Hey; I'm new to this guild smile I am pro-choice, obviously. With me it is all right if other women get abortions, as long as those others aren't getting an abortion all the time....
I personally would never ever want to abort a child of mine, on purpose or accident. I'm 18 years old and am already nursing the idea of children, which makes my heart fill with... love, I guess I could say. It is a good feeling, anyway.
The biggest thing that I don't like when pro-lifers and -choicers debate/argue is when they throw the Bible into the equation. It makes me extremely uncomfortable, especially when someone might be arguing against someone who is not of Christian or Jewish faith. What does the Koran say about abortions, anyway?! Not really interested, but oh well.
I hope to read lots of good and interesting things in the guild! I'm very happy I got accepted in smile

I am Gold. I've been called Muraii by some. I am 17 years old and I've always believed in prochoice ever since I even heard of the concept. I live in Alabama and I really don't like it. Hate it. heart
The whole concept I believe is all about choice in anyway you slice it. Religion is a choice. You choose to believe what you want to believe. In escense you have made a choice to believe in religion. Vice-versa. What a female does to her body and wants to do to her body is her decision and it something she has to decide to live with. However I believe it is not right to take choice away from her by outlawing abortion.
Life is already taking a lot of choices away, let us keep as many choices as we can.
The world is too crowded...
If every child born out of love, then gaia would be a lot smaller. Would you not say?

Well met all . . . *deep respectful bow* For now, just refer to me as my handle, as I am not apt to handing out my name on the internet.
Obviously, I am pro-choice, and was quite surprised to find this place. When I think about it, though, it shouldn't be a surprise. Despite the deluge of newbs, n00bies, and general idiocy of some areas, Gaia does have some rather intelligent and mature people within it's gates. Hopefully, this will be a haven for some more inspired conversations. Don't get me wrong, I am as goofy and silly as most here- but am also capable of having aa hearty debate.
As for my reasons on this choice- until it is my child within a woman's womb, it is none of my damned buisness what she does with it. It is rediculous that there are people that want to limit the rights of American citizens. Men and Women have fought and died for generations to allow us the freedom to do as we both need and desire. Now there are a sect of people that wish to limit that freedom.
Gladly am I among the crowd defending a woman's right to choose. Not to go out and get pregnant for the sole purpose of aborting, but to have that choice is what matters. Similar to the famous fight of Larry Flint- the constitution does not defend what you like, it defends what you hate. We all have parts of the world that are not agreeable, but to take away a woman's right to choose is simply incomprehensible.

Hey, I'm Katya, a pseudonym which I commonly go by. I'd say that I'm obviously pro-choice, but there may be some pro-life people listening in on our conversations as it were, so that sentence would be untrue.
For me, pro-choice means exactly that: a choice. People can choose to abort, keep or put up for adoption, it makes no odds to me, so long as someone else's opinions aren't forced onto me.

Hi. I'm Jane- or feel free to use my handle if you like. I'm 24, geeky, queer, and about as liberal as they come. I'm also pro-choice- no restrictions, no limitations. I believe that abortion should be available, safe, and affordable to women at any stage of pregnancy, for any reason- which is why I'm here. Nice to meet you all.

Hi there. I'm Kendall (or Lo), I'm 19 years old, an avowed liberal, and a member of my college's VOX (Voices for Planned Parenthood) chapter. I am pro-choice, pro-affordable abortion for all women, and pro-comprehensive sex education in public schools. I am anti-parental notification and anti-spousal notification (which is just another term for "Let your boyfriend talk you out of killing that precious child of God!"). I am also, as you may be able to tell, an athiest who is beginning to study Buddhism. I'm a psychology student, and a regular in both the ED and ED-Soc and Psych forums.

Hello! My name is Sakura_kura and I am definatly pro choice and have always, or believe that I have always believed in people being able to make their own choices.
I am 19 years old and I live in Ontario, Canada. I am currently attending my second year of University at Laurentian University and I am studying to become an English major. I hope to work for a publishing company one day, as an editor. I have taken one Women Studies class and am in my second and my third one will start next semester. If I get one more full class (or two half classes) I will have offically minored in Women Studies. I find it very interesting, this is definatly one of the reasons I am here today.
I hope to get great discussions out of this place! Good to meet you all!

Hi, everyone. My name is Ace. I am eighteen years old and I live in Omaha, Nebraska. I have always been pro-choice, but didn't become active in the pro-choice community in my area until one of my schoolmates was raped. Her life was ruined because her parents would not allow her to abort the unplanned child, due to their beliefs (not hers). Her dreams of graduating high school early and attending Harvard (where she'd already been accepted) were dashed because she had to drop out to give birth and raise the baby on her own.
When I return to college in a year or two, I will be studying to be a Registered Nurse with a scholarly minor in Women's Studies, which I'll expand on as time goes on.
I thank you for including me here--it was very important to me, believe it or not. I know I'm going to learn a lot here.
Regards, Ace
