She nodded vigorously, but then paused. "Hm. Not at the time." She shrugged, Chitsa didn't mind being grounded for awhile. She had a lot of fun on the ground anyway... but that didn't make her any less curious about what it was like to soar in the skies.

Unfortunately, Chitsa turned out to be extremely ticklish, especially on her wings, for some odd reason. So as he placed his nostrils close to her wings, the mare burst into laughter and tried to subdue herself. Now, Chitsa hopped backwards trying to stop laughing. Slowly, she calmed herself down and looked at him. "Oh dear. I'm sorry! I am, sadly, very ticklish..." She paused, "Very ticklish." She grinned softly, hoping he didn't mind.

Chitsa had never heard those words come out of a soquili's mouth before, let alone directed at her. If she had a lighter fur color, her cheeks would have been as red as a rose. "Oh-" She paused, "No I'm not very beautiful..." She always thought she was a tad clumsy and awkward looking.

A slight, visible, yet intangible smile swept over Roka's face. Chitsa's wings were ticklish - how ironic! His own wings tickled his nose, but now his nose tickled Chitsa's wings! He laughed a bit too, along with her, because of the moment. "Don't be sorry... Sorry for what? Being ticklish? It is only a trait that makes one more unique, makes one more interesting." He hesitated, wondering more about her wings. "Is that why you don't fly? The wind's embrace tickles your wings?" He laughed. "How interesting."

He nodded affirmatively, glancing at Chitsa once more before turning to the clouds and sky. "You are, very," he said, all expression now gone from his face. "...Where do you come from?" he asked, hoping her answer would give some insight as to why she, to him, had seemed like the most beautiful and yet strangest soquili he had seen so far. Strange, yes, as the butterfly wings were something new -- but that was also interesting. Perhaps she had been sent from the heavens? Surely, anything was possible in this age.

Chitsa grinned sheepishly and blushed once more, even though it was hardly visible. The mare shrugged and looked up at the sky, "I don't know... The wind doesn't tickle my wings but everything else does." She giggled softly and shrugged once more.

"Come from? I think." She paused, she actually wasn't quite sure but from what Sisika told her, she was born here, "I was born here. My mother and supposedly my father have similar wings as I do and my brother has wings too!" Wow, she never realized how little she knew about her family. Perhaps she would seek out Shaylee once more and ask her about it. They really needed a family reunion anyway, and Chitsa dearly wanted to meet her father. "What about you?" The mare tilted her head curiously at him. How lucky she was to meet such a nice stallion, not that the previous stallions she had met before weren't nice... Roka was just different.

Roka slyly smiled, looking back to Chitsa's wings. He enjoyed challenges, or the possibility of them, anyways. One day, he would conquer her wing's ticklishness and get them to stay still when in contact with anything else, other than the sky, wind, and air. If he couldn't, then no problem. Life was just a big citrus fruit, to him, anyways, waiting to be squeezed. When challenges are overcome, juice would come out from the squeezing. But it so happens that Roka doesn't very much enjoy the citrusy juice of life, perhaps.

"Ah, you have a family," he stated, "a family just like you. Curious." He nodded slowly, wondering if one day he would get to meet another one of Chitsa's family--another one of her kind. But then again, knowing Chitsa was enough for him. He enjoyed isolation sometimes, and knowing many others would just make his head hurt--seeing too many familiar faces, being surrounded all the time. "Do they all have ticklish wings like you?" he asked, oblivious as to whether she had even met her family members yet or not. Of course she had; he knew who his own family members were, and saw them whenever he wished. He even lived with his own mother in their indians' teepee. "Eh, I have a family too. Both my mother and father have wings, too, but my wings are most like my father's. You should meet them one day. I'll bring you to them. They're nice, and I think they like meeting many new soquilis--a pleasure I am unfamiliar with, I'm afraid. I mean, although it is nice to meet new ones, I don't unintentionally go out of my way to do that." He looked down, digging his two front hooves deeper into the ground. "I like spending time with the wind, grass, and trees more. They offer me better company than my current friends and family--especially my two sisters." He smiled as the moist dirt underneath the grass gave way a little for his hooves to sink in. It gave him an interesting feeling, but it wasn't as enjoyable as before. Perhaps he was thinking too much. Perhaps he has said too much. Chitsa didn't seem like any other soquili he knew--so far, he rather enjoyed her company. This has never happened before. Perhaps his system was malfunctioning...

Deep in her heart, Chitsa knew she probably could fly, but there was some odd force that was keeping her grounded. Maybe someday she could identify the unknown force, but for now, she was content, very content. She always tried to stay positive about life, there were always the ups and downs but that's just what life was. A very... very bumpy road. Sometimes you just wanted to vomit but must refrain for your own sanity and Chitsa was far beyond sane now.

The mare nodded softly as he spoke. Most of the soquili she had met, didn't know their family or were gone somewhere so it was nice to know that there were other children other than her wandering around. Chitsa enjoyed the peace and quiet, but she really love meeting other soquili and just being socially active. Sitting in the teepee bored her, and because she had nobody to talk to, it was nice to just get out and run through the grass with the wind flowing her her mane and tail. "Hm. That's an odd thought, I have no idea. I've never met my father and my brother and mother didn't seem to have that problem." She believed that they could all fly, she wasn't sure about her brother but he probably could. "Meet them? Oh that would be just wonderful!" Chitsa always loved to meet new soquili, and especially if they were Roka's parents, she would definitely want to meet them. Why she felt this, she did not know but she liked the feeling. "I'm the only soquili that lives in my teepee, with a two-legger. She's alright but she's gone most of the day, so I'm left doing nothing." Chitsa paused, "Not that I mind, but sometimes it gets boring." The mare grinned sheepisly and tossed her short mane.

Chitsa watched Roka curiously as he pawed at the ground, curious... But then she gazed back up at him and smiled softly. Her smile almost seemed infectious, it was hard to say why but she was just that way.

Although Chitsa seemed like she wasn't able to fly with him now, she did have the wings, which give hope for flight with her in the future. The mere prospect of being able to fly with someone else whose company he enjoyed excited Roka. He smiled, partly because of Chitsa's smiling and the small gleam of hope for that chance in the distant future...

"Perhaps you have met them already." He snorted awkwardly, in a twisted combination of a chuckle and a grunt of slight resentment. "My father, especially, enjoys meeting a variety of soquili. His name is Orchu, and my mother's is Kasumi. I live with my mother, and she is... pretty much tolerable. One of my sisters, Nora, lives with father, while my other sister, Claribel... Well, I don't know where she is at all. Perhaps father or mother knows. I don't get to see my two two-leggers often, either. I do admit they are interesting sometimes, but I haven't been around them long enough to know much about them. But... You're left doing nothing?" he asked, each word in his last sentence drawn out, as if he couldn't believe that anyone would be left doing nothing, for the world was full of things to do!

"I wouldn't mind spending those times with you," he said casually. "If you'd like to--if you find it to be too boring at times." He simpered as his eyes turned to the dirt below his front hooves. As he lifted his hooves up, he noticed that he had made two bowl-like formations on the ground. He then had begun to stare at the two half-holes intently, as if he had forgotten that Chitsa was standing near him. "If you'd like to," he repeated, in a softer tone.

Yes she did have wings, she was going to fly someday... she could feel it in her bones. The prospect of possibly flying someday soon excited her and she couldn't help but giggle to herself.

Chitsa shook her head slightly, "If they look somewhat like you, then I probably have not met them. I've met a few other winged soquili like you but none that have similar markings." She wasn't too disappointed by that though, that would just mean she could spend more time with Roka and maybe get to know his family. The prospect of that also excited her. "That must be nice, living with your mother..." She didn't mind living away from Shaylee, but she wished she could see her more, but that could possibly be her fault. She didn't get out as much as she liked. The mare giggled as he drew out each word of his sentence, "Yes. Noothing to do, at all. Sometimes I feel a little restricted because I'm stuck on the ground." Chitsa shrugged softly and looked to the ground, beginning to wonder what he was thinking at the moment.

As he said that, she glances up at him with curious eyes, "With... me?" She was rather shocked, because she had been told that she was extremely annoying and ever too hyper, before. "Of course! I'd love to spend time with you, even if I'm not bored." She had a rather sincere tone in her voice. That was a special thing about her, she was probably one of the most honest soquili's you'd ever meet.

"That's a surprise," Roka stated frankly, "as father seems to have been trying to meet every other soquili in this world. Ah, well. Living with my mother is fine, but we still don't get to spend that much time together. Half the time we do, it is silence... I guess we both like it better that way." He smiled smugly. "We both like the sound of nature--silence from all, save for the things that mattered." He let a brief pause of time go by as he continued staring at his two holes--what was he doing, again? Talking to Chitsa? He looked up immediately, ears perking as if he had just awoken from a deep sleep. "Wait. You're stuck on the ground?" he asked calmly. "You can't be stuck. Look!" He wandered a few feet away from Chitsa, turning his head back halfway through his journey to smile brightly at her. Then, in a great leap, he jumped from one spot to another, and from that spot to another, and another, with each leap's height more higher than the last. His wings kept folded along his back, ensuring her that he wasn't cheating somehow. A wild, crazed grin spread across his face--something rarely seen. Although he seemed quite ridiculous prancing about the field, he didn't mind--he was only demonstrating that Chitsa had the ability to get off of the ground!

When he was through with that, he seemed to land right next to Chitsa, and then he got down on the ground, a little tired from all that jumping. "Sometimes it just takes a small leap to spread your wings and fly," he whispered in a half mumble. At once, he realized that she had willingly obliged to his offer of spending time with her while she was bored--and, better yet--not bored as well! He truly smiled, with just a small hint of caution, as he never really spent time with anyone but himself and nature. He didn't know what had prompted him to suggest spending time with Chitsa, but whatever it was, it had just seemed like it was fated to be. "There is nothing wrong with you," he said thoughtfully, "so, why such a long pause before 'me'?" Although he was glad that Chitsa had seemed truthful in her words, he wondered what it was that made her seem hesitant as well.

"Interesting..." Chitsa smiled sweetly and listened to Roka speak. "Yes, silence is not a stranger to me. Her gentle yet curious eyes focused in on him as he stared down at his two holes. She would dearly love to try to meet every soquili, but that was way too many names for her to remember! The mare glanced at him as he asked the question, whoops, she wasn't trying to be literal, Chitsa chuckled to herself, but let Roka go through his demonstration. "Oh dear, seems I'm not completely grounded." Chitsa chuckled out loud this time.

As he jumped right next to her, Chitsa squeaked loudly and burst into giggles. Seemed like Chitsa could laugh at anything. Chitsa paused and pawed at the ground softly as he asked that question, "Oh. I don't know. I've never come off as a soquili that others would like to spend time with..." It was true, she either scared off soquili, or bored them. It kind of made her sad but she didn't mind. Chitsa was too optimistic to look down on herself, and she knew that it would probably make her feel even worse.

"What are your parents like?" Roka inquired, gathering interest in Chitsa's family again. "Or--your mother, anyways. Is she like you?" He paused to take a deep breath and sigh. None of his own parents were like him at all--not even his brothers and sisters. Though this somewhat irked him, he didn't care about it that much. But it still always stuck to the back of his mind. Being an outcast from his family made him both proud and discontent. "I'm afraid that I'm like neither of my parents. Speaking of that... Are... Are all the members of your family so small like you?" he thoughtlessly asked, curious as to whether Chitsa's small size came from her family lineage.

Roka smiled as Chitsa went into a giggle fit. Although he didn't see anything funny about the situation, he couldn't help but find cheer in the mare's sense of humor. "Oh?" he asked surprisedly. She seemed like an exciting, fruitful soquili--the type that would always be at the center of crowds and attention. "But you have a very vivid personality." He smiled. Her personality did seem to shine away from the personalities of other soquili he knew. What couldn't the other soquili see in her?

"My mother... is just like me..." Chitsa shrugged with a slight grin. It was true, even though she only met her mother briefly, she had come to realize that she was almost exactly like her. At least personality wise. She liked that they were somewhat alike, but it also made her wonder how she became so much like her. Chitsa didn't spend much time with her mother and it was just... odd. But questions like that weren't meant to be answered. Chitsa tilted her head curiously at the question, "Small?" The question went right over Chitsa's head and it took her a few seconds to realize what he meant. Once she understood, "OOH. Small. As in short." The mare giggled once more and grinned at Roka. "Um. I think they are. At least Shaylee is." She nodded enthusiastically.

"Vivid... Never heard that word describe my personality before." Chitsa shrugged softly and wished that all soquili used vivid to describe her. "Annoying has been a word to describe me. I don't really mind, but I don't know." Chitsa shrugged softly and smiled at Roka quietly.

Just like her... Roka hesitated. Just like her? "But there can't be two of you," he said out loud without realizing it. But if there were Chitsas, then that would mean that there was another soquili out there whose company might be appreciated by him, which was usually rare. Shrugging it off, he got up from his sitting position and shook his body, allowing for the dirt from the ground that attached to him to fall about wildly.

Roka nodded as Chitsa began to answer his question. Was "small" the wrong word to use? He looked over her again. She was small -- even compared to other mares that he had seen. He poked his nose closer to her face, wondering if his eyes had gone awry. Maybe if he got closer, she would seem more normal-sized? "Shaylee?" he asked quietly while inspecting Chitsa. He was awfully close to her...

"Annoying," he repeated, a small frown forming on his face. "No way you are annoying." He smiled assuringly at Chitsa. How could others say that? "Perhaps they did not understand the meaning of 'annoying'."

Chitsa chuckled and shook her head slightly, "I mean. Our personalities are similar. I'm a tad more random then she is, but we're both rather hyper and I think... pleasent. We both have our likes and dislikes, and we're not exactly the same in every aspect." The mare stuck her tongue playfully at Roka and grinned happily. She really was enjoying his company, it wasn't like the other soquili she had met though. It was a different feeling but Chitsa didn't ponder on it too much.

Watching him with curious eyes, Chitsa didn't move as he moved closer to her. "Oh. Shaylee is my mother's name." She nodded softly and stretched her transparent wings lazily and smiled softly at Roka.

"Oh... Well, if you're sure..." Chitsa wasn't one to care about what others said about her. Though that didn't make her emotionless. It was just the important people that counted, and Roka was beginning to be one of those important people...
PostPosted: Mon May 29, 2006 10:20 pm

Roka's head lit up as if he had just discovered something brilliant. "Ah, I see," he began, "So if you're a bit of the same as each other, what qualities do you have that resemble her, physically-speaking?" He paused, ears pricking up as if detecting something. "I'd like to see your mother one day, perhaps." Had he heard something before? He went silent for a while, concentrating on listening to the winds. He had heard something; far-off in the distance, seemed to be something beckoning to him. He didn't know why he felt that way, but his instincts were for the most part correct.

"Ah, Shaylee. I will keep that in mind," he winked, "for when I encounter her on a future visit. And, Chitsa..." He looked into her eyes deeply, something within himself telling him that these were eyes that he would spend the rest of his life with. Of course I'll see her many times in the future, he thought to himself, Chitsa's a friend, if not a very good acquaintance. "...Believe me when I say that you are the best soquili I have ever met." His expression started to form into a grin, but the process had vanished all too soon as another distant call was heard. "...I must leave soon," he said sadly, hiding a frown. His heart seemed to suddenly fall into his belly once he had mentioned about leaving Chitsa. Why he felt this, he didn't know, but that would be sorted out later. "How..." he paused shyly, as if encouraging himself to express himself in words, "How will I be able to find you next time...?" A meek smile slowly came onto his face while his wings quivered slightly in the sunlight, secretly hoping that the mare would be pleased at seeing him again soon as much as he did.
