::And Sun was indeed correct. People were not meant to be made that way, infact no person until this date had ever been made that way. It was unnatural, it was an abomination. And many others had taken notice of exactly that fact. In a brilliant flash of thunder one could swear that outside the very large window stood a figure, a figure which seemed to floating several stories up outside a window. It was clothed in black, a robe covered most of his frame, and the scythe he held was parrellel with the ground. The blade even curved upwards ever so gently. But behind him, sat a massive span of steadily flapping black feathered wings. But just as quickly as he was noticed, he was gone. His visage sat as a ghost haunting the edges of ones vision. As the flash of light from the thunderbolt faded, he was gone. He'd seem like a bad memory, or a hallucination.

Lost in the moment, niether the Doctor nor his children or his visitors seemed to respond to the presence. Datho was not the only person present that though believed something was askiew.

As he ran forward Kraden stayed very safely placed behind the office chair. He was entirely to taken aback to move.

As Datho crept closer Mary turned around with a bright smile and welcomed him forward beside her. He was after all, part of the family.::

Isnt he beautiful?

::She said as she said in a cheery almost teary voice. The child itself had taken to simple cooing as the Doctor played with his belly. He had no belly button, and his skin was oddly pale, but other than he seemed like a normal baby boy.::

Sunstrike actually rested his head on Mary's shoulder, watching the doctor as he held the small child. There was something odd but also endearing about a full grown man holding a baby.

He didn't try and grab the small child like the doctors glasses or Mary's spiders, it just seemed the wrong thing to do...but he did kneel down, vacating the girls shoulder to peer as far as he could over the doctors arms.

It was so...tiny...

He didn't know really how to answer Mary's question, and even if he could he wasn't sure beautiful was the right word, exotic maybe...then again, what words would ever be right?

: razz erhaps beautiful wasnt the proper word, but it rolled so properly off Mary's tongue. It just felt right. She was content to let Sun rest on her shoulder, in this moment of happiness no embarassment carried consequence.

As Sun kneeled down beside the Doctor, he was somewhat reminded of Marcel kneeling beside him and questioning the odds and ends of what he was trying to create. That look on his face was a look exploration in the Doctors eyes. Though he had only caught a periferal glance of Sun as his eyes still gazed into the eyes of his Sun, while the baby gently sucked on his fingertip and giggled.

The Doctor simply had a content smile cast across his aged face. He looked like he was complete, as if everything he lost had been reclaimed in the face of that giggling child. For a second his eyes closed as took in the moment.

There was really only one thing left. His eyes opened gazing over at Sun with that same content smile on his face. It was all coming to a close, all he had left to do was repair his greatest error, and his greatest victim. No words really can describe the moment in which life is created, be it natural or not. But there are certainly words that may describe the life itself.::

Datho.

::The Doctor said with that rather fatherly tone.::

Zhis is Lucian, Lucian meet Datho...someone...very special to your father.
PostPosted: Thu Aug 17, 2006 2:12 pm

"Hullo Lucian..."

One of his fingers moved up and came in close, wiggling a little, and Lucien did what all baby's seem to do when that happens, grab it with a tiny hand and hold on for dear life.

This isn't so bad... He said to the part of his mind that protested.

"Is he...whole?" Sunstrike blinked at the doctor. "I...won't be this tiny when you fix...no?" It was a complex thing to ask. On one hand Sunstrike was happy that he might be made complete, on the other, he wasn't so sure he wanted to be as helpless as this...

The finger waggled and there was another giggle.

Oh yes, qvite whole, and just as alive as yourzelf. Or myself.

::He couldnt help but smile at little Lucians reactions, the giggle and cooing of an experiment gone right. One could even swear that when the tiny child released his fathers finger, that he waved at Datho for just a moment. But that was impossible, he was just too young. Datho's question made the Doctor chuckle a bit more.::

No dear Dazho, vhen your fixed zhe only zhing zhat vill be smaller iz zhe amount of pain...

::While the Doctors right left arm safely held Lucian, his right moved up and pointed at Sun's head.::

...in zhere. Now...

::He carefully wrapped his right arm back around Lucian and slowly slipped his knees into the proper position and stood up with something of a triumphant nod.::

Its been qvite a day, qvite a bit longer for some of us...

::His eyes shifted to Sunny.::

But itz time to get some rest. Mary...

::He turned and gently nodded to Mary.::

Take Dazho and Kraden to zhere rooms. Zhey'll need lots of rest for tomorrow's activities.

::With that Mary turned to Datho and gently wrapped her gloved hand around his, and stood up::

C'mon Datho, time ta sleep, we're gonna have allota fun tomorrow!

::Gently tugging his hand she made her way to and past Kraden, and then to the elevator. Strangely, the altered child and Mary shared a sort of odd awkwardness. Kraden never looked Mary directly in the eyes and should their eyes meet they almost immediately looked away. Stranger still was their odd silence, they almost never spoke and the tension between them soon filled the space around them. When the elevator opened with its tell-tale "ding", even the spiders seemed to be on edge.

And all the while, Marys hand seemed to squeeze Datho's whenever Kraden's eyes even seemed to be on her. Even once when their eyes met she went so far as to quickly turn away and stare straight at Datho with an uncomfortable smile on her face.

When the elevator came to a stop at the 42nd floor, Kraden disembarked only turning back to wave at Datho and speak in a very nervous tone.::

It was a pleasure meeting you, maybe next time we c--

::Another ding was heard as Marys hand flew up to slam the "Close Door" button, and set the elevator on its motion to the next stop. Only when the elevator had safely begun to move did she finally seem to calm down. And only a few seconds after that did she speak.::

So um, what'd you think of baby Lucian? Isnt he cute?
PostPosted: Sat Aug 19, 2006 4:04 am

Sun was puzzled...and soon grew worse through the whole situation. When Kraden was cut off midsentance he looked down at Mary with an odd look.

Damaged and scarred as Sun was, tired as he was, he was still very concerned.

"You...dislike Kra-den?" He struggled over the name, considering everything that had gone on today, he was tired and could barely keep his eyes open. The metal panneling was cold as he leaned back against the elevator.

His strange eyes stared at Mary, unconsciously demanding an answer.

"Freeze Intru--"
SLAM! Viper had been standing to the side of the door where it opens up, and he knew that his adversary would likely burst out. Why would Viper know this? Because he realized security guards are briefed on layout, so it was rather stupid to suggest. So, the second he heard the slam of a foot against a door, Viper slammed his foot out to kick the door, which should shove his opponent back into the toilet. No matter how this would work out, Viper would spin to his side, waiting until any part of his opponent's body was exposed, and he'd start aiming his sleep needles into him.

If my physics work out like I think they do, the guard will stumble back, slam into the toilet with a good part of his lower body exposed. The door would bounce off the jam and Viper would have a good chance to pop at least three shots into his opponent, two of which are aimed for the guard's hairline, another aimed for the leg.

(A little gift for being gone so long, sorry.)

The gaurd slammed into the back of the toilet and hit his head, out cold for a while but otherwise unharmed. The badge on the man's shirt would indicate, despite his uncoordinated nature, that he was a high ranking gaurd.

"...Urgh?"'

Viper stood back, slowly putting his gun back. Now, Griff had not entirely re-read this RP, because he just got back, so for the moment, Viper looked over his 'opponent',

"That was certainly different... better keep moving. Comicon?"

I'm here Viper. And you should deffinataly get moving. And take his bagde, radio, and weapon. All of those should come in handy. Make your way down into the pumping area, and watch out for guards.

Oh, and if you need to tinkle, I suggest you do it now. The bathrooms on the lower floors are entered by lock and key only.

"Right." And Viper reached down, grabbing the guy's badge and gun from his front. The radio was dunked in the toilet filled with... something. So, naturally, Viper opted to just... skip it.

Besides, Comicon was right. He needed to keep on to the pump room. From the bathroom, he rushed out and around a hall, his motion detector staying on constantly with next to no bleeping whatsoever. A rat or two, maybe.

Viper gone, the gaurd slowly came to, finding his gun and badge missing, but after a few minutes of searching he found his radio. The smell didn't deter him from using it, and it was sturdy enough not to be broken.

"Code Five intruder alert, enemy spy in rig # 4. Pass Code 184763092A32. All gaurds proceed to quarters for lockdown in two minutes. I repeat...."

Whichever hall viper was in, his motion detectors would soon come to life. Lines of automated sentry guns spaced a yard apart would descend from the rig ceiling, spraying the halls with interlocking fields of .50 calibre high velocity armor peircing rounds against anything that moved. The only places not covered by sentry guns were the lockdown quarters, pumping stations, and the storage tank areas. Security cameras were attached to every gun, monitered from the inner communications console, which hadn't yet been breached.

Viper, we've got a problem! It seems your guard buddy just woke up and called in some support from a few automated defense systems! I'll try to hack the system to find out how they're controled, until then, lay low and find some cover. Oh, and a word of advice? Next time, kill the guards, we can't afford to make anymore mistakes. I'll keep you posted on any updates, be careful!

YCMREP

The areas had been extensively surveyed and studied in advance, and now, the first oil rig was in place. It was a small structure in comparison to the much larger rigs that would be floated to much larger deposits of incredibly valuable oil, but it was the begining, a base upon which to build an incredibly profitable venture. Of course, such valuable resources in such a far off hostile land needed to be protected. In such, the first Yaits Corp destroyer was commisioned along with a dozen or so patrol boats to patrol the waters surrounding the small rig. It was an old destroyer purchased surplus from the Gaian Republic Armed Forces, but retrofitted with some new tech, it would serve well in it's humble purpose.

Update: I wish to modify the rig system so that by the time of infiltration of Rig number four, the oldest rig, three new rigs have been installed. Each are modestly constructed with the exception of the latest rig built in waters further north than the others. The protective fleet is still modest, with only one additional purchased destroyer, as most of the Yaits Naval Command is being kept discreetly preserved.

Estimated Tundra oil output when at maximum capacity: 2 million barrels daily.

Further Update: With independence declare, a small naval force led by a newly constructed Aegis cruiser and a small armada of destroyers has been dispatched to protect alll oil convoys to Ymiristan.

::It took Mary seemingly forever to reply. Maybe because the answer was just so hard to put in words. She had to fight her own distant battle in a world far far away of her own design because she could re-align her mind properly and say a simple answer. Datho probably knew all about re-aligning ones mind as his mind was probably working pretty hard to do just that. Still, with the already awkward silence that filled the small metal shaft it must have seemed like forever before she spoke. But despite the veritable months it took for her to speak, she did infact speak. Albeit cautiously, careful of being judged by revealing a weaker part of her character.::

I...I do like him.

::She said nervously, pausing for a moment to bit her lip, as if tasting something that had long ago faded.::

I like him...alot.

::Her arms gently folded across her shoulders and she loosely laid her hands down on her own shoulders. She needed a hug right now, even if she had to give it to herself.::

And one day we....we...

::She bit her lips again, licking them ever so gently as her eyes seemed to stare off at the emptiest spot in the elevator.::

...We kissed. B-but, he didnt like it. He...he pulled away, and pushed me back...and told me to leave....

::Emotions are a heavy thing, for a monster or a man. And Mary, both monster and mortal fell under their pressure, her back sliding down the empty metal shaft as she fell into a corner wrapped around herself. It only took a few seconds for the sobbing to be heard, and streaks of water green tears to roll down her face tugging her eye shadow with them. She looked like a mess....ever so fitting because she felt like one too...::

Father doesnt know....

::She said between sobs.::

Please dont tell him...

::A few sniffs, and her arm was brought across her eyes, to wipe away some of the tears and then return to its place pulling her legs into her chest. The white sleaves marred with a blend of tear and mascara.::

...I'm sorry...I dont mean....I dont mean to bother you with it.

As Mary slowly degraded and began to curl up on herself, Sun became more and more distressed for her, his emotions as raw as his mindstate. He didn't hear the soft chimes of the elevator as it climbed, only the small sniffles coming from the girl.

Carefully, stiches pulling a little, he squatted down in front of her so he could be on her level, eyes unblinkingly staring into her ravaged ones, before reaching out a hesitating hand and tracing it delicately along her cheek. The touch made a line of black and green all the way down to her jawline.

"Mary..." He would have to fight to say more, a deep throb began at the back of his head. "You should...you never...." A sigh, his fingertips still lightly holding her chin, slightly colder then they probably should have been, but soft and almost comforting. In a mirror of an old habit, he ran the pad of his thumb across her lower lip, to ease the discomfort of being worried by her own teeth.

"No bother. Painful, and...needs fixing. Doctor will not know, no tell. We'll fix..." Sunstrike frowned as if trying to remember something, then he brightened as it hit him. "I'll...talk to Kra'den, ask with...mmm" His ears lowered..."Delicate? Tenative? S-something like that, anyway." He let go of her face to rub his eyes hard. That really hurt, but it was more of a migraine from effort, rather then the shattering pain of trying to remember his past. Not to mention exhaustion.
