Guitar Hero was real popular at the time. I tried playing it and I sucked out of control. I didn't feel like spending all my free time getting really good at a crappy game that every other person that I know plays but I did feel like spending hours learning the real thing because I really didn't fit in and had nothing to offer to people. Now I have a bunch of new friends who also play guitar and every cheerleader who hates me most of the time falls in love with me for a minute when I play a quick riff.

I probably have the lamest reason to having started playing guitar but here goes. I started playing guitar for the following reasons: A. I love challenges and when one of my friends invited me to their house to play guitar hero i really fell in love with the game and realized i was dedicating a lot of time to it. So i challenged myself to actually play real guitar cause that takes REAL skill B. Because i love music...i just love music and everything about it. Its pretty amazing that everytime i listen to any song or something musical i wanna play guitar. I feel like i have infinite musical inspiration. C. Because everything about guitar fascinates me and because everything about guitar never ceases to amaze me. I just love guitar.
There is so many secrets sealed in a guitar behind 6 strings, 24 frets, and combination between creativity and time. Whats not to love?...well anyways i got off topic...I basically joined for mainly the first reason and the other two as well.

I had wanted to play guitar for many years. . . I was playing percussion in a couple bands, and was kind of bored of that, losing my interest in music kind of. I started playing in high school, and took lessons because I wanted to know how to play very well. I never really wanted to perform so much as compose I suppose. II got a cheap guitar, not the one I really wanted.

I started playing because I wanted to make music. And I love the look of guitars... The shape and stuff was attractive. It also helps that all the songs I'd want to play use a guitar. smile
