So can I use more than just the game pokemon as Brock as long as they are from Kanto and aren't too insane?
Darn me picking the early gym leader their pokemon's moves are quite limited so I have to be much more creative...
I guess it doesn't matter, so long as the leader sticks only to the type they run the gym with. Mind you, I can't see Brock using anything other than Geodude or Onix. It's just so... wrong otherwise. xD

If you ever had a rematch with someone, I'd say sure, go nuts with Lombre and Mudkip, although haven't they both evolved? *the last episode of the anime I watched was the one where Max thought he broke May's PokeNav and they went to Devon Corps or something*

Whoops Kilik messed me up with his Lombre. I mean to say Ludicolo. I dunno about Mudkip though but now that you mention it I think it evolved once at least.
