad to see you back as well. I just..." she said more seriously, "I hope you're not unhappy is all.:
She quickly glanced at Emil then whispered, "Why don't we keep our star from heaven a secret for now. You know... just for something we can share."
