Glassy: I tried playing it without a guide, but I wasn't able to advance anywhere, as it turned out I had to be in a specific portion of the beach on a specific minute of the game during day 2 (which lasts maybe ten seconds IRL).
Because I hadn't figured that out (as there's no hints saying anything about a beach in-game) I kept warping back in time those five days, over and over. It gave me loads of frustration. Also, upon reading the guide, I found out that because I'd missed certain mini-boss groups and leveling areas, I was at least 12 levels under the average (which is a ton for that game).

Glass: It's called "Ephemeral Phantasia" and it's for the PS2. It looks a bit low-end quality compared to other games of the genre, but I still love it. There's a talking guitar in the game called Pattimo, which you're able to play a DDR-style minigame with. It deals with holding certain buttons down and plucking the strings with O as the colors rise to the bar up top (just as arrows rise in DDR).
The one thing that was annoying to me was the lack of vocals, since it came out during a time when vocals in games are near must. There's very quiet background noise (since you're on an island the whole time) so the lack of voices makes it a very quiet game overall, which sort of upsets the gaming mood (at least for me XD ).

Alright I checked this game out... and its gonna be cheaper to buy the game than rent it. So I called up EBGames and I'll just pick it up tomorrow. Tell you if I can get through it with the guide or not.

We'll see about that. I'll make it through one way or another, and I don't plan on using the other. There isn't a game out there that I can't beat. Just name it and give me some time.
