Uh, yeah hey ppl. I know this ain't exactly the intro. thread, but I'm DanceLink from Pierrefonds. I already have a couple of comments to make...

1: Yay for poutine: La Belle Province's Specialty food. sweatdrop
2:
CiF
I do. :] We used our backyard as a fridge.

All I remember from the '98 Ice Storm is that back in French School (in St. Sauveur), the kids used to hold competitions to see who's house went without power for the longest amount of time. I ran up a grand total of 7 days. I think the longest time was 13-14 days. eek 3nodding

s**t! Around that time, I used to live near downtown, so I think I went without electricity for only like.. what.. 3 days? My school was also in Montreal downtown, so it was like.. what.. I had to go to school after a bit less than a week. =_=;;

Oh I still went to school... amazingly since I DID used to live on a mountain on the outskirts of St. Sauveur (which during the Ice Age, was absolutely FUN to go up & down). xd

Ice Age. XD

Yeah, I've been to St. Sauveur before.

I used to live on the outskirts in a region called "Domain St. Sauveur" on a mountain JUST outside the Morin-Heights border with St. Sauveur. 3nodding

Ile Bizard? That's actually not too far from where I live. I live in Pierrefonds. I also live about a block and a half away from Riverdale High School on a street so named... Riverdale. 3nodding

My gawd! My geograph sucks! I've been living in Montreal, Quebec ever since one and a half, but still... all these names don't tell me anything. =_=;; Ile Bizard really does exists?
PostPosted: Wed Jan 18, 2006 5:54 pm

@ DanceLink: Yeah, I know you live in Pierrefonds (you mentioned it earlier in the thread). That's why I mentioned that I live in Ile Bizard. Smaaaall world. (:

@ death-light: Haha, yeah. Ile Bizard really does exist. Good thing it isn't spelled "Bizarre", huh? XP Actually, "Bizard" was a guy's last name... but anyways. Don't feel bad about not knowing these places. They're actually just a bunch of small towns in the West Island (Ouest de l'Ile) that are all bunched together.

Oh me my! Are you telling me that it's not some sort of a weird island near Quebec, but acutally a urm.. a place situated IN Montreal? o___O;; Gawd damn you're right that's it's not called Bizarre, because if it were I would really think of this as a strange urm.. name. Hm.. I guess Montreal is not just about downtown and NDG. xD
PostPosted: Wed Jan 18, 2006 7:25 pm

Haha, no, not quite. XD

Yeah, Ile Bizard has a population of about 13k. Not bad for the tiny island it is, I'd say.

I don't know... IN Montreal? Sometimes we're a part of Montreal, sometimes we aren't. :/ For the moment we are.

Heheh, "oh me my". That reminds me of my French teacher. He always goes "oh me, oh my". It's kind of funny actually, with his extremely thick Italian accent.

So urm.. where EXACTLY is Ile Bizard? xD If you can put a map up here, it would be nice. ^-^ 13k? Hm.. I really suck with numbers too, I don't even know how many we are in Montreal. xD

Oh my! xD Are you saying that your french teacher is italian? xD It's funny, but when we think about it these days, if we end up with a pure quebecor french teacher, we might learn more slang than anything else. As for a french teacher that isn't really from France or Quebec, I think they're much better because they don't neccessarily learn french from their young age so they're more careful with the language. I dont' know if I'm making sense or not. ^-^;;

Yet another Montrealais here. Montreal-ouest to be exact. Yes, that is a specific section, not just the general west area. [So few Montrealais seem to know of it's existance]
Currently attending Vanier College.
And I am terrible with french [60s-70s in high school] and haven't had a french course in a year and a half, so what little I knew has all left me. sweatdrop so screwed this semester

Almost seems like we're getting another ice-storm. Ice all last night, now all warm and rainy, going down to -5 tomorrow and snowing... Two transformers blew a few hours ago right near my house. Luckily the power didn't go out, though. [just watch it go out as I post this >.<]

I think we're somewhere around 3 mil in population? or was it 300k? It's been too long since I've taken a geography course. ^^;
I can't recall where Ile Bizard is...
