{Kuro Oni : Archadia : Draklor Laboratory}
A dark portal opened within the vast halls of the Archades Empire's labs and from within it stepped out the Nightmare Dreadnaught, Kuro Oni. He took a look at his surroundings, the tall ceiling, circular corridors, and the ornately decorated walls and sophisticated circuitry.
The Dark Gunner let out a long whistle, he had forgotten just how massive the laboratory had actually been in the game, which he only vaguely remembered from his original's memories. His thoughts of being able to just come in, get what he wanted, and get out were going to take some rethinking, at least when it came to the getting what he wanted part.
'So much for this being a walk in the park,' he thought as he made his way down the hallway he had entered into.
The replica's focus shifted to a lift as he heard a distinct chiming sound, the signal to him that the lift had just arrived. He couldn't help but sneer as he cracked his knuckles and neck as the door opened to reveal a few Imperial Swordsmen and Hoplites.
Kuro Oni had expected a more surprised reaction from them as they stepped out of the lift, their heavy suits of armor clanking audibly with each step. However, they approached him without even drawing their weapons and the head swordsman even gave him a salute.
"Doctor Cid has ordered us to escort you to him immediately," the guard stated and the four soldiers broke rank to cover the replicas sides.
The replica was actually somewhat disappointed, he had wanted the pleasure of tossing the tin soldiers around a bit. However, it seemed the Doctor, undoubtedly connected to the darkness through Venat had sensed his arrival and there would be no need for infiltration.
"Hmph... Lead on then," he stated as he lowered his fists as they formed rank around him and began to march forward towards the lift.
He really didn't need an escort, he could follow the sense the darkness that his prize gave off all too clearly. But he supposed it was quicker than going through every guard that he ran into in this lab. It wouldn't take them too long to reach the lab that Cid was in at the time.

[ Cidolfus Bunansa ; ??? : Archadia : Draklor Laboratory Study ]"Indeed, I am quite excited to see the guado's craftsmanship," a bespectacled man spoke as he walked alongside the bookshelves that lined his study. It was a small room compared to the rest of the lab, maybe only 20 feet by 20 feet, with a small desk on one side halfway along the wall, facing the doorway. It was simple, but it was where Cid spent most of his time with his primary colleague, hypothesizing and studying. "They've already had one success? Ah, Ghis' thief! And it was he that--? Splendid," he said, enthusiastic and grinning as he ran a finger along a row of book spines. "His loss is irrelevant. We know they're compatible now! And lo, a boy upon my very doorstep! You've been working overtime.""Hmm? A test further?" he paused, looking up into the air at his shoulder. "The results will have value either way, and his life holds none without our guidance. Progress demands the risk, I agree.""And how far we've already come. This world merger has proven quite fruitful," he said, strolling now to his desk and opening a drawer. He pulled out a purple felt jewelry box, small enough to grasp with one hand, big enough not to be surrounded by his fingers. He held it up to gaze at it momentarily, as if admiring it, before placing it down on the desk. "We were taking grand steps before, but now, our leaps transcend dreary humanity. The awakening pushes us yet further--the reins very nearly in our grasp.""Ah, he arrives!" he said, jubilantly staring down the long hall as the floor's elevator chimed. He remained in place, eagerly awaiting his guest of honor, as the elevator opened somewhere nearby. "We shall gauge mettle yet."

{Kuro Oni : Archadia : Draklor Laboratory Hallway -> Study}
It didn't take too much longer before the replica and the guards arrived at the door to Cid's study. Even before the doors slid open, the replica's enhanced hearing allowed him to pick up on some of the things Cid was saying. Most people assumed to himself. However, the dreadnaught knew better. The scientist was always talking to Venat. As the door opened, and the replica walked inside the guards that had been escorting him dispersed. As soon as Kuro stepped into the room he noted an immediate difference, the room was saturated with darkness, to any normal person it would have been overwhelming, which was probably why the soldiers seemed to not go anywhere near it, the dark aura was definitely palpable. The replica scanned the small room, looking at the book shelves on the wall and then the desk to focus on the Doctor himself.
"Doctor Cid. I'm not sure if I can say it's a pleasure or not to meet you. It's fairly obvious your buddy has told you at least what I am, the name's Kuro Oni. I'm here for at least one thing, but I'm hoping you might be able to help me with the other as well. First and foremost is the manufacted nethicite. Do you have a piece that you can give me?" he asked as he made his way further into the study to stand before the older scientist.

"So hasty," Cid said, watching the young man through his glasses, analyzing his motions. His knowledge of Venat was interesting, but not surprising--he was well-informed of the man's... background. Though he seemed dismissive, his smile revealed amusement. "Such a prize I've worked to obtain for years. By what manner of accomplishment have you earned such a gift? I've yet to see."

Now Kuro Oni remembered why he hadn't wanted to come directly to this man, his mannerisms and the way he spoke were irritating to say the least. If there was one thing the replica wasn't known for, it was his patience, and his fingers clenched into a fist at his side. However, it quickly unclenched, force wouldn't get him what he wanted this time. Venat would stop him and it probably wouldn't do well to piss off an entity directly connected to the darkness. He smirked as he thought how best to respond to this man of high class, typical of the Archadians. He was derived from his original, who was more often than not very logical. Perhaps he could use that logic to persuade the good doctor, though admittedly using that wasn't his strong suit.
"What better way to prove the value of your prize then by letting someone who is fully attuned to the darkness that it is derived from have it? The data you could collect on it's power I imagine would be invaluable. All that I do for the darkness will be from your achievement, What say you to that Doctor?" he asked, his eyes narrowing at the bespectacled man.

"Ah, but you would be number two, I'm afraid," he replied, nonchalantly turning to walk toward the bookshelves again as he grinned. "I believe you know the first such specimen--I hear tell he goes by Ajora."
He let the information simmer for a brief moment as he scanned through the books.
"You replications have turned out to be fascinating tools, truly," he mused, pulling out a book in Archadian script, his attention seemingly split. "If a bit myopic. The box on the desk, my boy. A gift--and investment. What other wisdom do you seek?"

"Ajora eh?" Kuro Oni asked, quirking an eye brow as he approached the box on the desk. "I haven't seen or heard anything of him since the last fight over seas, which is unusual for him. Any idea what happened to him?"
The replica picked up the ornate box and opened it to reveal the shining red stone. The darkness that made it's core seemed to be seeping out of the stone within it's padded box. It certainly was a piece of work, and the power that it held would serve the replica well. He turned his focus to the other item that he needed to acquire. He wondered how much he should tell the Doctor about his plans. However, it wasn't like he needed to hide anything from Cid either.
"The other thing I was wondering if you might be able to help me out with is magicite. I intend to bring back an ancient evil and I require large pieces of magicite to do it," he stated not sure how helpful the doctor would be in this situation. He knew though that Cid had Venat to draw on for knowledge as well, and that in the game at least, the Occuria were the epitome of ancient knowledge.

"Hmm, no you don't," he replied with an odd hint of amusement to his voice. "The Shadow Lord, was it?" he asked, more to himself--or the air behind his shoulder, as his head turned to face it, before he turned his attention back to Kuro Oni. "Magicite is just a collective term, you see, and what you've got there has more than enough power to catalyze the ritual."
"These stones are the fruit of our power and knowledge. More elegant, more refined than those deifacted baubles," he said, sounding all too proud of his achievements. "The wielders of these stones wield too the reins of history. Not all are ready for such heavy burden--such as your colleague."
"Ah, a disappointment, to be sure," he went on, looking toward the wall as his tone seemed genuinely let down. "But when he awoke the Darkness--for which we are all quite grateful--he hesitated and recoiled. It was not that he failed, rather, he refused to succeed. Such magnificent a crystal, this Heart of Atlantis, and so close to consumption. He required more direct persuasion to even attempt, and still his will rebelled, choosing instead the pitiless death."
"It was by our mercy he was spared, you see. Still he spurned us and lashed out before fleeing. Where, we know not," he finished with a shrug, turning back to Kuro. "His is a tale of caution. The stone is heavier than it appears, for what it lacks in weight it makes up with purpose. Take the stone to heart, wield its might and infinite wisdom, and wrest control of history--if you dare it."

{Kuro Oni : Archadia : Draklor Laboratory Study}
Kuro Oni's curious gaze remained locked on the old man as he corrected him and explained that the Nethicite he held was far more powerful than the magicite that he had been seeking. He was also surprised that it seemed that Venat at least knew of the Shadow Lord, which he chalked up to the connection to the darkness. He remembered now just how truly proud of the manufacted nethicite Cid was, his pride evident in every word that he said about the stone. The man was also very big on fate and the reigns of history, that much he hadn't forgotten about him.
"Well, it's good to know that I won't have to worry about hauling around a ton of magicite then. That makes my task a hell a lot easier."
The replica's gaze turned serious as the Doctor explained what had happened to Ajora. He hadn't seen much of the Dark Dragoon since before the battle aboard the Pearl. In fact, he hadn't seen him at all since the start of that battle, though he knew he had gone down to Atlantis. How in the end Ajora had been defeated and fled from the fiends. He wondered if the other replicas even knew about that. It seemed now that Cid was challenging him to rise even higher than Ajora did, which caused a smirk to appear on the replica's face.
"I do dare it. Unlike Ajora, I have no intentions of going against the darkness from which I came. I openly embrace it's power and the destiny that it has for me, Here goes nothing!"
Without further ado, the replica took the nethicite held the stone in his fingers and slowly, gently pushed it against his chest, at first it merely looked like it made contact with his flesh, but then slowly began to sink into his skin, the stone emanating darkness in curling wisps and beams as it vanished into his chest, the darkness seemed to seep out from the replica's core and wrapped around him into what looked like a cocoon of obsidian for his transformation.
---
Minutes later it was complete and the obsidian cocoon opened and wrapped itself around Kuro Oni once again before disappearing, the replica's eyes opened, flashing golden for a brief second before returning to their crimson red as he gently landed on the study floor, his boots tapping lightly as their toes touched. All in all, he looked the same aside from the noticeable crystal that was now imbedded in his chest where an old battle scar had once been. The scarred tissue now seemed to wrap around the stone, as if it had always been there. The dark gunner felt amazing, better than he ever had before. He could feel it, the darkness so close to the surface that he could unleash it without even a thought. Looking at the replica's twisted smile on his face, was more than enough to sum up how he felt. Words were not necessary.{Kuro Oni has reached level 7
At this time Kuro Oni's stats have yet to be decided}

[ Cidolfus Bunansa ; Venat : Archadia : Draklor Laboratory Study ]Cid could only smirk as the replica absorbed the Nethicite, watching with analytical gaze how he absorbed the crystallized darkness. As the cocoon enveloped the young man, the scientist chuckled to himself. "Success abounds of late, Venat," he mused once Kuro was encased, unable to hear him. "They'll be most pleased with this report."--- As Kuro recomposed himself after awakening, he would have noticed some distinct changes in his surroundings--or, more accurately, how he perceived them. Most obvious was the sudden appearance of Venat behind Cid's side, its bluish hues distorting reality itself around it, golden eyes watching the replica without blinking. It was at that point that Kuro would have realized the overpowering darkness in to room hadn't been from the crystal, but from the Occurian observer--he would see the darkness and mist seeping from the entity, not on a visible scale, but subliminal, beneath the surface of reality, so thickly that it might have seemed a very tear in existence had led to the dark realms. Turning to Cid, Kuro's subliminal sense would have noted an odd difference--the replica could "see" strange layers underneath, within the man before him, the tos and fros of essence, bright and dim, glimmering yet shaded. It wouldn't take more than a moment to realize what he was seeing was, essentially, Cid's heart, much the same way a Heartless might see it. In Cid's particular instance, the darkness far outweighed the light, giving his subliminal hue an ominous, opaque appearance. "Welcome back, my boy," Cid finally said, smirking in return. "Shadow-wed, the black moon is born anew," spoke the androgynous Venat, its voice more akin to numerous than solitary. "Eclipse on high, glory arise 'erelong. Go forth, embraced, and consecrate your truth."

[[Rufus : ShinRa Headquarters : Main Office]]
Rufus never shifted his eyes from the young man, a discerning gaze, like a big cat sizing up his prey. The young man's answer did not come as a surprise to him, at least, none that showed upon the CEO's face. He merely flattened out the paperwork on the desk and continued, "I see. That's a shame. One would hope more with your level of gifts would be reliable. Still, I'm glad you came out of the battle relatively unscathed," Rufus turned the page of his report, "Regardless... do you believe they would be willing to cooperate with ShinRa? Tseng informed me that their average disposition left a lot to be desired."

Kuro Oni's attention shifted from marveling at the power that he felt within him, back to Cid and with the Doctor, the now visible Venat. He had not forgotten what the Occuria had looked like, but it was definitely a different experience to see one in person, especially considering the entirety of the dark aura within the room was coming from it and nothing else.. It was definitely going to take some getting used to, both seeing the Occuria as well as Cid's essence which was clearly more geared to the darkness than the light. He simply nodded his head as Cid welcomed him back.
That was when Venat spoke for the first time in that strange multiple voiced way that was indicative of all Occuria from what he remembered deep meaning within the mysterious words that it spoke.
"I don't even feel like myself anymore, this is awesome!" he stated, clearly ecstatic. If this is the way that everyone who had experienced the power of Nethicite had felt, then it was no wonder that Cid was so exuberant about it, so proud of his accomplishment.
For the first time since they had awakened, Kuro Oni was doing things his own way, he had his own direction that he was taking and so far everything was going according to plan.
"I never thought these words would come out of my mouth Doctor Cid, but thank you very much, this is simply incredible," for the first time since he had come to be, the replica was being sincere too. "I'm off to cause some hell now, later," he stated as he opened a portal and turned to enter it. As he stood at it's opening, he slowly turned back to Cid again and raised his right fist in triumph as he faded into the darkness.

Yen Sid was silent, looking at the girl. After a moment, he nodded.
"The offer shall stand indefinitely. We do not conscript soldiers, nor shall we hold volunteers against their will," he explained, both to her and the rest of the crew present. "You'll receive no coercion or forced duty on our parts, though so long as you do work alongside us, you will be expected to follow the chain of command."
Still, he paused. Merlin even seemed hesitant, looking between the two.
"As for your stay after the fact... that is not entirely up to me," he spoke. "We do not know how the worlds will react once this battle ends. When last the worlds were forcefully altered and restored, people were immediately returned to their homeworlds. If such happened with Earth, we have no guarantee that we could contact you, based on our current issues in research."
"However, should we have such the option, then there would be no point in denying you. This convergence has made the world balance... tenuous, at best," he went on to say, sighing. "For many ages, the worlds have been kept separate, ignorant of each other. This has kept potential evil at its origin, preventing the spread of Darkness. Now, though... the worlds have come together. The veil has been lifted from their eyes. I predict after our issues are resolved, should the worlds separate again, interstellar travel will become common place. Even now, cultures intermingle. There would be no point in trying to restrict it now."

[Kyla: Disney: Hall of the Cornerstone]
 Kyla lowered her book again as she listened to his answer, feeling Merlin’s eyes upon them as they seemed to gauge each other. Being under Yen Sid’s gaze wasn’t easy- she’d grown up with the idea full established that there was no point lying to him. If a wise man was smart enough to sense dishonesty, then a wizard to boot was something you dare not cross. It felt like Yen Sid had the power to look further into her then just her expression. So she kept her very thoughts honest as well. She wanted to stay, but she had to go. But if even the chance to make a real home for herself someday- she would like to have at least something small to look forward to if possible. For a wizard as powerful as him it stood to reason she didn’t have to explain much as to why she would ask such a question- still, just assuming she’d be welcome to stay if the chance arose was a bit rude in its presumptuousness. Still the answer she received told her a few things she was curious about, and it gave her some ideas for later. For now- this was enough. “Well, that’s good enough for me.” She smiled.
Kyla was staying with the group at the front lines, wherever they would be. She only hoped Maggie could forgive her.

{Bobbi .:. Disney Castle .:. Hall of the Cornerstone}
Bobbi sighed as she got closer to the Cornerstone, reveling a little in how the almost overpowering essence of Light seemed to wash away all her troubles. Still, there was a niggling little worry or twelve in the back of her mind; the Cornerstone just made them easier to deal with. Although, she had a feeling that whatever Yen Sid had to say would add to that worry. She was right, of course.
She certainly didn't like hearing that Kairi had been kidnapped; she agreed with Sora and Riku that they should have been told. For one thing, they could have kept an eye out for her. For another, she understood all too well what it was like to learn that a close friend was in danger after the danger had already passed. She hated not knowing if someone she cared about needed help, so she wasn't even remotely surprised when Sora and Riku blew up. On the other hand, she understood Yen Sid's reasoning, especially considering they already had so much on their plates and the chances of being able to do something were slim.
Always two sides to a coin, Bobbi thought, crossing her arms as she focused on what Yen Sid was saying. For some reason, learning that they couldn't find any information on Earth wasn't as much of a surprise as it probably should have been. She had a theory, especially considering how Hawaii was originally part of Earth, but since she didn't have anything concrete to go off of, Bobbi held her peace. As Yen Sid told them they were no longer obliged to risk their lives for this world, Bobbi nodded thoughtfully, and bit her lip. As the others spoke, she listened to what they had to say, though she didn't look anyone in the eyes.
~:What will you choose?:~ Shiva asked softly. Bobbi couldn't detect any emotional overtones from her Esper, which made her think Shiva wanted something of her, but didn't want to influence her. Well, she was likely to do her Esper proud.
"Oh, I'm staying, of course," Bobbi said with a shrug, as if her response was obvious. Well, to her it was. She didn't even have to think about it; her decision had been made when she came back from Disney Castle just a couple of days ago. "Staying in the fight, that is. I… I've come too far and have too much to fight for to give up now. I will see this through to the end, and nothing is going to stop that. I'm done being weak and ineffectual. For the first time in my life, I'm useful, and I'm not about to throw that gift away. Besides, Dip and Stick over there couldn't last more than ten minutes without me," she added, jabbing her thumb at Dawn and James. As Kyla asked if they could stay after all was said and done, though, Bobbi's heart started beating with excitement she tried to repress. The chance to stay here? In a world where she wasn't some useless nobody? Sign her up!
"I'd like to stay at the end, too," she admitted softly, staring directly at Kyla with an understanding smile.

Janex's lip curled in disgust as the intruder tried to flirt with her. Her! Ha! It was so pathetic it was almost cute, really. Still, he was invading the sanctuary she had chosen for herself, and she wasn't about to stand for it. She snorted in contempt as Lucian arranged himself to best display his package, though.
"My ex's was bigger," she sneered, and allowed her arrow to dissipate. "And yeah, I am here alone. I kind of like it that way. Crash and GTFO, Lucy. If I find you here tomorrow, I'll eviscerate you."
She turned her back on him and walked out of the room, tossing a quick "don't let the portcullis hit you in the a** on your way out" over her shoulder as she walked down the hallway.
