Noibat perched on Caleb's shoulder once they had found the stairs. Caleb carefully rubbed a finger on her forehead. She squeaked before pushing his finger away. Now was not the time for that. They had more important business at hand!
Caleb casually walked up the stairs, not really in a hurry at all. It had been Rei and Allen that were insistent about finding the park. He squinted a bit at the sudden light. Much brighter compared to the dark sewers.
"Might as well see what is here..." Caleb muttered.

Caleb nudged his Noibat. With a nod, she swooped down from his shoulder and into the taller grass. A bit of rustling was followed by an eerie silence. A powerful gust of wind suddenly kicked up in the grass, then a commotion of angry pokemon cries. An Eevee stumbled out of the grass. Noibat strutted out right after it, looking pleased with herself.
Caleb grinned and shook his head before tossing an Ultra Ball at the Eevee. The ball locked shut after rocking a couple times on the ground.

The tall grass tickled Rei's nose, and he sneezed.
"Gah. Sorry, Countess," Rei apologized to his now disgusted Zubat, who was in the line of fire. A familiar laugh sounded from behind the trainer, causing the Aquan to spin from his spot. On the grass rolling on the floor with laughter was an Eevee, who had witnessed the nasal assault.
"Oh, an Eevee! Perfect," Rei said, in hopes of redirecting the attention from himself to anything else. He pulled out an empty Quick Ball, hoped for the best, and chucked it at the Eevee's head. In three clicks, the ball sealed shut.
"Well, that was easy," he remarked, pocketing the ball.

Caleb plopped down underneath the closest tree in the area. His pokémon had gone off to explore the park. Carefully, he unwrapped his hand, grimacing at the colors of his knuckles. Black, blue, purple and even a slight green. Not a pretty sight. At least the cuts and scrapes were slowly starting to heal.
"Liiil!"
Caleb looked up to see his Petitlil carrying some herbs and what looked like a spiky leaf. Whimsicott behind her, smiling gently. They were followed by a small group of Petilil and Cottonee. They all were wearing flower crowns. Before he could react, Petilil started rubbing the broken end of the leaf on his hand. Whimsicott sprinkled the crushed herbs on top. Caleb blinked a bit, "uh...thanks..." His hand was feeling better already. He dug some fresh bandages from his bag before wrapping his hand up again.
The grass types were pleased, they started bouncing and spinning around.
"Today turned out a little better than expected I guess..." Caleb muttered.
He looked up from his bag to notice his Petilil playing with the others. She seemed lighter than the others. Her purple eyes didn't match the red of the others. Caleb felt like he had just experienced an epiphany. He sat there staring for a moment before he pulled out his TADS.
"Well that explains a LOT!"
Silly Caleb.

Sunlight danced down through the leaves high above Maddy's head as she walked through Pinwheel Forest. She had had a fairly hectic week, so she had decided to go for a stroll through the forest instead of wander around Castelia City. Besides, the city was a little too busy for her. Castelia wasn't nearly as big as Lumiose, but it sure had more things going on.
Her hands in her pockets, Maddy decided to take a break and rest against a nearby tree. She peered around for a bit before taking a cigarette from her coat pocket and lighting it up.
"Sweet freedom..." She muttered, taking a long drag off the smoke.
She took her TADS out of her pocket to check her messages. Maybe the others were up to something more exciting...
She was walking off of the main path, so she didn't notice a few Team Plasma grunts walking by, heading to Nacrene City.

Jake was sitting down on his favorite bench. He sighs and looks up at the sky. It's been awhile since Star left to become her own person or something and Jake hasn't heard from her at all.
"..... I guess she really is happier by herself." He sighs.

Vibrava flew overhead as Caleb snuck through the forest after the Team Plasma grunts. His Noibat seemed disgruntled, clearly not enjoying tree branches and leaves getting in her face. She squeaked her dismay as she swatted another leaf away. Then the faint smell of cigarette smoke.
"Which way?" Caleb called.
"Vaaaaaa," Vibrava replied.
Noibat pointed her wing towards an array of trees. Caleb sighed but hurried along.

Maddy's smoke was about halfway finished now.
As she flicked through her messages, she passed Jake's name.
"Hmm... I should see what he's up to."
She sent Jake a message.
"Hey. Care to take a walk through Pinwheel Forest? It's a nice change from the city."
She proceeded to look through her list of contacts some more and soon found Caleb's name. Something told her she wouldn't need to message him, though...

Jake sent her a message back.
"Yeah I'm down. I'll meet you there."
He sighs and gets up. He tries to shake Star's angry words from his mind as he ventures off to meet the leader.
"I've got a bad feeling about tonight..." He mumbles to himself.

"Oh hi Maddy," Caleb said as he rushed past her. Wait Maddy? He stopped in his tracks before turning around. Vibrava flew circles above them. "Just keep tracking them...we'll catch up," Caleb called. The Vibrava waved her tail before disappearing over the trees. Noibat gave a tired squeak before giving Maddy a small wave.

Maddy looked up as Caleb randomly appeared before her.
"Hey."
She was surprised to find another person out here, let alone someone she knew. She closed her TADS and pocketed it.
"You seem to be up to something." She said, noting his Vibrava flying off. Did she catch him saying the word 'tracking'? "What's up?"

"Something up?" Jake asks as he approaches the two Aquas. He has a lit cigarette in his mouth? "Don't tell me my bad feeling is true is it?"

"Not much really...just spotted some of those Team Plasma shitheads leaving Castelia. Since they're never up to any good, I figured I'd follow them and see what they were up to."
Oh look, Jake showed up too. Caleb waved. Well at least he didn't have to call for backup now. Caleb whipped out his TADS and pulled up a map of Unova.
"So Castellia City...we're here in Pinwheel Forest right? It looks like they're heading this way." He tapped Nacrene City's marker on the map.

Maddy scratched her chin, bored, as she looked at the map.
"Other than the gym and maybe the museum, there isn't anything of interest out in these parts."
She frowned.
"They're probably collecting more 'taxes'."
The word 'taxes' hung heavily for her. Were the Pokémon in Coumarine City mere taxes as well? What price did Kalos owe Team Plasma? Ghetsis and his sages were just a band of mad men.
"Well, let's head to Nacrene and see what's up. If anything, we'll get to beat them up some more."
She removed a Poké Ball from her belt, just in case, and lead Jake and Caleb back onto the path heading towards Nacrene City.
"How did last week go after, anyway? I was a bit tied up."

Jake sighs after hearing Team Plasma.
"It was alright." Jake shrugs in response to Maddy's question.
"Any idea how many Plasmas there are?"

Caleb's face was grim as the term 'collecting taxes' was mentioned. Even more so when she brought up 'beating them up'. Caleb rubbed his bandaged knuckles. He might rough them up a little, but he learned his lesson before. The only person he planned on beating to a pulp for the time being would be Ghetsis.
He followed Jake and Maddy onto the path that led to Nacrene City.
"Umm...it went okay..." Caleb replied, putting his hands back in his pockets. To Jake's question, he glanced up at the tree tops for a moment. "I counted five...but there might've been more that went ahead of them...or that were following them."
