"You know, you could be among them."
Hiei immediately cut his eyes to the space next to him and looked either confused or thoughtful. He was distracted by the fox's next words, and mostly, by the other actually leaning and resting on him. Hiei stiffened.
And in an attempt to not look like a scared virgin, he said, "Whatever pricks your ears, fox."
Hiei was a virgin of sorts, massage-wise. He'd never been massaged or even really touched in a nurturing way, other than maybe a few aids here and there from Kurama, of course. So it should be no surprise that his back was a mess of knots and stress.

Kurama smiled. "I'll take those words to heart," he said thoughtfully, trying for a bit of a reaction. Most preferably a look from the other indicating that he had imagined the possibilities to some extent. Not that he really thought Hiei would.
The fox used his hands to gently push off of Hiei, before shifting his position so that he was behind him, slightly elevated with his weight resting on his knees and feet. His legs were spread and his knees were on either side of Hiei, but he didn't touch any part of him until those delicate fingers rested on his shoulders. He began to massage, first with only his thumbs, rubbing him in small circles, but then he added his fingers more at he continued down his back. Kurama paid some special attention to spots that would commonly ache a fighter as he moved down, with fingers on his sides and thumbs stretching to reach every spot on his petite back. As he got to... the bottom of Hiei's back, his hands stopped, slightly ghosted over Hiei's a**, and began the process again, changing it a bit.

Hiei merely quirked a brow at Kurama's words. The moment the fox maneuvered behind him, the demon stiffened even more. He wasn't sure what to do when receiving a massage, and though he was quite numb, he could feel the pressure on his stressed areas and made a funny little noise at the sensation. His eyes proceeded to close.
This was... nice. Awkward. But nice.
As Kurama indulged, Hiei was, as usual, naive to... many things. But as the massage continued, Hiei became so relaxed that those who knew him might think he were dead. His head rested a little bit forward and he tried to keep sitting up, but began to lean back involuntarily.

Kurama was surprised not to get a reaction from the little stunt he had pulled, and even more so that Hiei was leaning back. By this point, his chest would rub against the koorime's back every so often, so the fox decided to be slightly bold once again and pull him close enough that Hiei was practically laying on him, with barely enough room on his shoulders and waist to continue massaging. Had Kurama's stomach not caved in as much as it did, massaging anything but his shoulders would have been difficult. His pace of massaging slowed some, and he put a bit more strength into it, both working to relax more completely. At this rate, Kurama knew he would fall asleep, so he decided to ruin the silence, teasing again.
"So it seems the touch of my delicate hands does make you feel better, wouldn't you agree?"

Hiei's pride was no match for this. It seemed to dissolve into pleasant hibernation. But he was still ever so slightly awake.
"Don't get cocky," he groaned, either out of annoyance or because of a tough knot. He shifted a little. He wouldn't admit it at all, but he felt like his entire body was turning to jello and he couldn't support himself any longer. And so, he went from practically laying on the other, to actually laying on him. He was paralyzed with relaxation.
"Technique of yours, Kurama? Get your victim completely immobile, and then you go in for the kill, or whatever the Youko desires."

Cocky? Maybe just a little. But Youko was a part of him and that was certainly a describing characteristic of the kitsune. Amusing that Hiei had decided to bring that facet of him up.
"I wonder why you would bring such a thing up," Kurama began softly, seeming to choose his words carefully, "when you know such a comment would give me ideas." He wasn't denying it at all, because it was essentially true.
"Whatever pricks your ears, fox."
Those little words rung in his mind again, not for the first time. Would he be able to get away with more affectionate actions because of it, or could he take it too far entirely? Kurama wasn't one to be too daring, and usually he managed to get what he wanted because of planning, and most of all, he didn't want to break Hiei's trust. But...
Kurama reached his arm around the koorime, placed two fingers under his chin, tilted his face up and slightly to the side, and... kissed him. Very softly, not brusquely at all, and in no way demanding, and he pulled away within a few seconds. He was thankful for the considerable height difference that made it possible. He waited for the harsh words that were sure to come. Maybe threats. Kurama wasn't sure if Hiei wouldn't strike him, really, but since he had been in such a relaxed state, he expected less of a negative response.

The shock was so great that Hiei wasn't even able to move as their lips connected. His eyes stayed open, staring at Kurama, even when the kiss was broken. It was difficult to sum up his expression. Was he angry, confused, or even—satisfied?
After a few more horrified, unblinking seconds, the koorime swallowed and turned away just as his cheeks darkened.
And even to his own surprise, he said nothing.

Kurama didn't mind the silence, because what was not said could neither hurt him nor encourage him, and he assumed his turning away to mean he was hiding his expression. Something he wouldn't do if he was angry? Kurama assumed so, possibly being too self-confident again. His fingers found the koorime's cheek, gently giving it a caress to be sure if it was abnormally warm, and it was. Hiei was blushing. The fox smirked.
"Does this mean I can continue?"

Hiei tightened his jaw at the caress and turned his face even more away. "Shut up," he snapped. This was to be taken lightly, as such a childish remark was surely a scrambled attempt at remaining dignified. Or it could be interpreted as shut up and kiss me again.

Was Hiei just playing stubborn, or was he truly so? Either way, the fox found it cute, but he didn't voice it. He was glad that while the words were said harshly, the vicious edge was missing. On instinct, much more so than anything else, especially reason, Kurama turned Hiei's body around so the angle wasn't as awkward, and kissed him again, this time with a little more... something. Passion, maybe? And it was just a longer kiss in general.
Well, Kurama certainly hadn't made a sound.

Being turned around, Hiei remained still and stared once more, and when Kurama kissed him again, something flashed in those dark, red eyes and they became heavy. When the kiss was done, Hiei's expression became strict.
"Kurama," he said, sounding maybe like a warning, or maybea plea? It was hard to tell, as were most things. The demon opened his mouth slightly, but said nothing and closed it. Red eyes flashed once more.

Kurama tilted his head to the side slightly, questioningly and gave a feigned childish look, as if he had done nothing at all. It was partially to see if Hiei was still in good humor, but he was moreso testing him to see if he'd make any move of his own. The fox wanted that, of course. And if Hiei became frustrated with him, he would need to decipher why, exactly. He knew he had to be very careful.
His expression turned into an amused one. "There's really no satisfaction in this while you sit there like a corpse, no matter how attractive you are, or how soft your lips may be." He wanted this conversation to start on a good, not very serious note. It was not his intention to make Hiei feel like this entire thing was a game, but if he kept them friends, it would have to do. And if it strengthened and changed their relationship a bit, all the better.

Hiei's eyebrows came down in a slightly frustrated manner. His mind was absolutely reeling with what's going on what do I do what the ******** leaned forward and up and lifted his hand as if to touch Kurama's face, his face coming close, but pulled back suddenly. He gritted his teeth and forced his eyes shut.
"I—don't—"
He was unable to finish the choked sentence because he was trembling.

Kurama had been anticipating the touch, wondering what it would lead to, when... the koorime pulled away entirely. For a moment, Kurama found himself confused at the change, but finally realized that the hiyoukai was essentially short-circuiting. Either way, positive or negative, he really had no clue how to react to this sort of treatment. The kitsune hadn't picked up on any signs that he honestly disliked it, but what little signs there were that encouraged him... maybe they weren't as blatant as they needed to be.
When Hiei began trembling, he gave him an entirely platonic hug, to try to comfort him. He wasn't going to risk making the situation worse. He had to be sure that he was fine with his advances. If not, they would stop. If so... they would see where it would lead.

Hiei responded to the embrace by merely breathing. After a few moments, he laughed. "I... don't know..." he tried once more to say it, but still found it difficult to complete the statement.
The demon pulled away slightly and looked up at Kurama, clutching the fabric of his shirt.
