Jake nods and walks down a random path. He just so happened to have taken the darkest path possibly, especially since he had his sunglasses on. He then hears rustling from a nearby bush.

Defeated, the Team Plasma grunts fled. Neither of them seemed to have the missing fossil on them, though. Eventually Team Aqua met back up again, empty-handed. "I'm gonna start feeling ridiculous if I have to wander around here anymore." Maddy said, clearly annoyed. Suddenly, a man in a green robe stepped out from behind some bushes. He wielded a cane with a green gem on top. The man tapped the ground with the end of his cane. There was a flash of green light and more grunts appeared. "I wonder if this sage has a power like the others..."
[Reserve. Fight 2 grunts with 4 Pokémon each. The sage's power will randomly revive 1 of each foe's fallen Pokémon. This effect can happen immediately or take effect later on in the battles.]

The second batch of Team Plasma grunts were sent running. As the sage fled with them, he dropped a fossil on the ground. Judging by the shape, it was a Dragonite skull. "Just a Dragonite?" Maddy said, picking up the skull and frowning on it. "Well, that's nothing special. What would they want a Dragonite?" In Maddy's personal opinion, Zekrom was the stronger and cooler Dragon-type. She turned to her comrades. "Well, I guess I'll go return the skull to it's rightful owner. It may be less stressful if only just one of us returns to the city, so I'll take care of it." She placed the skull carefully into her handbag and tightened the strap, making sure it was nice and secure at the same time. "I'll make sure you're all well-rewarded tomorrow morning." Maddy said with a smile before walking off.

Reserve. Fight 2 grunts with 4 Pokémon each. The sage's power will randomly revive 1 of each foe's fallen Pokémon. This effect can happen immediately or take effect later on in the battles.
Noivern, Tangela, Torchic, Dwebble Aerodactyl, Avalugg, Magmortar, Luxray
As the man tapped his rod on the ground, Rei was suddenly far too close to two rather hideous goons. He took a few steps back, wrinkling his nose.
"That's rude," the first goon complained as he pulled out a Poké Ball.
"Indeed," chimed in the second.
Rei had no patience for talking, his attention on the man with the glowing stick. The three threw out their Pokémon, and the battle was on. A Noivern and Aerodactyl faced off against a grumbling Jolteon and Kingdra.
"Leviathan, Focus Energy, then Dragon Pulse on Noivern. Cryogonal, Light Screen and Ice Beam. You know what to do," he muttered as he pulled out a slender device. "It can't be too different from those other rods from earlier," he hoped inwardly as he began typing away. With a final click, he closed the device and laughed as the man with the cane shrieked out in horror. The gem glowed and burst apart, much to Rei's amusement. He turned back to see that the battle was going smoothly, the Aerodactyl and Noivern already defeated by his capable, slightly injured team. The goons returned their team, replacing Flying-types with Fire. Deciding that he'd rather not subject his Cryogonal to torture, he swapped it for an eager-to-please Gyarados.
"Mosca, Aqua Tail. Don't worry about Leviathan, she'll be fine." The formidable Gyarados summoned water from its tail and thrashed about wildly, drenching the area and bowling over the poor Torchic. Magmortar growled and punched Gyarados square in the face; it wasn't the first to underestimate him. The shocking punch sent Mosca reeling backwards, enraged at its foolishness. Leviathan laughed at her friend's folly, zooming in at the Magmortar's cannon opening and firing a Brine attack. The attack was devastating, and the Magmortar fainted. The two goons looked at each other in surprise; without their fearless sage leader, their confidence was shot.
"That's not fair."
"Not fair indeed."
"Shut it," Rei grumbled. He never liked cheaters, and with every encounter with the group, he was finding himself hating Team Plasma more and more. He returned his Pokémon and sent out his next partners, Salamence and Mawile. The goons countered with an Avalugg and Tangela. The Tangela quickly rooted itself into the ground, hoping to endure punishment for the round while its partner absorbed the damage. Avalugg, taking an Iron Head attack relatively well, sent out a punishing Blizzard; only by using Protect was Salamence able to survive the attack and retaliate. Deciding that Avalugg was the far more dangerous target, the two combined their efforts and rampaged against the Avalugg. As they focused in on the giant block of ice, Tangela quietly poisoned the huge Dragon. Salamence's surprise was complete when he fainted after defeating the huge Ice-type. How...? Tangela laughed in wicked glee, then cried in pain as it was utterly destroyed by a furious Mawile.
The final pair of Pokémon, Dwebble and Luxray, were a little intimidating for Mawile to handle alone. She turned to Rei and glared, as if to accuse him of losing her best partner. Cryogonal appeared before Rosetta, pulling out another Light Screen and Reflect combination. She sighed; at least Cryogonal was useful. Balling her fists, she charged at the Dwebble, crushing the little bug with her powerful steel frame, and cried out a challenge to the Luxray. It largely ignored the Mawile, knowing its true enemy was the one sending out all the buffs and defenses. It sent bolts of lightning at the Cryogonal, who was still setting up barriers. It took the hit in stride, completing the wall construction with enough time to make the hexagonal panels glitter. Luxray continued its assault on the Cryogonal, ignoring the increasingly dangerous Mawile. Eventually, it could not ignore the huge set of teeth clamped firmly on its face. It growled, and sent a powerful wave of electricity down Mawile's throat. As it fired, however, Cryogonal finally sent its attack Luxray's way, taking advantage of its many gaping wounds. The Mawile and Luxray were together defeated, and Cryogonal stood victorious. It cried with delight and prepared to shoot ice at the goons themselves, but they fled before it could fire.
"Shame," Rei commented to his Cryogonal. Neither he nor his Pokémon forgot what happened at Coumarine City.

Maddy was sitting near the large fountain in Castelia City. She wanted to get out of the city again, maybe hunt down some more Team Plasma grunts. "What cities are we even welcome in here..." She muttered to herself. The gym leader of Nacrene City hadn't been very happy to see them, and she was sure that other communities in Unova felt the same way. They had rescued the Pokémon from Coumarine City already, so maybe they were better off just leaving this region to deal with it's own problem... No. Team Plasma was psychotic and already had such a powerful footing in the region that only outside help could save Unova now. Maddy crossed her arms. Was she losing her nerve?

Caleb was conveniently at the vending machines nearby, stocking up. Marshtomp was practically drooling as he looked over the cans and bottles of refreshments in his arms. He wanted to drink them all right now!

Jake looks down from the ledge from a building he was hanging out on. He wanted a good look of the city. He spots both Caleb and Maddy and decides to go see what they were doing, under the impression they would be meeting up soon. Maddy was closer, so after a short walk he approaches her. "Hey Maddy." He greets her upon approach.

Rose was out walking with her Sylveon and spotted Maddy and the others over by the fountain, and she rushed over to them, her Sylveon seemed to be in quite a good mood. "Hey, boss" Rose said in greeting "In a sour mood about something?" she asked in observation.

Maddy looked up as she was approached by a couple people. "Hey." She greeted Jake and Rose. She merely shrugged at Rose's question. "Nah, I'm fine." She forced herself to stand up; that bench was really comfy. "Let's go somewhere random." Maddy reached into her pocket and pulled out her TADS, bringing up a map of Unova. "Hmm... Striaton City looks boring. And it has a place called a Dreamyard. Let's try there?"

"Maybe the dreamyard is a place where nightmare's go to die" Rose answered jokingly "In all seriousness, though, it sounds like a fine idea. I wonder what kind of Pokemon we can find there, if it's even a place where Wild Pokemon can be found."

"Dreamyard? Makes me think of Kirby." Jake says, giving an off-the-top-of-his-head response. "I'm a little curious as to what that is. Let's check it out." He shrugs.
