Erik smiled.

"I can fix the music box easily. It lies deep in the center of the forest. The journey can be a bit dangerous, are you sure you're willing to take the risk of venturing so far?"

His eyes were twinkling, but who knew if there really was something down there. Erik was a bit eccentric, after all.

"Not that I cannot protect you from whatever we may come accross. The creatures there are my friends. Someday, they will be your friends, too."

[[ xd I see what you meant in yer PM. Yeah, Erik's a little off his rocker, but it's all the more reason to <3 him. *gigglesnort* ....yah.]]

Christine gave him a curious glance. "Certianally sounds like an adventure." She said. "Of course I'm up to it. It's you that I'm worried about having trouble walking. If you think you might need help, just tell me."

She smiled at him. "I trust you. 'One can get quite lost in here if one does not know the way... or have a guide who does.'"

Smiling broadly, Erik took Christine's hand tightly in his own and began to lead her toward the forest. Finding the path, he gave a dejected sigh.

"This place is much less magical without the music. Dreadfully dreary, actually."

Squeezing Christine's fingers, they walked past the place where the ill fated picnic had occured, and continued along a slightly overgrown path. Light flooded in from a sewer grate above, giving the illusion of sunlight, and Erik shielded his eyes, looking down at Christine with a smirk. "The sun is unusually bright today. Isn't it lovely how it filters through the tree branches?"

[ xd You know... that picnic really made me think he was whacko. 'Specially the parts where he tells Christine that she's magic, and "Magic cannot hide from me." and then when he like... attacked the deer. :3 <3 Yet it was extremely endearing. o_o ...Crraaaazy. <3<3<3]

Christine smiled and looked up at the sewer grate, squinting a bit at it. "Yes... yes, it is." She giggled a bit. "It just makes the birds seem so much happier. I think that they like getting so much sun." She nodded happily.

"Do you know how much farther it is?" She glanced around, looking for thier destination.

Chuckling softly, Erik leaned down to kiss Christine's cheek.

"Mmm, yes. I agree. It's not much farther now, I don't think..."

A shadow darted along side of them, quickly disappearing, and Erik faltered, eyes narrowing.

"Keep close, my dear."

Christine blinked at where she thought she had seen the shadow pass, and walked much closer to Erik. She glanced at him, and then looked around again for a sign of what had just been through. Seeing nothing, she continued walking.

I thought he was kidding... She thought nervously.

Holding onto Christine's hand tightly, Erik led her into a small, dreary clearing.

"Ahh, yes. Here we are..." Letting go of her hand, he walked toward a large gree. Reaching into the hole in the trunk, he pulled out a rather plain looking wooden box. Opening it up, he began to prod and move things inside carefully, a look of complete concentration on his face.

Minutes later, he carefully replaced the box in the tree and nodded to himself. The music began to play again, and with a grin, Erik turned to take Christine's hands in his own.

[[GAH. Sorry about the delay to post. sweatdrop ]]

Christine smiled as the music started again. "That's much better." She remarked. "It makes the woods so much brighter, cheerier. It just gives so much more magic to the air, right?" Leaning closer, she gently reached a hand up to touch his mask, turning his face more towards her. "And you... you are made of magic, too."

[[Yay for parroting skills. :B ]]

Giving a soft laugh, Erik cupped Christine's cheeks in his hands and leaned down to press a gentle kiss to her forehead.

"Yes, I suppose I am. Perhaps just a little, hmm?"

Withdrawing gently, he took Christine's hand and tucked it into his arm, then began to escort her back the way they came, keeping a wary eye around them.

"Ah, yes... it's much brighter now."

Christine smiled, holding onto Erik's arm tightly. She looked around warily, and, finding nothing that looked threatening, smiled even more broadly.

"You were right. The music really does give more shape." She peered through the trees, seeing nothing but plants and taxidermed animals.

Smiling broadly, Erik leaned down and kissed her forehead.

"Oh Christine, I love you so dearly..." he breathed, continuing to lead her along. "I'm so glad that you've returned to me."

Bending over, he picked a beautiful yellow flower and tucked it gently into Christine's hair, eyes twinkling.

"So beautiful..."

Christine smiled, her eyes slightly down, blushing a bit. "Thank you..." She murmured. "You really are too kind." She could smell the light perfume of the flower. She looked up. "So... if I may ask... what is in the forest, living here...? I heard you mentioning it before, and I thought I saw something before..." She trailed off, looking at the rest of the flowers on the ground.

(Gah, Gaia ate my reply yesterday!)

Erik gave a light sigh and took Christine's hand, leading her down the path as he began to speak.

"It is... a very strange creature. A dog, I believe... or at least it once was. Many years ago, a puppy found its way into the sewers. I heard it crying and took it in... but it swiftly changed."

He gave a light sigh, squeezing her fingers.

"I believe the creature is infected with rabis, a disease that drives animals mad with lust to kill. It quickly stopped listening to me, and several times attacked. I banished it to the forest, planning to remove it to a safer location, but I am unable to catch it again."

Leaning down, he put a gentle kiss to her brow. "Do not worry, it is large, but I can fight it off. You will not be harmed."

[[Well that's... alarming. o_o]]

Christine's eyes widened. "Oh... I... see." She glanced about nervously. "Are you sure that you would be alright if... if it did come here? I mean... you are injured, and you've probably worn yourself out enough by now..." She wrung her hands. "What do you plan to do about the poor thing...?" After a moment, she added, "We should probably start heading back. It's getting a bit late." Christine smiled at him and took his hand.

Erik smiled lovingly down at Christine, kissing her forehead sweetly, then beginning to walk back the way they came with her hand in his own.

"Do not worry, I shall be quite alright. As for the creature, I haven't the slightest idea what to do about it. I suppose we shall just have to be cautious."

Smiling slightly, Erik squeezed Christine's fingers for a moment, eyes twinkling.
