Zzyzx's tail kept trashing as he stared down that slime. He was irritated as hell and he couldn't wait to get that stupid pink blob in his hold! His fingers flexed before his nails pressed into his palms as he growled. Obviously this was going to be more of a pain in his a** than he thought!Diggs took a couple deep breaths, trying to get himself ready for the chase again. Well, this would actually be a good thing to help him get ready for a dig he was going to head off to in a couple months. Smirking, he finally got back to chasing the slime.

Zzyzx decided that this time... he was just going to launch himself straight at that stupid pink thing that was beginning to taunt him so. "You aren't gonna get away from me you crazy little thing!" Though, really, Zzyzx was being the crazy one at this point. Almost crouching down in a predatory manner, he launched at the slime, but went right over it and crash landed.Diggs had to stop again, giving himself another moment to catch his breath. He was used to manual labor, but not this motion intensive! Bending over, he braced himself by placing his hands on his thighs.

Zzyzx pounded a fist on the ground as he realized he hadn't even come close to getting the slime that time! Eyes still narrowed, he peered over his shoulders to look at the trouble maker that was evading him so easily! Seeing the pink thing just pissed him off even more and made him all the more determined!Diggs finally caught his breath again, laughing at himself a bit. "Old boy, you need to get yourself back in tip top shape for your next dig! Talk about your wake up call, sir!" Grinning, the nutty professor started after the slime again, though not even coming close to catching it!

Zzyzx pushed himself up from the ground, turning around to stare down the slime he'd been after since this whole thing started. But this time, he actually noticed something... the poor thing was terrified of him. He had to face facts that he had been pretty overly aggressive in this venture. With a defeated sigh, he plopped down and held his hand out. Much to his surprise, the little slime actually inched his way. "Huh..." and then nosed his outstretched hand. "Well about damn time..." he muttered with a smirk. Diggs was pretty pooped at this point as he plunked himself on the ground. This was certainly an eye opener of an experience! He wasn't done just yet, though!

Diggs watched the slime who was shockingly watching him back at this point. That grin of his never left his face, save between moments of catching his breath, anyways. "You, my little slimy friend, are certainly a challenge to behold!" Still all smiles, Diggs dug in his pocket, fishing out a piece of jerky -- one always should have jerky one their person after all -- and held it out to the slime to see if he could coax it. It took the bait! Slowly the slime slithered closer until it was within sniffing and nipping range of the food. Diggs beamed as the slime took a liking to the jerky. "You're my kind of critter!"

Kaveh was pretty sure that this was a terrible idea. What was he doing, trying to help the familiar professor with his slime problem? He was much too small to make a lot of difference. Still... they were kind of cute.

Well that didn't work! Kaveh had been so sure that he'd been close to getting a slime and helping the professor out in the bargain. But not yet. Maybe if he sneaked up on them?

Maybe he really was too little to do the job properly. He'd almost gotten one this time, he was all but sure. Kaveh tried to summon up his courage as one of the slimes came back his way.

Elsie wasn't quite sure what she was doing when she stepped onto the campus. The swarms of slimes... it was terrifying to say the least. She had to beat down the urge to go full protective-mama mode.
Well, at least that's what she thought until a slime hopped up close. She gingerly scooped it up and looked at it with curiosity. They didn't seem that dangerous...

 Well, there really was an ordeal occurring. People were trying to catch the slimes left and right! Yasahiro just wanted some quiet honestly. But it was hard to get away from adventuring nightmares and daydreams. Finally he found a more secluded spot and sat to meditate. He didn't want a familiar who was loud and caused a ruckus when he wasn't around. So to him it made sense to wait, he knew patience would pay off. And it did! He had only been meditating for a few minutes when he felt a small body lean up against his leg. He didn't open his eyes, but simply lifted a hand and started to "pet" the creature. "That was a mistake..." The litch stopped petting the slime to wipe his hand on the ground. "You're a bit gooey, but you seem to like me, so it is only fate we have found each other." Yasahiro moved slowly, not to startle the poor guy. Since he wasn't screaming or hollering, the thing seemed to cooperate. When he finally got to look the creature over, he found it was a beautiful purple! Yasahiro was happy with his find.

 Leta skye peeked out to see what the chaos was all about, and found it to be pandamonium. So of course she joined in. Apparently the goal was to help the staff by catching the slime-things......and upon closer inspection some of them were rather cute, so why not. Half running around trying to add to the chaos and half trying to catch a slime Leta set out.....

Jeanette had come for one purpose: to catch a cute pet. Her mother wouldn't get her a fennekit, so a slime would have to do! Some of the more colorful ones really caught her eyes, and she wondered if they were cuddly. How affectionate were these slimes, or were they more of a hassle? There was only one way to find out! She moved slowly, pouncing when she thought she had a slime in grasp, but they all scattered. The bakeneko freshling pouted a bit, then thought to go see if they had any free treats to give the slimes. Maybe they'd react better to food!

 Brynn had come down from her dorm in the morning to find the campus covered in tiny, jumping blobs. What are these? she thought, as she watched other students chase after them or try to coax them over. Presumably a Care of Magical Creatures project went wrong, Brynn decided it might be best for her to ignore them until the madness blew over. She was going to walk to the dining hall, when she discovered one sleepily chewing on her shoe. She wrinkled her nose in distaste, and picked it up. Its half-lidded eyes gazed back into hers, and she sighed, smiling and shaking her head. Looks like Brynn had a new pet.

When Flax stepped out of his dorm that morning, he couldn't help but laugh at the little guys huddled outside his door. He wondered if Laurel had seen any of them, and what she thought. That girlfriend of his probably loved the slimes, and thought they were great fun! When the Nixie saw signs posted everywhere about how they were up for grabs, he took full advantage of the situation. He couldn't put his hands on any of the ones near his door, as they seemed to already be avoiding him and slipping right out of his hands. He decided to move instead to the courtyard outside his dorm building, to see if he had more luck there.

As Neovi followed his gaze, Celedrin remained perfectly still. Then, almost as quickly as he could blink the small fey snatched up the oozeling. Celedrin relaxed, letting out a sigh of relief. His breath caught in his throat when the fey held the slime out towards him. “Oh, er...” He stared down the pile of goo shimmering in Neovi's hands. His nose twitched. “What would I even do with it? He asked, leaning away. “It probably better if you keep it.”After a thoughtful moment he said, “It doesn't seem dangerous.”KitsuneAura A full week later!
