That's a word i hope catches on more; it's quite convenient.
It's part of what helps us survive so effectively, but it can definitely backfire.
Regarding alarms; it's scary how adept i am at turning it off in my sleep when i'm not well-rested.
Somehow still busy despite vacation; granted, much more enjoyable, but time-consuming things nonetheless. Eh, such is the holidays & fixing up the house.

Of that, I have little doubt. You have been here with me for far too long for any shred of disbelief to exist. I'm just dealing with a lot of frustration and anger issues at the moment. Part of it stems from my doctor's appointment. The doctor was rude and showed no compassion at all. He also told me that I am doing the right thing . . . but he wants me to have surgery anyway. Even though in the next sentence he said It might not work, and the infection could come back because I'm fat.
Yeah. was not happy at all. Still am not.

A shame doctor's in this day & age still don't have bedside manner.
Surgery sounds pretty serious; I hope it can be resolved without needing that.

Do not worry. It is only an infection in a sensitive area. If, and this is a massive if, I decide to go through with the procedure, it would be a 15-minute thing that would have me in and out of the hospital within half a day. My point is that he wanted to go to the most extreme solution first- ignoring that I have no health insurance, limited funds, and researched this issue to find out what my options were. He was extremely disappointing. In fact, there is supposed to be a follow-up in February, and I sincerely doubt I will go to that meeting unless I have no significant choice.

Glad it would only amount to an out-patient procedure in the worst case. Yeah, that's part of a medical recommendation, taking financials into account; there are some "meh" eggs out there.
What's your opinion of the Big 5 personality index?

Again, I did my homework on the situation and was prepared to have an intelligent discussion. Instead, the man spoke negatively about my weight, told me he wants to cut parts off of me, and ignored anything less until I pressed hard at the idea of antibacterial and similar ointments. He still ignored the traditional steroid creme option that would fight the infection and promote healing, but whatever. It was ridiculous.
I had not heard of this theory prior, and my first thought is why not? More importantly, I hope that there is room for not only the big five traits, but the inverse of them as well. A negative value meaning the opposite of the term. One of which is neuroticism, so a reverse of that would be something akin to normalcy.

That's such a shame; too many doctors by virtue of their IQ & high education achievement, talk down to their patients. it is becoming less common, but it will be ever present due to the human condition. Even when I, coming from a medical family, show proficiency with correct medical terminology, I still get treated like an idiot every once in a while. Each trait is rated on a 1-100 scale, so the inverses are implied by low scores. Agreeableness -> Disagreeableness Conscientiousness -> Casual-ness Extraversion -> Introversion Neuroticism -> Stability Openness -> Closed-ness I just really like that it has tons of scientific backing, unlike MBTI, Enneagram, etc... Still feel MBTI is marginally useful, but good to have a tried & tested one around for when it really matters. For instance, I am (having taken a legitimate test, not some free online thing): Agreeableness 20th percentile Conscientiousness 52nd percentile (really didn't like this result not being higher, but it was true upon self-reflection) Extraversion 1st percentile Neuroticism 78th percentile Openness to Experience 83rd percentile

Interesting. Unfortunately, I have never truly worked in any significant fashion in the field. All I've done was some support work years upon years ago. I'm so far out of the loop that I don't have any confidence in what I learned anymore.
I admit to being curious about taking that test, though.

The test I took is partly from the psychology professor I mentioned a few months ago; personality psychology is one of his specialties.
Check your PMs.
