I started my fanfic today in Word, it's based from the books by Tamora Pierce, the guild I run(sig). @Xero: you make a lovely turtle whee uh a mary sue is when usually a younger writer creates a orginal character (usually female though there are male verisons called gary stus) in puts in an already exsisting world- i.e. an anime show, a book, a movie and writes a fan fiction about it. usually this mary sue is perfect, some tramuamtic past, interesting and odd conection to the main characters of fandom, makes characters fall in love with her, her hair and eyes are sometimes odd, uh ok- I guess you get the idea.
