Kara giggled at that, the chances of whom she ran into those years ago was amazing she thought to herself, "It would be nice to see them again," she nodded thoughtfully.
Miyu frowned as she looked up, she was a bit like her father that way, little went passed her. She light tapped her hand on Serenity's and pointed to the elven woman's mouth, she was worrying. She knew she was worrying... stop worrying... otherwise she might end up with gray hairs like her daddy. She was sure this was why Jaseth had his silver hair... because he was always worrying.
Granted some of that worrying was her and her brother's fault... and their grandfather's fault... the other one, not Donovan.

Serenity blinked down at Miyu, astonished once again by how perceptive the young child was. She turned the corners of her mouth up into a smile and ruffled the angel's hair affectionately.
"You really are a smart one, aren't you?" she murmured softly.
"And I'm sure they would love to see you as well," Ulrich replied with a grin. "As I'm sure you've been told, we don't get many visitors out here - and though we do prefer it that way, when we do get visitors that we like, each visit from them becomes ... as celebrated as the Enderi, sometimes." He chuckled.
Ulani nodded. "Don't be surprised if we're invited there for dinner tomorrow," she laughed, "and Amara has an entire banquet prepared. She's done it before."

"On such a short notice?" Donovan inquired.
Now that took talent he thought, then again he knew banquets could get out of hand even in the planning stages.

"That sounds like fun," Kara smiled at the thought, though she hadn't heard of the Enderi...
Well she probably had heard of it in passing... from Triton she was sure.

"We are a fun-loving bunch," Ulrich chuckled, leaning his head back on the couch.
Just then, Ruel came out from his bedroom, attracted by the noise. He paused at the end of the hallway, just in front of the kitchen door, standing behind the couch, and stared at everyone in turn, his eyes narrowing slightly as they came across his mother.
He spoke a few words, his tone questioning and gruff, and before Serenity could reply, Daeron cut in to answer for her. However, his reply didn't seem to please his father, as Ruel's face grew dark and angry.

Donovan raised a brow but kept his silence wondering what the kid must have said. Oh besides the fact that the kid obviously still liked Kara... and Elnara... and Triton and obviously loves his grandmother. The thought amused Donovan though his facial expression looked bored, but his mind was thinking... turning it's gears.

Talk about the tension Kara thought looking between mother and son... son and father. She did hope he wouldn't yell, it would just frightened the children, and even if he was a grown man, she didn't want him scaring her grandchildren.

Daeron said something else to his father, then left the room, heading into the room where he would be sleeping - though it wasn't to sleep that he was going. He was off to write that letter he had wanted to write.
Ruel glared across the room at Serenity and folded his arms across his chest, then spoke again.
Though Ulrich didn't say anything, or make a move, his face twisted with fury and his muscles tensed angrily.
Serenity glanced at Kara and Donovan, then at the angels in her and Ulani's laps. Finally she looked back at Ruel. Despite her instincts to reply back to him, she wanted to avoid a scene if it was at all possible: so she remained silent.

Kara bit her tongue, she was have tempted to tell Ruel if he had nothing nice to say if he didn't have anything nice to say at all then he shouldn't be saying anything at all. Even though techically he didn't know what Ruel said, but he was such a disappointment.... as a mother that's how she felt about him.
Miyu pouted and grabbed hold of Serenity's arm hugging it as she pouted at the scary man. She was still kind of scared of Ruel, but it was like she was saying, I'm going to tell my father on you... you big bad man. Granted Yue wasn't around, but she would probably... tell her father on him.

Donovan rolled his eyes a bit, as he glanced at Serenity, "Hey Serenity, is there any place when you visit us you'd like to see? Since you're probably going to show Kara around," he touched his head slightly with his love's, "We might as well do the same."
He was purposely giving Serenity something to talk about, in his mind he was almost saying focus on me and don't focus on the jerk.

Serenity forced her eyes away from her son and looked instead to Donovan.
"I have no idea what sorts of places there are there," she replied slowly, thoughtfully. "Places ... that mean things to you, and to Elnara ..."
Ruel jerked visibly at the mention of Elnara's name, and his fists clenched tightly.

"Well I have a wonderful idea," Donovan suggested almost inhumanly... if not uncharacteristically cheerful, "Why don't we take you down to the public library. It's open for the masses, in fact a good friend of your daughter's is the head librarian there."
Yes he knew... he had always known, and even suspected a bit that it went beyond his being good friends. He was fine with that actually, he liked what he saw, besides it's nice to know that Elnara was having a good life, and Serenity deserved to know that. The fact he was completely ignoring Ruel made him very happy.

Serenity brightened slightly and tore her eyes away from Ruel. "She has many friends, then?" she asked, her tone hopeful. "She's doing well?"
No matter how many times she was assured, she always had to ask again.

Donovan gave an eerily innocent smile to those that knew him well, "Oh.. she's made quite a few, being part of the school allows her to excerise some social skill after all."
Okay so it wasn't like she had lots and lots of friends, but she had friends where it counted and that's what mattered the most as Kara would say, he thought to himself.
"She enjoys her time though with her closest friends," Donovan mused.
Perhaps that wasn't the right term to use for it, but that was as far as he knew the way it was now.

Kara closed her eyes leaning against Donovan, just so she wouldn't have the urge to whack him. He knew about Lore the bugger! She was going to give him a piece of her mind when they were alone...
