This time was a bit better than the last time. He made it a ways up the boulder but soon felt his footing slip. He began to push off and flipped back to the ground. As he did, he heard something cracking. His feet landed with a thud and a slide. Gazing up to the boulder, he saw a few points of impact where his feet had pressed in harder than needed. He knew that meant he had too much chakra going into the skill at that point and decided to compensate for it.

Standing, he refocused his chakra into his feet and began another dash for the boulder ahead of him.

Again he moved up the rock and placed a mark at the highest point he could make before he felt his footing leave him. He moved to flip back and landed with another thud, kicking up a larger dust cloud. He looked up to the rock an saw that the last two attempts were around the same area. He wouldn't let that deter him and began to focus his chakra again to his feet. Clasping the tiger seal tightly and releasing it, he tried another dash toward the boulder.

This run didn't even feel right from the start and it wasn't. He moved up the stone only a bit before feeling his footing slip. He had used too little chakra and since his mind was focused on the run and not the actual happenings, he slipped upon the surface of the rock and fell back to the ground. He hit with a thud but used his feet and hands to break the impact o the fall a bit. That was something his mother tought him to keep him from getting winded in a fight if he ever landed on his back.

he rolled a bit and got up. He looked to the mark he made during that last run and it was pretty bad. You could tell he din't make it that well beause the mark looked squiglly. He moved back to position and tried it again. Again the chakra was focused to his feet and again he dashed.

He did it! He had done it. The chakra was just right that time. He made it up to the top of the rock no problem and placed an x up on the top to mark his achievment. He flipped off the boulder with a sense of joy and hope within his heart but he knew that wasn't enough. He knew that one success was not enough to say that he had mastered it. He looked to the boulder again and grinned

"I've conqured you once you big piece of dirt. I'm gonna do it again" Again, he clasped his hands together in the tiger seal and placed what felt like the same amount of chakra to his feet and ran toward it again.

He dashed up the boulder. Confidence filled each step...until he felt the steps sinking in a bit. His eyes caught the last bit of the run as a few chunks of the boulder flew toward him from his feet. He had used to much chakra and lost his footing. He began to fall backwards towards the ground from a height that was sure to hurt...alot. He had to think quickly and realized he was still near enough to the boulder to push off it and gain at lest a flipping slowdown and so he attempted it. (eah, going for about 9 or higher)

[success]

he did it! A firm thrust of his legs pushed him away from the boulder and allowed him to flip to a safe speed and distance to avoid injury. He slid for a few moments and then lookd up at the boulder. He sighed for a moment grined.

"Oh boy...ok...no more dirt jokes on the big rock..." he laughed a bit to himself and dusted himself off. He looked up to the rock for a moment and began to go back to position to attempted another run. He found his original starting point and again focused his chakra and began the dash once more.

[DC 20 2+1=3=MISERABLE fail]

That run wasn't even worth the effort it took to do it. He moved up to rock and almost instantly lost his footing from lack of proper chakra amounts and fell back slight. He bounced a bit and moved back. He scratched his head and moved back to his messenger bag. Opening it, a pen and paper were pulled from it and he began to scribble a few notes on the jutsu for himself.

"The exact amount of chakra needed changes slightly with each step. It must be preportionate to the exact area of the object and what condition its in. In other words, areas near where I stompped in the boulder would need a different amount than those that I haven't disturbed." The pen and pad were replaced and he stood again. A quick stretch and soon he started the run again.

Yet again, he slipped back off the boulder after only a few feet. Nothing major. He growled a bit and looked at the low mark on the boulder. He set back up at the beginning area nd began another dash for the boulder after focusing his chakra to his feet again.

He seemed to be making it again. He felt comfortable about this run but still it wasn't enough. As he neared the top, he found his footing slipping and began to flip off the boulder. He cought the flip in enough time to bounce back and save himself. He slide back again and looked up to the rock. He growled a little to himself and scratched his head....

Ok...ok...I need to calm down. This isn't as hard as it looks. I've done itonce, I can do it again, no problem. Just focus Roy...focus... He began to move toward his starting point and, after placing the chakra, he moved quickly toward teh boulder again.

Another nearly successful attempt. He knew he was getting closer to a breakthrough, he just had to keep going with it, just had to keep pushing bit by bit. Beads of sweat began to run down his face as he sat there glareing at hte boulder. It was like this thing had a vendetta against him and he ment to overcome the thing. He moved toward the starting point and reallocated his chakra and began the run.

[DC 20 14+1=15=fail...damn things got a vendetta against me...]

Another almost attempt with a failer so close to success. It seemed to be wearing on him more and more. The longer he went the more it wore on him physically but not his emotions. he had the determination and he ment to push it to the limit. He pushed off the rock and flipped back down to the base. He saw fresh cracks from his feet. He had used to much chakra againa nd attempted to fix it. he moved toward the starting point and began the run again.

[DC 20 19+1=20=pass #2 3 more to go]

His frustration and anger had finally manifested into something he could use and he dashed off with great force. The ground trembled a little under his feet as he ran and he dashed up the boulder. He found himself at the top of the boulder sideways and stopped for a moment. He stood there and grinned at his success. It took him a moment to realize that he was standing sideways and still sticking. He had succeded again. He looks around for a moment and makes another mark before flipping back off the rock. He grinned and began to jump around with joy

However, all the runs had taken their tolls on him and he began to feel hunger a fatigue wearing on him. So he sat down for a moment to gain a few bites to eat. He opened his bag and began to pull his lunch box out and began to devour it.

The lunch was a good recharge for Roy. He needed it and was now ready to give it a try. He could feel that he was starting to make a bit of headway. With that in mind, he began to try the skill again, however this time, he attempted it with more of a walk than a run. He figured if he could do it will at a hastened walk, he was really getting it. He moved to the starting point and began to focus his chakra...least he was before he remember he hadn't cleaned up. Moving back oer to where he ate, he cleaned up his spot and put everything back within his bag before going back to the spot to focus his chakra.

After focusing the chakra to his feet using the Tiger seal, he began a slightly quickened walk toward the stone
