((Azreal))

Dawn came.

Or...was it night?

The darkness of the guild chambers literally sucked all notion of time away from Azreal. Much like Subania, really. The only thing that was different here was his freedom, and presence of welcoming (to some degree) company.

He had been fitted with a bed, in his own little dark room. It was comfortable, yes, but far too bare. Could they not spare even the tiniest drop of light to pass around?

Anyways...it was time for waking now. There wasn't much he could do, but he should probably seek out the Guild leader, whose name was revealed to him as "Nicholas Adams". He definitely knows something about that Kefka character - after all, Azreal hadn't known the man was dead! In fact...it didn't seem all that logical after reading those notes...

Nick was resting in his own chamber, two down from Azreal's.

The Lonarin awoke to more darkness. It was, in all honesty, no civilized way to awaken, but he could do nothing else in this black hole of a sanctum. He stood up out of bed and began to paw his way around the room. Darkness and dementia did not mix well.

Had they left him any food, or clothes? These hospital threads sure were uncomfortable.... and what had they done to his delectable roasted rabbits? So many questions.

[Ooh. Someone reads the bulletin board! However, I have to go make a change to the board, because this is supposed to be a D-10 skill. However, it's my bad, so I'll give you this one.]

Ah! They had left him some clothes. No food, though. You'd think that with all these guys being, you know, HUNTERS, there'd be some big feast of meats and wild vegetables waiting in the morning...

But no matter. Now, to check out what they'd granted him. The clothes were on the foot of his bed when he'd woken up...

Azreal gets:

Leather Tunic - 2 DEF
Cotton Pants - 1 DEF
Sneak Moccasins - Chance of random encounter -10%
Dark Robes - 0 DEF, to be worn during ceremony.

Not bad, not bad!

((Damn right. ^-^))

Thankful for the less degrading clothes, Azreal to a moment to slip his rad new threads. After he was all nice and suited up, he exited the room, surprised by how quietly he was able to move with the sneak moccasins.

He moved down the dark hallway, counting the doors he had passed through his sense of touch. Granted, he touched some things on the damp walls that he truly wished he hadn't, but it was better than stumbling around blind.

He approached the guild leader's door after counting two doors down. Somehow, with those eyes, Azreal was sure that the old man would see him coming.... even so, he rapped his knuckles on the door a few times.

((Azreal))

Inside, it was clear the guild leader was up and plotting something. He could be heard pretty clearly, murmuring some sort of plans to himself.

"Hm...and then we'll move Azreal, Jonas, Firth, and Michael to the left...the sewer grate left from the Safetime will provide an easy transport pass any open -OH! H-hello? Who's there? Come in, friend!"

There was a rustling of papers, a hurried scramble, and sudden artificial silence.

For a "Dark Hunter", the guy certainly wasn't too stealthy.

The Lonarian raised an eyebrow in suspicion. Were those eyes just for show?

Regardless, he pushed the door open and stepped inside, his wardrobe making him look a bit less foreign now. He would question Nicholas about why his name had come up later.... for now, there was business to take care of.

"I want to begin my training." said Azreal simply. He certainly seemed to be a man of few words.

((Azreal))

[Sorry...computer was plundered by my father]

Nick chuckled lightly to himself and slowly stood up. He was already wearing his dress robes. Did...did he hunt in those things? That wouldn't really make any sense...

Hm. Anyways, before meeting your face with his own, the man slid on his hood, masking his personage with darkness once more. Motioning for you to follow him, he moved out of his nicely adorned room and over to a different chamber, three doors down to the left.

((No problem. Happens to me all the time.))

Azreal followed without speaking, but did not let his guard down by any means. He may be a part of the guild now, but what he had seen last night was clear; death of guild members seemed fairly common in this place. All the more reason to watch his honey.

Or, back, actually.

Stupid dementia.

((Azreal))

The man stopped at the room's entrance, and spoke.

"Azreal, do you know anything of Magicitics? I...would normally explain them, but being born with Lonarian blood, well...

No "normal" humans can even REMEMBER Kefka and his experiments at the Complex. Now...I'm not sure, but I think it has something to do with the Rozen Clan...

All I know is that Magicitics and Lonarians have proven to show an extreme amount of resilience to the Rozens' attempts at making the past "disappear"...

So, anyways...do you need a refresher on Magicitics?"
PostPosted: Sun Aug 05, 2007 11:08 am

Azreal paused behind him, considering his words carefully. The Septim had all been Magicitics, if he remembered correctly. He had a loose understanding, but if he wished to know more, now would be the time.

"I lack a deeper understanding. Please inform me. In addition, you stated that no "normal" humans can remember Kefka.... so what are you?" question Azreal.

((Azreal))

The man continued, but only briefly.

"You will know more, in time. Not only are we Dark Hunters...but we serve as one of the many Historian groups scattered along this world.

During your training, we will reveal information to you...everything we know.

Information is free.

Training, however, is not. Come inside the chamber with me. We will discuss your learning..."

With that, he grabbed your hand and pulled you into the dark opening with him.

"By the by, I am a Magicitic."

With that, he let go and knelt down to light a row of seven candles on an offertory-like holder.

The room became much clearer now. It was a little homier than the rest, not to mention larger. There were numerous shelves and desks, all filled to the brim with loose papers and logbooks. Even, it seemed, a few maps. There was a blackboard. Cuuuute.

In front of the board, where Nicholas had now moved to and begun to write on, were two short, wooden benches. As he wrote, Nicholas implored you to take a seat.

"Now, feel free to ask me any more questions, friend. You were lucky to stumble upon our organization at this time...we will be training you not only for your own protection...but for war. Speak up. Time is short."
PostPosted: Sun Aug 05, 2007 11:23 am

Azreal strode through the room and sat down at a bench near the blackboard, feeling a bit uncomfortable.... it felt like he was nothing but a child again, sitting down and being instructed as such. An odd feeling, to say the least.

At the mention of war, his eyes widened in surprise. "War? That's a heavy word to use so lightly.... who do you plan to meet on the fields of battle? Why now?" questioned Azreal, inquiries buzzing through his mind.

((Azreal))

Nicholas did not speak until he was done completing what appeared to be a chart of sorts. After he was done, he turned and faced you, his robe glowing in the candlelight.

"Azreal, our resources are running thin. As an outcasted guild with a severe lack of affiliation, we're not...really...the most POPULAR Guild.

If we ever want to come to power, we're going to have to obtain it through what we do best - killing.

Now, our group is stationed just two miles outside of Amandilla, a very small town with only ONE faction of guildsmen defending it. If we were to, say, attack this group of men in a most efficient, claculated manner, we may have a shot of taking over the whole town. Yes, I know it sounds tyrannical, but in these deserted lands....only shadows of the Safetime...someone has to come to power. Someone has to LEAD."

He paused. It was inevitable that the swallowed words intended to follow were to the effect of taking down Rozen...

Wow, did everyone really hate that guy THAT much?

Nicholas took a breath and continued to speak.

"We attack when you are ready, Azreal. I already have a plan of action, and am simply reviewing it now. Once the town is ours, we can recruit others to our cause....begin teaching self-defense and spreading history throughout the area....

Before long, thousands of Ignorants will be alerted to the call of revolution.

We will stand up and ANSWER that call, Azreal. We WILL succeed.

Now, if you have any other questions or comments on that topic, please inform me of them before we begin."

Damn.

Oh, lawdy, lawdy. What trouble have you done got yo'self into, boy?

Well, it was quite a plan. Morality didn't really come into play when Nick mentioned tyranny.... it was just another form of ruling, after all. Humans needed to be ruled. Like cattle... or house pets.

In addition, Azreal could vividly picture the many advantages that having connections to a powerful guild would bring. Over all, it was a good plan. But if Nicholas was trying to rope him in for a long term fight, they needed to have a discussion.

"Nicholas, I have already informed you of my primary goal. I will assist you in the conquering of this town, as a guild member, but I have another pressing matter I must attend to in the Arctic afterwords. Surely you understand. With that said, we may begin."

((Azreal))

The robed man seemed to be paying more attention, as if you were now the master...

"Yes. You spoke of a key. Explain your purpose. Perhaps our goals may...intertwine."
