Not only that, but Necron Warriors are damned cheap in points. For 1 more point than SM's, they get the same statline, We'll-Be-Back, AND a weapon that is, for all intents and purposes, rending against vehicles.

I mean, come ON!

What's that big Prism Tank? How does that work?

And yes, Power Weapons have to be in CC. That's a power weapon.
wink

Use cover? Fast Units?

I really don't know Eldar that well.

But no army is unbeatable.

What's that big Prism tank? Oh yeah; the one that rarely ever hits because Eldar can't get a BS above 3 on their vehicles? Oh yeah; that one.

Get a different army if you dislike your current one.
I don't know anything about Eldar, but that thing is big.

How about Wraithlord overkill, or an Avatar?

Warriors are only good if there's a Lord w/ Ressy Orb nearby. That's why I refuse to play anything less than 500 points. Anything under involves Combat Patrol, and EVERYONE I go against in that plays Genestealers or Banshees. And don't forget that the Lord has a base cost of 100 points. The Warriors may seem cheap, but without the expensive Lord they're just overpriced Space Marines.

It has nothing to do with how much I enjoy playing my army; I love playing Eldar and always have. Though I just seem to be running intp a lot of brick walls when I face the Necrons. I just wish that there was a single non-biased Necron player out there that would help me overcome my problem.

Heh, I'm not aware of your problem, but fill me in and I'll try to help. I've been playing as Necrons for about a year now, so I know the ins and outs of the army fairly well.

Edit: Just went back a page and checked it out.

Go Wraithlord heavy. With three wounds a piece, a toughness value of 8, and a 3+ save, it's going to take a very serious amount of firepower to bring down all of them. Equip them with Starcannons (I think those are a decent infantry weapon), and you'll be felling a decent amount of necrons a turn before those bad boys hit home. Enough dead 'Crons is bound to have a decent amount of failed WBB roles. When the Wraithlords actually reach close combat, then the Necrons are doomed.

Aside from that, Wave Serpents are plenty nice. They're fast, are they not? Put a unit inside them and watch them zip 24" down the table every turn. Limit the amount of time you give the Necron player to shoot at you before you hit his lines, and you'll hit them more intact than otherwise. Shinig Spears are nice for this as they can either move 12" and open fire, or go 24" and gain an invulnerable save while getting all the closer to hewing the 'Crons in close combat.

Anything else depends on what type of Necron force you're facing. Tactics have to adjust accordingly. If it is a mobile 'Cron army, with bare minimum warriors and a great deal of destroyers with a lord or two on a destroyer body, best of luck. I've never seen the build lose before, ever. The mobility, armor, and firepower is just too much for most armies to cope with. x.x

I personally despise going 3 Wrathlords but I spose' I will go with that if I'm facing Necrons. It seems that the only way to beat Necrons is to out cheese them. xd

Now I'm not too familier with the exact rules for Wraithlords, but you'll probably still want to watch out for Scarabs. Same thing with that transport-heavy army. Scarabs are just as fast as the tanks (faster if you consider the fact that they can assault) and Disruption Fields means your tanks are screwed. I know it's only glancing, and it's only hitting on a 6 and glancing on a 6, but at 4 attacks per base on the charge SOMETHING'S going to get through.

Well Wriathlords have an immensely high toughness; enough so that regular Bolter cannot hurt them; and a few wounds; not much to worry about there. I mean... Scarabs won't even be able to harm them if I'm correct. I just seem to find that every single unit in the Necron army is overpowered in one way or another.

Please explain to me how a Pariah is overpowered. xd Sure, they have the allmighty Warscythe, but they also suffer from Necron Initiative and only have a single wound.

A Wraithlord is T8 right? Which means a Bolter can wound it, through a Scarab cant of course.

And Pariah's are only overpowered agiansts people who dont back a plan for them.

A bolter at S4 will NOT wound a T8.
