Asami skipped behind her friend a little until he pointed out the berries. They looked a lot like the ones her father had ate with her before after he taught her how to eat a rabbit. "Yum!" She said as she walked over to the bush and reached between the thorns that she was used to getting cut by since she ate berries the most. When she pulled one out, she examined it a bit the popped it into her mouth. Yep, exactly like the ones she ate with her father.

He figured she knew what she was doing and acted like he knew too. He wasn't going to say that he didn't know they were good or not. "Told you." He said with a smug look on his face. He walked over and examined them for a moment. What were those things poking out of the side of the stem?
He touched it and pulled back quickly from a sharp pain that went through his paw. He looked at it as if it bit him. And then at Asami to see if she had seen him at all. He quickly looked back to the bush and plucked off a berry avoiding the sharp things. He gently placed the berry on his lips and looked back at Asami. Well, she was eating them, they couldn't be poison.
He closed his eyes and opened his mouth plopping the berry into his mouth and finally eating it. "mmm." He said as he opened his eyes. He'd never had a berry before. His father only let them eat meat. Though, these were sweet and very nice. Meat was very different.

Asami nodded her head at Takumi then reached her paw in and grabbed another berry without getting a scratch on her arm. She was lucky her paws were still so small, but one day she would have to be more careful like her father was whenever he went to grab a berry.
The brown and white kit tilted her head a little. Why did Takumi touch the thorn? Of course, she acted like she didn't see anything and examined the berry she had grabbed. Her nose wrinkled a little as she threw the berry behind her and reached for a better looking one.
After another pawful of berries, Asami stretched a little and looked around for the perfect place to lay down. "Now that I'm full, I'm ready for a nap." Asami said as a huge yawn slipped from her insides as she laid herself against a huge tree that seemed like the perfect hide away. Maybe this wasn't the best of place, but Asami was going to wait here until Takumi was ready to leave.

Well, he guessed he was also tired. Or at least he'd eat a few more berries before actually going where she was, now more careful not to touch the pointy thingies on the stem. He licked his chops after a few more berries and the stretched away from them careful not to touch any part of the plant in case it tried to bite him again. "A nap..." He yawned" sounds good."
He made his way towards where she was and smiled. "nice place to sleep too." He said as he noted that the trees covered them from the hot sun above. His parents wouldn't even notice he was gone, so he didn't even care much about that at all.

Asami watched as Takumi picked a few more berries then stretched out and yawned. She stretched out her little muscles before curling back up into a small ball and laying her head down. "Yes, it does." She said softly as her eyes began to close. The spots of sun that the tree's leaves did not cover kept her just the right amount of warm.
A large yawn escaped the ulaya as she slowly drifted off to sleep while her ears twisted around listening to Takumi's movements.

He wasn't sure if he was suppose to stay up or not. The young kit yawned and then looked to his friend. Why did she have to fall asleep on him. Who would protect them if both of them did? He shrugged, and figured they were safe. Plus, he was not a male, it wasn't up to him to save them. His head went down, along with his eyes.
