" I know Chris.. it's just hard. I can't the image of killing one of my best friends out of my head. On top of which I find out my 'dead' sister isn't really dead and I had to leave her there in the Nexus where who knows when I'll ever see her again... Still I'm glad that she's not dead. Plus this makes it twice.. twice where a god has manipulated me like a puppet.... I'm so pathetic.."

No one calls my girl pathetic. Not even her. You are NOT pathetic Cassie. We're young...they've been around for millenia. They've had practice at manipulation and mind control. GODS rolled you Cassie. I got rolled by bigoted reverend and his redneck lackeys. Now who is the pathetic one.
Plus...you broke the mind control. Twice. Your sister couldn't even do that. You're stronger than you think.

Cassie laughs..
"Yeah I should probably tell her that Donna's alive too.."
They start walking to Diana's classroom where Cassie is greeted by a hug from Diana.
"Cassandra I was so worried.. Where were you?"
"I was sent to a different world.. and Diana... Donna's... alive."
"What? Is she with you?"
" No she said she had to stay behind to protect the Nexus. A connecting point between all worlds.."
"Oh... if you two will excuse me.. I think I would like to be left alone.."
Cassie nodded and escorted Chris out.

x _______________________________________________ He heard the sound of footsteps coming up behind him, and he turned slowly. It was Billy. He felt an immediate warm fuzzy starting in his heart, but he squished it quickly. Billy was fairly bad at the boyfriending business, and he didn't still quite know what to make of the other night. "Yo."
"Hey. So now you're a pirate?"
"Well, Dani asked me to play Tybalt, and I can't turn down a pretty face," Teddy said and grinned, he gave Billy a quick once over, reaching out to gently pinch his cheek. "So what have you been up to today?"
"I went with Chris to save Cassie from the Sun Eaters. They made us their slaves but we escaped and you know, brought her back with us."
Teddy didn't quite know what to say to that. He blinked a couple times, his mind trying to process any of that.
Nope. Nope. Not processing at all. All he could do was nod his head like he really understood and cared. Maybe Billy was just pulling his leg.
For a moment, they stood there, and Teddy waited for something, anything. He just wanted a sign that Billy was still interested in him, that Billy still wanted to be with him. For a moment he wanted to reach out and pull him into a hug, to let him know that he missed him, and to just hold him. But what if they weren't dating? Wouldn't that just be awkward? Instead, he reached out and gave him a manly clap on the shoulder. "Well, I gotta go rehearse I guess. See you later?" He didn't really wait for a reply. Instead he turned and headed to the stage, looking over his shoulder once, only to see that Billy looked just as confused as he felt inside, and a maybe even a little crestfallen. Or maybe that was just wishful thinking.
Dammit. He wished he had held him, even if Billy didn't want him that way. It would have been nice. It was too late now though, the drama club had already seen him, and he was being welcomed and introduced to everyone. When he looked back again, Billy was gone.

Your father actually. He was came to campus to check on you. I was sure he was going to smite me when he found out who I was. But he just smiled mysteriously and gave us a ride. He seemed nice....not like the stories at all.

" Stories often exagerate... People feared him because he's a god with immense power. It seems kinda weird though.. you know before last year I had no idea who my father was. The only family I knew growing up was my mom seeing as how her side rejected her and me before I was even born because my mom wasn't married when she had me and my dad well... he wasn't there for what I now know are obvious reasons. Then in like one year I suddenly have this huge family I didn't before.. it's nice but kinda weird. Oh by the way... I was wondering since Thanksgiving's next month... uh? Do wanna come with me to my mom's place. It's just going to be me, my mom, Diana, and we were going to invite Achilles...Plus I kinda think my mom wants to meet you."
They entered Black Hawks and Cassie waves to Zinda.

*Chris flushes. He hadn't thought about Thanksgiving. This would be the first time he wouldn't be with his family. But Cassie was extending him an invitation to be with her...that meant a lot to him. Chris cleared his throat.*

Belly Buster burger, fries, and Coke.
*Chris and Cassie hop on a pair of bar stools. They sit comfortably for a while, just enjoying being with each other.*
Halloween is next week. I reserved us our costumes at some new store down in Midvale. Kinda weird place...they're claiming to sell some magic items in there too. It's called The Magic Mirror. And get this...the owner says her name is Snow White.
