Dari smiled and nodded. "Alright. There's nothing especially important going on in... ah." His confidential activities. "I mean there's nothing at work that means I couldn't come back to your early. Do you want me to stay until you feel better? While working."
He wrapped an arm around Cody's waist as they headed out of the pharmacy.

"Okay," Cody agreed. He was reluctant, but as long as Dari agreed to go to work, it was fine. "One day, you'll tell me your secrets," he teased, stifling a yawn. He pulled out his wallet and took out a twenty. He offered it to Dari. "Just liquids and soup," he said. "Maybe a box of tissues?"

Dari smiled and pushed Cody's hand away.
"I don't want your germy money. What's your favorite Gatorade?" Dari had only ever tried one, and he wasn't sure if he'd liked it or not. He was pretty sure Cody would want Gatorade over Pedialyte, though. "Or are you a Powerade kind of guy?"

"Hm... I like the Orange flavor," Cody mused. He almost protested and insisted Dari take the money. "I love you," he said. "Thank you for coming today."

Dari grinned. "Of course. I'd kiss you if you didn't have such a fever."
He laughed slightly and parked, then kissed Cody's hair. "I'll be back as fast as I can, I promise."
Except when Dari came back, it wasn't with bags full of cans. He wasn't going to feed his love canned soup. He was going to make some from scratch via Toby's instructions and save it in the fridge and freezer! He'd called the werewolf from inside the grocery store as he literally sprinted up and down the aisles.
That went in the trunk. Cody got the orange Gatorade and the tissues, though, and Dari swung back into the driver's seat to head back for Cody's apartment.

"Homemade soup?" Cody asked, blinking in disbelief as he saw the contents of the bags. He was getting spoiled! He couldn't remember the last time he'd had homemade soup. "Love, you don't need to go to that much trouble..."

Dari just smiled to Cody. "It's going to take a few hours, so I did buy a couple of cans, and some ice cream too. Just in case." Cody seemed happy. Good! Food was family and friends and happiness. Toby and Maia had taught him that.
"It's no trouble. I want to do it for you."

Ice cream? Cody seemed to perk up at that. He gave Dari a smile. "I love you," he said. He kissed his cheek. "Let's pick a movie over ice cream."

Dari smiled and nodded. It was an older set of mannerisms, perhaps sneaking out because of how comfortable Cody made him. He gave Cody's hand a squeeze and headed for home. Apparently making chicken noodle soup took something like 6 hours of just...waiting. They could watch a few movies. Mostly he just wanted Cody to feel better, though. Hopefully the ice cream would help soothe his throat.

Once home, Cody turned on the television and selected a number of movies from his DVD case. He offered them to Dari and sat on the couch, coughing into his elbow. "There's no way you're not getting this," he said. "I've probably been contagious for days."

Dari was busy putting the soup together, but he did look over the movies.
"Eh. That's alright. I'll use the special federal-agent-only drugs they keep on-hand for us. Take your drugs and put in this one." He bumped one of the DVD cases with the back of a wooden spoon and then put the lid on the pot. "Do you want ice cream? I could scoop you a bowl."

Cody put in the movie indicated, frowning at Dari. "Can I help?" he asked. Dari needed a break too! Especially if he was going to be getting sick. He took his medicine with a swallow of gatorade.
"Come sit with me. I'm lonely." Maybe whining would convince Dari to sit down?

"No, not with your... viral contamination. We're going to need to do a full decontamination of this apartment in a week. I've got connections." This was all while Dari was making Cody a bowl of ice cream and a smaller one for himself. He came in as Cody whined and laughed.
"I'm coming! Here." He offered Cody his bowl and spoon. "Maybe it'll make your throat feel better."
He sidled up as close as he could, settling his bowl in his lap and wrapping one arm around Cody to bring him close.
He liked this. His people didn't get days off to just be sick and be taken care of. It was nice! Well, it was nice from the other side! He was glad he had so much time off saved up!

"It's the flu, not the plague," Cody protested. He snuggled close to Dari when he joined him. "Your brother dad modes and you mom mode. I'm fine," He assured him, taking a bite of his ice cream. The cold did help his throat, and rewarded Dari with a smile.
"I love you. Don't worry so much."

Dari shook his head and played with Cody's curls a bit.
"I'm not worried. I just like taking care of you the best I can," he said. He smiled to his love and kissed him on the cheek. Maybe Cody hadn't realized he was joking? Well, anyway.
"I love you too. Not just anyone gets home-made chicken soup." And it'd be ready for dinner too. He snuggled in close as the movie started and took his first spoonful of ice cream. Mmmm.
