"I figured as much, or you wouldn't have revealed your abilities already." he said, watching Raine charge. A magical shield? he thought to himself. He shouted something to Shadow in Ancient Demonic, and shadow nodded and turned to the shadow demon. Shadow approached the demon and reached out to touch him.

Kristen looked at Durithill in wonderment. She then looked quickly back at the battle. The Ancient Demonic language was something else that Kristen had been left out of in comparison to her brothers. The sounds of the letters in the language brought back memories of her family. She shivered a little at the thought of it and at once snapped back into the present.

Magic barrier... She thought in mind. Only magic.. or...? Hearing a few ancient words being shouted, Raine cursed to herself gently. Never on her own, huh? At least he was dependable... that was a good sign. SLashing at the protective orb horizontally, Shiero felt a surge of electricity shoot through her. Damnit... She hissed. her whord was infused with magic... after all. ...What now? He eye immediatly shifted over to Shadow who was attacking the useless shadow.
"Damnit..." Veronica cursed as the sun pulled up over the horizon. The moment a ray of sunlight filled the sky, the being that she created had disagrated and she, too, couldn't stay for long. With a low grunt she glared at the two before taking a step back, holding a ball of dark energy in her hand. Within the moments she shot it at Raine, she disapearred into a shadow that a nearby building had produced and vanished.

Seeing the shadow demon disappear, Shadow sank into a dark puddle and disappeared into Durithill's own shadow. Knowing Raine could most likly take care of the attack on her own, Durithill didn't deflect it. He did, however, secretly charge energy in case she could not.

Kristen clenched her fists, even though she had no clue who Raine was she guessed it would be better if she won then Veronica.

Simply raising her sword, she touched the tip of her blade to the dark energy orb before letting out a long sigh. Another battle... wasted. Can I do anything right? She asked herself, remaning in the same position. Not moving, not speaking. Nothing. The only movement besides for her breathing was her fingers releasing the sword clentched within them. The heavy chuck of metal fell and hit the ground, followed by a loud noise. I'm.. weak... She told herself, I couldn't even... Another sigh was heard from her mouth and a quiet mew was heard a short distance away. Not a word had passed her lips...

"Can't keep yourself away from unsavory people for even a moment, can you Raine?" Durithill joked, walking up to her after reabsorbing the energy he'd charged. "I leave for a single errend and come back to find you fighting. And look who's come to see you." he said, turning towards the small animal that was hurring towards them.

A simple, guilty grunt came from the back of her throat as the small animal scampered up to her feet. "...My apologies, Durithill." She stated rather blandly, holding out her right arm. allowing the small animal to jump up onto her hand and run up onto her shoulder. However, she remained quiet after her apologetic statement. Firefox, on the other hand, curled up beanth her chin and licked the side of her face. A small smile pulled at the corner of her lips... she had failed her mission completely.

Kristen followed after Durithill towards Raine. She heard Durithill say 'And look who's come to see you.' Kristen didn't know if it was she that he was talking about or not.

"It's been a while, hasn't it Darkfire?" Durithill said, scratching the small fox on the head. When he heard Raine's apology, he looked up. "Sorry? What for? For not beating Veronica?" he asked, a little confused.

Kristen let out a sigh, hearing that Durithill wasn't talking about her, well, yet. She didn't want to say anything wrong, so Kristen just stood there and listened. It was all to familar, it was like what she had to do at home when she was in her brothers' and father's precence. Just stand there and don't say a word.
((Goodnight.))

"Veronica..." She repeated her name. "So that.. is her name..." She spoke slowly, keeping her eyes on the ground. No... not for not beating her, but for all the mistakes she's made.. in general.
Feeling the same presence as earlier, Shiero finally shifted her body to face the woman whom had approached her. Allowing her lids to close over her now crimson eyes, she rose them back up in a flash, producing a small smile across her face. "My aplogies for earlier's incident.." She spoke up, holding out her hand and plastering the best smile she could work up at the moment across her face. "I am...Fayt." She spoke, giving the woman one of her many aliases. The other two main ones being 'Raine' or 'Shiero' she did not reveal. Fayt was the original name she used with any stranger to prevent herself from being found out too early.

"We never get a moment alone, do we?" Durithill's voice said in Raine's head.

From his 'secret' comment, it allowed a gentle smile to be pulled across her lips. Not one that was forced, but one that came naturally. She shook her head in response, parting her lips to say something to him, but decided against it. For whatever, strange odd, reason it had occured to her, Shiero had remembered the rose petal she had found before her feet earlier. Instead of speaking it aloud, she thought about it instead, hoping he would tap in and listen. What's this about? She 'asked' vaugly, opening her palm where the petal still remained. It had been on her mind recently before the battle took place.

"Now is not the place or the time." Durithill replied quickly, seeing the petal out of the corner of his eye. "When we are truely alone. I don't want you worrying about me."
