Yeah, with Lumbering Behemoth out of the picture vanilla Russ tanks certainly took a turn for worse. I'm sad that my old tool-boxes on treads are no longer as effective as they once were.

Actually, after researching the rules carefully, the Lumbering Behemoth rules now states the Leman Russ is a considered a Heavy Tank, which is a unit characteristic. The rules state that a Heavy Tank can not move faster than Combat speed, and may never elect to Move flat out. That means, the Leman can only move a maximum of 6' per turn, but with that considered, it can fire all of its weapons at BS, because it will be considered stationary the entire time, even if it moved.

So, from my research, the made the Lemans more like a Chaos Obliterator, slow and purposeful. I am glad the Lemans became even more dangerous, hazzaaahhh! xd
You may want to read the bit about vehicles shooting with ordnance weapons though. When a vehicle fires an ordnance weapon all other weapons on the vehicle can only perform snap-fire shots.
Yes, this. Page 71 of the rulebook, at the bottom right corner.

So I noticed before in my research, but I do not really run ordinary Leman Russes with Battle Cannons. Yes I will have to mind the rule with my Demolisher, but I run various variations of the Leman Russ and most of them do not use Ordnance s. So I will not have to worry about that rule too much. Still, the Lemans without the Ordnance is still a moving weapons platform.

I have though about making a pfd list. Im just not sure how the codex will take that.

Shouldn't be too difficult really. If you think about it, you are a simple IG army. I am just sure that if you try to run the PDF list like a PDF army in the novels and such, you will be limiting yourself with restrictions, and such.

That is my own opinion, but then again, your choice. You could always make custom rules for the army, and if you want to play with it, explain it with your opponent and let them decide if they will let you play them or not.

I just wanted to know before I invest in a codex.

Once upon a time the PDF's of a planet were thought to be weak and ineffective, mostly thanks to mister Abnett and a few other authors, which is a bit rude actually. It would be very rude indeed if you were to look at say, the Cadian Interior Guard, which is made up of professional soldiers who have been trained since birth and made up of 10% of their tithes.

Now, not that all PDF's are strong and effective, but it is rather rude to think of them all as weak and ineffective.

That is true and forgive me for thinking so, but I have thought of them, slightly inexperienced in battles, because they are like the national guard. Some see little action, except the various veterans that are sent to train and monitor. That is my opinion.

Another thing about 'restrictions' is for PDFs, and even some guard would lack in certain thing, like maybe heavy tanks, maybe air support, maybe storm troopers, something to make them unique to play as because they lack certain units, but you can always learn to adapt.

It is a little weird yes, but that is something I been thinking of play with. Though I am still playing with my lists, but I will do that and make the army specialized.

PDF are asgood as their combat experience...and even some planets that haven't been invaded recently have populations that support some of best "local defence". Think Necromunda hive gangers or Catachan PDF. As far as I remember no Chaos warlord or Ork Big Boss were crazy enought ot even WANT TO conquer Catachan...

Well, who in their right mind would have invade a planet filled with Arnold Schwarzenegger?!? That is suicide.

Everything else on the planet probably doesn't help, either.

Catachan has been invaded by Orks before. It did not end well for them.

All right, I need some opinions with the Psyker Battle Squad. I ran them only twice, and I had them work perfectly well sometimes, however, there been times when they just started to rip each other to pieces.

Any opinions on if they are useful and worth the costs?

Well the idea is that they are formed on my Chapter's homeworld and they take them with them to battle.

The idea I had was they were have autoguns in place of Lasguns for most of them.

Alright, well. I suppose I should post this here, but the Elysians are 2-0 as of today.

Murdered a Tau army, then followed it up by a solid win over a Pedro Kantor army.

Drop troops ho!

Nice job. So, tell me, does your entire army deep strikes or arrives on first turn?
