My thoughts on remembrance of those who commit suicide are complicated, and I'll freely admit my opinion isn't fully consistent; still, I cannot blame Robin for escaping dementia.
True, translation technology is advancing rapidly, so long as Google doesn't over-hype as they did a few years ago with auto-translating earbuds. and now there's the reveal of Google Duplex ... xp
No worries; I'm just grateful you put up with me and my erratic response timing. biggrin

I am just as guilty of timing, old friend. It takes two to make a conversation at minimum . . . and neither of us are guilt-free.
I, like most if they are honest, view suicide as a personal loss. My loss. I did not mourn Robin for his death because of what he gave up, or even what his family did. In complete honesty, it was the knowledge that a man so revered and talented would never again make something I could enjoy. My heart goes out to his kith and kin, but in the end, I have no real right to say much. Recently, somebody else very close to me started to contemplate taking their life as well. She is trans, but is running into all sorts of trouble in every arena. Living, finances, even obtaining medical assistance in her MtF transition. All I could tell her was that I couldn’t stop her . . . but she is important to me, and that she would never be forgotten.

Summer is upon us once again, it seems. The humidity can't leave soon enough... -_-

Rain seems to be ever-present lately. Rather than less humidity, we have nothing less than 85% humidity assaulting us. Of course, we live not far from a creek, so there is that making the situation worse.

I know how that is; we live on wetland near a tributary. Memorial Day is just around the corner, so I suppose it isn't much different from the usual.

crap. Time got away from me.
Things keep plodding along. I have the same old worries (car, finances), and seek the same escapes. I trust you are doing well enough? A post was meant to come a hell of a lot sooner, but life got in the way. sweatdrop

Treading water well enough for now. Since my sleep schedule is a beast eternally in flux, I've decided to prioritize combating my slowing metabolism since i know i can manage that more easily since i'm accustomed to being skinny.

I don't ever remember being skinny. I know I was once- as a kid. For whatever reason, laziness, bad diet, you name it I'm heavy. Been heavy my entire memory.
But it is good to hear that you are choosing your battles. Though some decent sleep would be preferred, doing anything to better your life would be good. You put so much energy into taking care of others and to responsibility- please take care of yourself, too.

Just since December I've put on 15 pounds. When clothes started getting tight, I knew I really had to do something about it.
After getting only 3 hours of sleep in the last 48, the most extreme I've ever had, I got a long restful night last night. Dealing with a big deadline-heavy merger/acquisition at work, and there's no end to the fires of others I end up having to put out (not that I have no fires of my own).
Recovery going smoothly for you?

It is pretty much done- and now am forced to acclimate to the new normal. With a chunk of me missing (though small) some things are noticably different. I have an appointment on monday as a follow-up with the specialist, so he will likely say I'm alright.
I really do not care to hear that you are not sleeping much. The body NEEDS rest, sir. After so long, you begin to hallucinate and have significant health issues. I'm glad you finally got some rest, but going that long is not healthy. *fatherly glare*

sweatdrop I rested up this weekend, thankfully. I've never gotten groggy while standing before; that was a new unpleasant experience.
E3 is going strong with good showing from multiple parties. Looking forward to Nintendo tomorrow.

I have only the Sony console, so sony is the one I paid most attention to. Honestly, it was mediocre. Yes, Last of Us part II looks amazing, and frankly RE2 remake looks wonderful. But that is the lion's share for me. There was the fleeting hope for something- anything of FF VII. After three years with no concrete news, it feels more and more like vaporware.

I thought Ghost of Tsushima looked amazing, definitely a big surprise, and it's from the SlyCooper/Infamous developers, so you trust the pedigree. The Spiderman game could be good if it can deliver; Spiderman games have a rocky track record. Also nice to see Dragon Quest 11, though that's definitely not to everyone's taste.
Much like FF15, FF7 will come out eventually, but Squenix has already had to scrap the entire effort once or twice thus far. No Deus Ex 5 news either.

It doesn't help that the only game that made me laugh, and really look forward to seeing how it will turn out was presented by Microsoft. When they showed that they are actually working on a new Battletoads, I laughed and thought that was great. That makes me feel very very old. When I mentioned it to anyone I know, they look at me like what the hell is that?
