I've attended broadway plays before, Lion King, Cinderella, etc. They were amazing each time.
I love musical dramas, I love a lot of musicals like In The Heights or Hamilton.
I don't have any experience with opera or ballet.
I watched the In the Heights movie and it's depicted so accurately and I love it so much.

I have seen the Lion King play and loved it. I was scrolling at replies to see who has seen things that I have and got super excited with you response. Would you ever see it again? And did you grow up watching the film?

My favorite musical drama is West Side Story. The conflict, and the passion are hard to equal. I have seen a live performance, but in this case the film easily surpasses that. Think, America, on the roof.

I have honestly never seen the original West Side Story musical drama. But I have recently just seen the inspired film they made in 2021 from the drama. I did enjoy the film though. And I like how you said "Think, America, on the roof." 4laugh

I attended a professional drama performance. I saw The Lion King musical and really enjoyed it. The last play I read was A Doll’s House, which I found interesting. I haven’t experienced opera or ballet. I’ve watched a movie adapted into a musical, but I preferred the movie Beetlejuice.

I have read "A Doll's House". It is nice to find someone who shares the same reads with you. mrgreen

I have never attended a professional drama performance. The last play I read was Medea. I did enjoy it actually. I have been trying to get back into reading and that play was interesting. It kept me on my toes and I wanted to know what was going to happen in the end. I have never seen a musical drama. I have seen a musical drama. I watched Hamilton, not in person though. I did enjoy it, however, I have not found another musical that has caught my attention. I do not know much about opera or ballet. I have never really been interested in them. I have watched the Medea film, and I enjoyed it. I think I enjoy reading more for drama. I think since I find the genre interesting, I am not constantly getting distracted while reading.

Another "Medea" fan! I also enjoyed reading that play. I think that reading and this book I have read recently has resurrected my love of reading.

Have you ever attended a professional drama performance? Which type of drama was it (play, opera, musical, dance)?

I’ve attended Lincoln Center’s The Nutcracker, it was a musical.

I have always wanted to see "The Nutcracker" live. Did you enjoy it? And would you go again?

I have never attended a professional drama performance but I always wanted to because base on what I've heard professional drama performances can be an amazing experience. The energy of live actors, the set designs, and the way a story unfolds right in front of you can be really captivating.

• What is the last play you read? Did you enjoy it?

_The last play I read was Medea and I really enjoyed it because while reading this play, I felt both sorry for Medea and scared of her actions. She is a woman who has been deeply hurt and betrayed by her husband, which makes her pain and anger understandable but on the other hand, the way she chooses to take revenge shocked me.

• Have you ever seen a musical drama? What type of musical was it? Do you enjoy musicals?

I haven’t personally seen a musical drama, but I know that musicals can be a very exciting and emotional experience. There are many different types of musicals, including classical, modern, and even rock or pop musicals. Some musicals focus on historical events, while others tell romantic or dramatic stories through songs and dance.

• What is your experience with opera and ballet?

I have never watched an opera or ballet if it’s not on a movie or a show, but I know that they are beautiful performances. Opera tells a story with singing and music, the singers use strong and high voices, and the music is very emotional. Ballet is a dance performance that tells a story without words

.Have you watched a film / TV adaptation of a play? Which format did you enjoy most, and why?

I haven’t watched a film or TV version of a play, but many plays became movies or TV shows. Both film or TV adaptation of a play and the actual play are special in different ways. A play is exciting because it happens live, and the actors’ emotions feel real. A movie or TV version have special effects, different places, and set up to show more details.

I highly recommend going to see plays/musicals. They bring a unique experience, and it is worth watching the talent that the people share onstage. I have gone to both high school and professional plays/musicals, and they have always been worth it.

I agree with you entirely you worded that very well with how her pain was understandable but still shocking with the way she went about with her pain.

In most cases I say that the written version is always better than the film because you get to use your imagination. However, when it comes to plays, I’ve always found it more interesting to watch the film version just because the actors really bring it to life. Rather than just reading each character’s part on your own.

Word Count: 58

I agree with you, actors put a new perspective with the character they are playing, and brings it to life.

I have not attended a professionally done drama performance. One that captures my attention is the play of the Lion King Broadway musical! I plan to in the future be able to sit and enjoy a well choreographed event that brings to life childhood characters.

The Great Gatsby for an English assignment in high school. It sparked as well as captured my interest in the story. I saw the movie which made the story have a realistic sense and the portrayal of Jay Gatsby by Leonardo DiCaprio.
