Meta_Fish Akkad` I am sorry if my snaking was getting on people's nerves. I just can't play it without fast tempo speed. I am used to playing with people on other message boards that I forget. Even with the reminders of not doing it, I just lose it. emo I think you're lying, honestly. It seemed that you snaked when you needed just a little boost to get ahead, or to make sure you beat a certain person. Even Xilo said you snaked to beat him in one race, and Seaphron noticed you were doing it, even though this is his first day playing the game online. So just because people notice me snaking, my statement is false? I just like going fast and speedy is all. And Seaphron has played many times before tonight. Meta_Fish I wouldn't really call it a skill. It doesn't take 'skill' to snake. It's a cheap tactic so that you can get your win record higher, and have a bigger e-p***s. If you snake against non snakers, you pretty much win. Simple as that, and it seems that people just snake to beat newbies. It takes time to learn how to drift, then snake. If you wouldn't know how to snake, then you don't; Snaking takes skill to know when and how to turn the corners IMO. Meta_Fish Akkad` that is drifting repeatedly to go faster than what cc is being played on. Is online like 100-150 cc? Anyway, it's more like half of a golden mushroom in speed. People also use snaking to go through places that are otherwise mushroom shortcuts, thereby making the game just a pain to play. Online play is bases on 150cc. Mushroom shortcuts don't apply in snaking. In Delfino Square, you can snake through the shortcut with mud, it just takes you slower. Meta_Fish Akkad` It enables you to get ahead of your opponent, is he/she isn't snaking themselves. Or if they are, and you're just a better snaker. ninja Snaker vs. Snaker = epic match. Meta_Fish Akkad` Unlike Fish, who does not snake and gets mad when I do, doesn't snake and still seems to get ahead of me. I don't know how he does it, though. 1337 HAX You had to be hacking somehow because in Desert Sands I won by a mile and it said you won. That is what I was ******** about on AIM.

Sauvie Why the hell do Friend codes even piss you off to such a freaking extent?, th Clunkyness will die away soon Strikers is really fine if you have a good connection and good even if you dont. I didn't say they pissed me off and made me want to hurt people or anything, just that they were an annoyance. They really turn me off from wanting to play some online games. Sauvie I think that the attempt at lowering lag with regional matches only is just an early Mistake, soon there should be worldwide games that have little to no Lag, If they can make the DS play worldwide the Wii can as well I don't think it was a mistake. It's one of the most unimpressive Wii games visually so far, and can only go up to four seperate online players (I do understand that you have teammates). Medal of Honor will have 32 player online. I'm just worried about getting a lot of lag, because I get some on the DS, even when I'm right here next to my router. Sauvie they can keep it the same and it won't bother me any but for those who want gamertags or a similar system they could probably make it thatonly one side needs to add a friend code then the other side gets an "invite" and as for transferring friend info from Strikers, What info all there is is add code and play there is no Friend vs. Friend stats it wouldnt be that hard I hadn't even thought of gamertags. I love those things! It'd be neat to see what VC games and whatnot everyone had been playing. I hope that for future titles, they just put in a username for the game, and do the 'invite' thing. The codes are just un-needed, when there is no user created content, or way to communicate. I mean, if they redid the Wii's online program, and replaced the "Wii Number Code" or whatever it's called with usernames, and then used those usernames for all of their future and already released titles, I would think they would have to send information to each and every Wii to get people's accounts added and whatnot. It may be simple, it may not. I don't know enough about that stuff. It seems like you don't like me anymore, and that everything I do or have to say is just too much for you to handle. I was asking what it was for to see if you would say something like that. Is it so wrong that I want to just sit down, turn on my Wii, and invite a friend to play a game online with me? No. It should be like that, but it isn't. I have to add them, they have to add me, we both have to do this outside of our Wii consoles, or we could 'message' the numbers to each other, which would mean we'd have to transcribe it, as well. Then we both have to connect to the game, and go to friendsmode. I just want to add a friend's username when I get the Wii, and then invite them to play a game whenever. Sauvie Once again give it time, so far they are screwing up a lot, but as soon as they get a hang of online for a major console games willbe flawless in there online play, wait for Mario Kart Wii, Maybe Brawl, and surely other great titles Look in the first "era" so to speak of the wii (from Launch to PBR) There were three great games with any story and maybe 5 total great games for the system (I still hate Warioware) as soon as PBR came out its online and the entire game was a Joke, and Now we have Strikers with Leaderboards, "Seasons" Reletively lag free play and soon it will only get better I know it'll get better, it's just underwhelming. The DS should have been their prototype for online play, and the Wii, their blowout for an excellent, free service, to combat Xbox Live. It's not. Not yet.

Akkad` So just because people notice me snaking, my statement is false? I just like going fast and speedy is all. And Seaphron has played many times before tonight. I'm saying I think it's false because of when you used snaking. As you appeared off of the small map on the screen, near the end, to try to make sure you'd beat somebody. I was mistaken about Seaphron. Akkad It takes time to learn how to drift, then snake. If you wouldn't know how to snake, then you don't; Snaking takes skill to know when and how to turn the corners IMO. I guess so, yeah. I still think it's cheap, and makes the game un-fun. Akkad` Online play is bases on 150cc. Mushroom shortcuts don't apply in snaking. In Delfino Square, you can snake through the shortcut with mud, it just takes you slower. Online play is slower than 150cc, I'm pretty sure. It just doesn't seem as fast. Am I the only one that notices a difference in the controls, as well? I know you can snake through the mud. I'm saying it's kind of like using a mushroom, because you go a bit faster. It doesn't really make the game into another cc, like you had said, so I was just trying to clarify. Akkad` Snaker vs. Snaker = epic match. I'd say it's ******** gay. That's not what Mario Kart is about. It's about having fun, by laughing when you get blown the ******** up, and when someone drops a banana peel right in front of you, causing you to spin off the edge, or into some other hazard, and then off the edge. It's not about mashing your thumb on the d-pad, just trying to make sure you win, so you can feel better about yourself. I hate that online games have to be cutthroat competitive, but it seems like they all do. Other than like, Animal Crossing. Akkad` You had to be hacking somehow because in Desert Sands I won by a mile and it said you won. That is what I was ******** about on AIM. ROFFFFFFFFFFFFLE I'm this anti-snaking, and you still think I hack? No, I don't. I play the game normally. You didn't win by a mile, but you won by a bit of a margin, and I believe it told me that you won. Then again, you were lagging pretty hardcore that race, so maybe that's what ******** it up. Why wouldn't you just tell me on AIM?

If they dont piss you off why the hell do you seemingly never stop bitching about them at the first word of onlie into a conversation? How is Strikers visually one of the most unimpressive games so far, it has a lot of meyhem on screen at all times, has 10 great looking Mario characters on screen at once with Bombs, shells and signiture items going everywhere not to mention the different stage elements as well. It only has four player online in it because it is a 2 team Soccer game that has in the best case 8 players at once, but instead we get half of that, and I personally think it is impressively fluid. Medal of honour will have 32 player online, that is true, and I am sure they are gonna be working out the kinks of the system for a long time to make it as good as possible and lowering the lag might be a very big situational problem. The DS online generally works well though, and thats the key point, it works, if it has a flaw or two so be it I would rather be Owned by players online in Mario kart than totally decimate a Computer. Gamertag like things would be great but it seems like it would be an immense amount of effort but very posible, and thinking of all of the possible stats and info that tags could give is a great thing to think of. A username system would be the easiest and most gamer friendly way to make the online titles, but Nintendo loves the FC idea and for whatevr dumb reason thinks that there has to be great safety in all the things they do and for online it will hinder the system, but once again even having single input codes would make the entire process a lot easier, and as Xilo said a Single code like the useless wii number as a master code would be brilliant but that brilliance eluded Nintendo on this occaision. It isnt that I dont like you any more it is because you freaking b***h and complain about every god damn thing as it were the end of your world, when you are having a bad day. You only have to add them once per game, and if you do that as soon as you or your friend get the game you can turn the Wii on and challenge them if they are online I doubt that the wii's online service was made to combat X-box live, if so that was a suicide mission from the start, Microsoft has owned the online market for a long time and there service, though expensive is near flawless in the way it is built and Nintendo has 2 online games that arent on the DS and one is a joke soon it will get better, but there is no way it will ever be an X-box live killer, games may have a major online community like online Mario kart and Brawl in the future but as long as the flawed system exists people will whine, people will cry people will b***h and some excessive nerds will quit with "all of the hassle" and just blame Nintendo for everything bad about its online not looking at anything posetive.

He can complain all he wants he's just trying to show his point of view and it's being thrown into his face every time
I think I'd be annoyed too.
Personally I agree with his point of view on the whole Wii Code thing... Hell half of the Nintendo playing internet agrees with it from what I've seen.
>_> and going out of your way to insult someone for having an opinion different to yours isn't on by the way calling him Lazy because you don't agree isn't precisely nice.

Sauvie If they dont piss you off why the hell do you seemingly never stop bitching about them at the first word of onlie into a conversation? Me I didn't say they pissed me off and made me want to hurt people or anything, just that they were an annoyance. They really turn me off from wanting to play some online games. I also didn't say that they didn't not piss me off. I complain because it's a hassle every time I want to add someone. I haven't added anyone to my Wii list in ages, because it's just such a hassle to do for me. I just absolutely despise it. Quote: How is Strikers visually one of the most unimpressive games so far, it has a lot of meyhem on screen at all times, has 10 great looking Mario characters on screen at once with Bombs, shells and signiture items going everywhere not to mention the different stage elements as well. It's not very impressive looking to me. I mean what I said. Really, it looks like it could be done on the GameCube, and doesn't look that much better than the first one, from what I've seen. The things that are there are unimpressive looking. Quote: It only has four player online in it because it is a 2 team Soccer game that has in the best case 8 players at once, but instead we get half of that, and I personally think it is impressively fluid. Apparently not fluid enough for worldwide play, though. Well, not recommended. The game can range from 2-4 player online. Yes, it has stage elements and powerups, most games have something like that. I'm just saying that this first dip into the shallow end has me worried for diving off the diving board. Quote: Medal of honour will have 32 player online, that is true, and I am sure they are gonna be working out the kinks of the system for a long time to make it as good as possible and lowering the lag might be a very big situational problem. I'm figuring the graphics will be majorly toned down, and options will be limited. I'd like to be wrong, though. The Xbox had, what, 16 player online max? Quote: The DS online generally works well though, and thats the key point, it works, if it has a flaw or two so be it I would rather be Owned by players online in Mario kart than totally decimate a Computer. It does work generally well. I'm just saying I want it to be better. Quote: Gamertag like things would be great but it seems like it would be an immense amount of effort but very posible, and thinking of all of the possible stats and info that tags could give is a great thing to think of. I don't think it would be that hard. Didn't they have the MPH score thing that you could post anywhere online? If so, Nintendo's already dabbled, and could do something like that. I just fret that they may shy away, since it's been done. Quote: A username system would be the easiest and most gamer friendly way to make the online titles, but Nintendo loves the FC idea and for whatevr dumb reason thinks that there has to be great safety in all the things they do and for online it will hinder the system, but once again even having single input codes would make the entire process a lot easier, and as Xilo said a Single code like the useless wii number as a master code would be brilliant but that brilliance eluded Nintendo on this occaision. That's exactly what I'm saying. I'm saying that they've missed a good opportunity. Quote: It isnt that I dont like you any more it is because you freaking b***h and complain about every god damn thing as it were the end of your world, when you are having a bad day. I wasn't really bitching that bad. I just said they were a pain, and then you asked, and I told you what I thought of them. I'm not bitching like it's the end of the/my world, and you are exaggerating. Also, my day was pretty okay. Quote: You only have to add them once per game, and if you do that as soon as you or your friend get the game you can turn the Wii on and challenge them if they are online I know this. I'm saying I'd like to turn on my Wii, add "Waynebrizzle" and then check a friendslist, see what everyone is playing, who is online, and invite them to play a game with me. Instead, I have to heavily rely on my computer to set up any matches I play, or contact a person in another manner. Quote: I doubt that the wii's online service was made to combat X-box live That's pretty obvious at this point. It could have combated Xbox Live if Nintendo had pulled it off better from the start. Quote: if so that was a suicide mission from the start, Microsoft has owned the online market for a long time The DS' online was already more popular than Xbox Live within a couple or three years of it's launch. Nintendo owns online, even with their dumb ideas and program. Quote: but there is no way it will ever be an X-box live killer We really don't know that. If Nintendo can simply update the Wii's firmware, they can redo the online things. I know Nintendo has some great titles for online play. Something as simple as StarFox on the Wii would be a great title to play. Driving tanks, shooting RPGs, and flying Arwings would be a blast, especially with a mic. "I see you..." "s**t. Where are you?" *flies Arwing into* "THE SKY!!!" Quote: and some excessive nerds will quit with "all of the hassle" That seems like an awfully low blow, Sauvie. = Quote: and just blame Nintendo for everything bad about its online not looking at anything posetive. Sure, there's positive about Nintendo's online system. They tout it every chance they get.

Just chipping my two cents in cause I want in on the convo, I dont mind friendcodes. You do them once and they're done. Big whoop it isnt that hard, I do wish we could communicate through it though.
Other then that you make a stab at Sauvie for not being precisicly nice or going out of his way to insult somebody, but to me it seems that Fish hasnt been all that nice lately to some people either. No offense to Fish I mean I dont mean to make a stab at you, but it is true.
