Iri takes his hand, accepting the offer of help. She chuckles a little, mischief dancing in her eyes again. "I'm always ready."

As is usual with Iri's comments, the meaning is a little skewed when it enters Reeve's mind. " 'Always ready,' huh? Have I ever mentioned that you're perfect?"

The usual response: A bright red blush. "You can be a lewd man, ya know that? Such simple words skewed to have a lecherous meaning." She gives her head an exasperated shake. Then she leans forward to kiss Reeve's cheek. "But like you anyway, so it's okay."
That said, Iri slips past Reeve and onto the porch steps. With a jump and a powerful downstroke, she's in the air and headed for the trees.

"Only cos you're fun to pick on!" Reeve calls up to her, keeping up at a quick run.

Iri looks down at him and sticks her tongue out. "I'm gonna get a chance to pick on you now!"
Already she's laying traps. Reeve won't run into them right away, but sticks, leaves, and small stones are starting to levitate among the bushes and trees. Those won't be the worst of his problems, though.

"You pickin' on me? Oh, I should be so lucky!" he says with faux-sarcasm.

An acorn seems to be plucked from an oak's branches with invisible hands. The acorn hovers in the air for a moment before shooting toward the back of Reeve's head. It won't hurt much. It would feel like a local squirrel had tossed the nut at him.

At the instant of impact, Reeve feels the hard acorn against the back of his head and flips forward, negating the momentum. He felt it, sure, but not at any significant impact.

Another acorn aims for Reeve's forehead. At the same time, a pebble shoots toward his left ankle. While that's happening, Iri is thinking of something a little more interesting. She notices a flock of birds flitting from tree to tree. And at one point, she even catches a glimpse of a harmless snake in the boughs of an oak. The possibilities.

Reeve jumps over the pebble aimed at his ankle, which puts him at the height to catch and throw the acorn behind him. As he lands, he keeps running.

A gentle current of air picks up the snake Iri noticed. It's of the rough green variety, one that's small, non-venomous, and lacking any kind of fang or tooth. The only things it can hurt are bugs, worms, and maybe the small amphibian. To its surprise, the snake starts to trail along behind Reeve on a condensed breeze. Meanwhile, more forest debri assails Reeve. A stick aims for Reeve's lower back, a rock for his right ankle, and another rock for his left shoulder.

Reeve uses his usual tactic of flipping forward when something strikes his back, and rolling in a tight ball, he watches the rocks sail by. However, his inversion causes him to notice the snake. ..."Eep." He sweeps the snake away with his hand, perhaps a little more daintily than a warrior should.

(( I don't mind. But I'll be leaving in a little while. I'll probably be back online tonight, but I don't know when. Odds are it will be very late, though. ))
I should have known better than to think that he might be afraid of snakes.
Iri drops her assault for a moment. That pause gives herself time to think of a bigger challenge and Reeve time to rest.

Reeve leans against a tree, gasping. "Whoo...Hon, you don't relent, huh?"
