Meaning of (name): Bastianna is the female form of Bastian, which is taken from the name Sebastian. This comes from the Greek word sebastos, meaning "respected".

The family name Casquette heralds their lineage back to the "fille à la cassette" ancestors-pure and virtuous females sent to marry.

The rest of the title means "of the cemetery"

Personality:

Diminutive in stature, Bastianna is not lacking in character. Everything about her is dramatized. Though she practices Santeria, she is not as devout or as powerful as she would have everyone believe. She wields her words and her powers as more of a shield than a weapon. Keeping herself as mysterious and dangerous seeming as possible without going into details, is what's allowed her family to flourish in this business for so long. She cloaks herself in the supernatural and makes even the non-believer's hesitant to mock it.

Bastianna knows how to keep a secret, her family has been doing it for centuries. Completely trustworthy unless crossed, she "buries" the secrets of her clients until they want them dug up or until she deems it appropriate to bring up the past.

She is the first of her siblings to come to this graveyard which she named, Bonaventure, Ville de Mort.

Quirks/Character Traits:
✶Can summon gusts of wind and summon objects 25 lbs or less. She also does some healing.

Bastianna's room is to the left of the welcoming area. It is made of ebony marble shot through with white streaks. As matriarch of the family, her room is the most lavishly detailed.

Backstory:

Born into the infamous Casquette family, Bastianna left shortly before the death of her grandmother to make her bones. It was she who founded the Bonaventure, Ville de Mort--the families new ancestral grounds. She's waiting on her siblings to join her.

The Form:

Ingredients:

Ice from the realm of Niflheim, Hel's Dominion
One black cat
One book of Grimm's Brothers Fairtyales
Three drops of blood from a Dame Blanche for the Mother, Maid, and Crone
A jar of grave dirt from a striga
A tuft of hair from a loup-garou's first transformation
One cup of wine (not to drink) from the fair folk
One cast iron pot

Combine the ice of Niflheim with your favorite drink and snuggle with a black cat.(If you don't have one, you should get one).Then burn a book of Grimm's Brother's Fairytales like the firewood it is (a horribly inaccurate book with a narrative driven by the times and not the truth of the supernatural).

Now that you have a cat and a drink, and you've burned a book of inflammatory "fairytales" you are ready to begin.


Instructions on how to brew it: The wine and blood should be combined in the cast iron pot and set directly in the flames of your already burning fire. The concoction should be mixed until the tuft of hair from the loup-garou has disintegrated completely. At the apex of the full moon, the bottle of grave dirt is to be spread in a small crescent outline. The potion is then poured into the crescent symbol appearing to make a blood moon before the perimeter of grave dirt soaks up the residue. At this time you should have finished your drink and soothed your cat (if the cat is hissing and spitting, this could go terribly wrong). The potion essence will then be inhaled causing 18 hours of sleep. You will awake to find yourself restarting a new and better year (unless of course you could not calm the cat!).

What does your potion do exactly? Tugs the strings of fate until undone to find yourself beginning the year anew in different, better circumstances.

Side Effects: Instant 18 hours sleep, Compassion, Integrity (which hardly seem side effects at all) uncontrollable dancing at midnight for one week, and the smell of lemon verbana everywhere. You also will briefly lose your sense of taste for two weeks as though you have eaten grass.

The potion is permanent and is to be drunk during a full moon on the night of Samhain. Coincidentally, this rare event occurs on October 31, 2020 and will not happen again for quite some time

Historical note of last brewer: 1944 was on a collision course to set up for the invasion of New York, upon use of the potion the year began anew and the Allied forces won the war by the end of the following year.

A shameless flirt, she makes a lot of innuendo. She likes her males like she likes her food--spicy and strong without over-doing it.

She bosses around her brothers whenever she gets the chance. Though she is proud of her beauty, she's far prouder of compliments to her cooking. (Not to say that a good compliment won't earn you her favor).


Quirks/Character Traits:
✶ Easiest way to her heart is to bring her rare ingredients or praise her cooking.
✶ She's a stout, buxom lady and proud of it.
✶ Knowing that her father was a Troll, she picked up the accent from a herd member who came from the trolls.
✶Trades with Tessilme a lot--between the two of them, they trade a lot for spices that she can use to cook or Tessilme can use to make spirits. Tess also trades spirits with her.

Meaning of (name): Sabine is of Celtic origin and it is used mainly in English and means "uncertain or boundary". The name Sabine is also a Latin baby name, which is from an ancient Roman tribe name, Sabinus.

The family name Casquette heralds their lineage back to the "fille à la cassette" ancestors-pure and virtuous females sent to marry.

Personality:

The second youngest of the Casquette family, Sabine is the trader and the builder of the family. Most of their trade relations are through her as she seems the most innocous of the group. Two of her major traders are within the flock--Tessalime who trades for aromatic mean in exchange for dyes and region specific plants and Vanraulimore who supplies weaponry work in exchange for precious metals/gems amongst other things.

She's grouchy, loud, and often crass--which is why she is often used to create diversions. Because of her Nixie ability she also is the keeper of the underwater vaults. Sometimes she sees things in the water, in what her family calls "water waking".


She does not truly believe in her family's religion but rather in the strength of family. All-in-all, she's a foot soldier who is devoted to her family and their way of life. It doesn't bode well to cross her.In a very rare sentimental streak, she preserved the stone masonry rose her grandfather had made for their grandmother Agatha and placed it in Bastianna's room as a sign of love and devotion

Quirks/Character Traits:
✶Can communicate underwater and hold breathe for hours.
✶ Can haggle a zebra out of his stripes.
✶ Builds the mausoleums/does the masonry work most of which is inlaid with family blood to give them protection.

Lives in the partially sunken room of the masoleum. There is an alcove for her and her familiar to sleep with some actual room before a set of stairs led into the river-fed pond.
