*After searching for a while, Maggie finds a children's book of poems and nursery rhymes that looks as though it will do nicely. Carrying it over to one of the study tables, she settles in to work at her reading for a while*

*Maggie works diligently for some time, until she makes her way to the end of the book. Closing it, she rubs her eyes, then stands and stretches, a little stiff from bending over the table for so long*

*She glances over at the bookshelves, debating whether or not to keep working . . * I suppose I'd best take a bit of a rest from it for now, *she decides, and heads back toward the main room to see if anybody else has arrived*

**Exit Maggie to Main, 651**

It had been quite some time since the Brink had seen Clare. She looked for the most part very much the same. The main difference being her clothing, a slightly wrinkled white top and loose fitting navy cargos. As she took form below one of the book cases, her legs were still perfectly folded with her arms lying at her side. One partially falling over a very old and very odd looking book. The cover from front to back was composed of black and red leathers in varying shades. It would be hard to decipher if the colors were each made of individual patches or if the book had undergone a treatment of some kind at its creation to spawn the effect. Aside from an embossed tear surrounded by a circle with ripples coming forth from the bottom of the droplet there was no other writing on the volume. And at the moment the current owner would be little help as evidence from the drool gathering at the right side of her lip. Yep, she was sound asleep.

After a while a portion of the 'book cases' began to softly snore.

:::Cora enters the library, clutching a small red box to her chest gently. She came with a bit of a mission; to understand what was in the box she held

She had yet to find any kind of propper reference system there in the library. She was starting to think now though, with all the time on her hands, she would build one. Either way, she did notice that the letters went in order from A to Z...the ones in english anway.

Cora was dismayed to see that there was no book on chocolate...perhaps it was a part of something else. She'd go look in the dictionary for a definition:::

:::Cora turns around to head for the reference section when she overhears a faint sound somewhere near by... it sounds sort of like, breathing, but louder... Was someone there?

She turned the corner in the direction of the sound, and saw none other than Clare, snoozing peacefully on some books:::

Clare!!

:::She yelled out excitedly, running to wake her...holding on to her package carefully all the while:::

Clare had long fallen over, crumpled in a little heap that managed to snuggly wrap itself around the book. Sort of like a little kid and their teddy gear.. drool and all. It was actually almost cute, twenty some odd years odd and she was curled up in a little ball..on the floor till the silence was interrupted by the overly enthusiastic blonde.
"GAH!"
Clare had woken with a start and bolted into a semi upright position, forcing her back against one of the shelves, the book clutched to her chest.

:::Cora scurries, and lands on her knees, and even though she''d rushed, she managed to set her chocolates down very carefully closeby.

Now, Cora had never known Clare all that well...but after not having seen her for three years, and having spent all that time thinking about every single person she''d seen there, she was just a little more than excited

Her arms flung out and grabbed the sleepy-faced Clare around the shoulders briskly:::

Clare! It''s been so long...I thought I might not see you ever again!!

And Clare thought waking up in the GPD at random times was bad. As Cora grabbed hold of her, she latched onto the book even further. All but her nose and up hiding behind it. While her eyes widened to the size of two silver dollars and even down to the color. Making the frames look almost too small for her face.

"Missed you too." Meek little sleepy voice.

Oh! Clare! Forgive me if I was forward!

:::She backs up a notch, still beaming and looking like she could hug her again at any moment:::

I was outside the brink for more than 2 years, and I hadn't seen you in so long!! Oh it is SO good to see you!!

"I think you just startled me.." She smiled reassuringly. Clare had never been quite sure about this place, and the nervousness hadn't depleted any after catching a glimpse of the commissioner once. Odd doughnut man. "It'll be fine."

Noticing the small box Cora had taken time to put safely off to the side before the tackling commenced, Clare peered over the book's binding a bit. "Find something interesting?"
PostPosted: Mon Aug 29, 2005 9:10 pm

Oh this!

:::She picks up the box and hands it to Clare to inspect it:::

These are chocolates, it says. :::Cora mispronounces the word, making it sound like Choh-ko-laits::: Do you know what they are?

:::There was a glint of excitment in her eyes:::

"Oh"
Clare's mouth made an amused O shape as she laughed softly. Carefully picking up the box, she slid the lid off to one side and held the reveled confections within up for Cora to study. The contents giving off an almost dreamy sweet aroma .

"Try one, in this case eating one may be the best explanation. I can elaborate a little afterward need be."
PostPosted: Mon Aug 29, 2005 9:18 pm

:::Cora was suddenly uneasy when Clare opened the box. She'd been so protective of it, she hoped that exposing them wouldn't damange them...but it seemed like Clare know what she was doing...and it also seemed that she was instructing Cora to eat one:::

...They're food?

:::She eyed the strange brown little lumps. Cora picked one up and sniffed it:::

Clare nodded. "Most definitely, some cultures consider the little treats more than food. But for now just eat it. You can just take a bite and go from there if you're a little unsure."

She chuckled watching the young women sniff it, like the little bonbon would do anything back.
