"The only thing I"ve ridden on was TAo," Triton admitted.
He had avoided the problem of riding a horse by using Tao, and Tao was much different from a horse. For starters she was bigger and one could pretty much rest on her as wel las ride on her.

Nadya turned and stared at the others. This was one problem that she hadn't foreseen. Then again, in this world, it was inconceivable that anyone might not know how to ride ... even those who didn't own their own horses learned how at one point or another, before they were grown. Nadya herself rarly rode, but she did know how.
Shades ... now what?
"We have to go all the way to the Northland," she informed them all, her expression confused for what could well have been the first time in many long years. "But you cannot be here long. If we cannot ride, how are we to make it there and back within the time you need to get back home?"

Gion cast a glance at their fellow travelers, and his eyes rested on Yue.
You made the portal between your world and ours, he signed eagerly, his eyes growing bright with excitement. Couldn't you create one to the Northland?
If he could, it would save them probably well over a month of travel!

Outside Lin's bedroom door, the hall was lined, as were they all, with guards. Upon seeing the little girl and the kirin leaving the room, all eyes were drawn towards them - though no other muscles moved. They seemed almost like statues ... and were just as cold and forbidding looking.

Yue rubbed the bridge of his nose, now this was a problem, "I can create portals between places," goddesses knew that it was easier than creating a portal between worlds, "However I need to know exactly where I'm suppose to be, I've never been to the north and a map wouldn't mean much to me."
Better yet even if he had been there once....
Lin felt eyes gather upon her and frowned as she looked up to see that the guards were watching her like those paintings that seem to follow you with their eyes. Breathing out, she was... sort of annoyed, because it seemed awfully rude to her. So, she did the only thing she could do, what she did with her papa all the time. She went up to the closest one and stared at him back.

Nadya looked at Yue sharply, suddenly realizing what her vision had been telling her, the one that had woken her from her sleep.
"What if you were to have been there in your mind?" she asked him curiously. She knew Gion could easily do that for him. After all, he had spent quite a bit of time up there, had mapped out the entire Four Lands, and he created those dream world visions between himself and Daemon all the time - how hard could it be to take Yue there with his mind?
"Would it work?"

The guard that Lin was staring at snapped back to attention the moment she started in his direction, his eyes staring straight forward once again.
Down the hall, there was a snicker from one of the newer, less-experienced guards.

Yue looked thoughtful for a moment, "It could work, it would get us closer to where we are, but it won't get us to the exact spot... more like an area of where we're suppose to be," he explained.
He nodded for a moment, that should work, though it would be draining he would admit. Without Yukito there and runes especially portal runes were his mother's specialty.
Lin blinked turning her head to look down the hall. She raised a brow making her way down the hall towards the snicker she heard looking without fear straight at the guards. She survevyed each and every one of them with Nina ambling behind her.

The snicker was quickly silenced, and all the guards stood at attention as if nothing had happened. The corridor grew silent once more, save the sound of the kirin's hooves on the marble floor.
At the far end of the corridor, there was the sound of a door opening.

"It would save us four weeks of travel, one way," Nadya told Yue in a soft voice. "And by that time they could have moved the same distance we would have traveled. I leave the decision to you. If you think you can do it, please do. If not, I will not ask again."
She gazed at him almost expressionlessly. She didn't want to pressure him, make him do something he didn't want to do, or didn't feel up to.

Yue didn't want to waste time tracking these people down, he would just live with it and book time off work when he got back he finally decided.
"It can be done," he replied softly, "I don't foresee at real problems with it."
Lin finally gave up on finding the guard that snickered, though she would have said it was rude. Being as quiet as it was, it wasn't that hard to hear the door opening, and she began to run down towards the direction. Since, quite frankly there was no one else and these guards were worse than statues.

Nadya smiled and nodded, then turned and beckoned to Gion. "Can you?" she murmured, her eyes growing warm as she looked at him.

Gion nodded seriously, and his eyes flickered over to Yue. He stepped over to the angel cautiously and raised his hands.
You might have to kneel, he signed. To make it easier for this to work.
He lowered his hands once more and looked (way) up at Yue patiently but expectantly.

At the sound of the footsteps, a weathered face poked out of the newly opened door. It was an elf who appeared to be ... well ... old. And considering his race, that was saying something. He had long black hair that was pulled back in a neat low ponytail that went down to his knees. His copper skin was darker than most others', dark enough that some might describe him as mahogany. Despite the legendary immortal youth of the elves, he seemed a bit wrinkled around the corners of his eyes and mouth.
"Quar ed ..." he muttered. He blinked at the tiny child with surprise, and his eyes grew wide.
"And here I though I had seen everything," he murmured in an awe-filled tone.

Yue didn't mind kneeling, which he did, he had to do it for Helen at times too. Then again Yue was use to the fact his height was unusual, the only person who even came close was Donovan, but Donovan was still shorter than him, which was saying something. So he got down on his knees, though in some ways it was a position he normally saved for his loved ones which was the only thing that made it akward.
Lin looked up... way up until she finally just contented to be able to look at his... stomach... or chest.. or what little she could see of his chest. She blinked, well this was going to give her a neck ache.
"So this place is full of big people."
