"I'd paint it blue. Blue's a nice, calming color. But I don't want to stay here that long." Not in the apartment, anyway. Maybe she'd find a place near by. Close to the lake, maybe. "Yeah. They posed as humans when they first came. Citzenship and all. I never did." She considered his question. "Yes," she said. "And I was born in winter."

She was unable to give a specific date, but Lori seemed to expect that. "We never really celebrate birthdays," she added. "What else does it want?"

Lori tapped his thumb on the table and printed her parents' surname in the little boxes, then paused over the birth date. Well, they had to approximate.

"Early, mid, or late winter? Everything else was on your form already."

"Midwinter. Before the fireworks holiday. The weather never kept the drunks off the beach." She considered that for a moment, attention falling on Seamus, rather than Lori. "What's on it?" she wondered. "Oh, is it the stuff I filled out at the hotel? That was dull. Made my arm ache."

"Are we done with paperwork now?"

Lori nodded. "Yup. How does... December 15th sound?" He didn't want to jip her with a Christmas birthday just in case she fell in with humans and began celebrating birthdays and holidays.

"Yup, with that the paperwork's over. I don't think you'll see any more in your time here." He offered the young woman a smile, "So what do you want to start with? Money? Employment? Social interactions, law, what?"

"Sounds fine." She'd have to make an effort to remember that; as an immortal entity dates didn't particularly matter to her. "Oh, good!" she exclaimed, smiling. No more paperwork! Brilliant! "I don't know, why don't you pick?" she suggested.

"You pick, I'll listen."

"Alright, we'll just go in the usual order, then."

Lori took up the full two hours, although mostly because of the questions, tangents, and unrelated side conversations that erupted through time. Of course when they were finished it was still too soon for the other boys to be free. It was coming up on lunch time, though, so Maia had a fair choice of things to do. Seamus had jumped off of her lap to continue exploration before their time was up and Lori had been forced to let him out before he continued sitting in front of the door and meowing mournfully. Now he could be found asleep on a coworker's desk.

"Are you hungry at all?" the elf asked. Frankly after all that time together he figured Maia wasn't going to want to spend lunch with him as well.

Maia thought she understood how Seamus felt. Two hours of talking would be dull for any cat: and the subject wasn't terribly engaging either. She was grateful he'd stayed with her as long as he had, though.

"I could eat," She admitted. "So you have lunch off then?" And she assumed Toby and Dari did not, at least not at the same time Lori did. "Want to have lunch with me?"

"Well we all get lunch, we just can't all decide to take lunch at the same time." Most people brought lunch from home, but Lori found the cafeteria's food particularly inoffensive, never mind the fact that he could burn the house down boiling water. "I'm sure Toby and Dari would like to have lunch with you."

"I figured out that much," Maia said. "If everyone took lunch at the same time, nothing would get done! No one would be watching the Dragon, no one would be keeping an eye out for new entities." She made a face at him. "You know, that's common sense. I'm not stupid."

She shook her head. "I don't want lunch with Toby or Dari. I asked you. You're much more fun outside the classroom."

Lori lifted his hands as if in surrender and laughed.

"Like I said, some people just don't know!" He grinned and nodded. "Sure, we can go for lunch. We can't really go out, unfortunately. There's nothing around here, but the caf is pretty good."

Hah, and he was the fun one. Great.

"Let's go then!" She beckoned Lori with a hand. They couldn't go out to eat, which was unfortunate, but the closest place would have probably taken longer than Lori's allotted lunch time to get to.

"I'll bring Seamus back something." The cat sidhe was sleeping, but she'd have a treat for him later. "Can I stay in research until Toby comes to get me?" She asked.

Lori made a bit of a face as they walked together.

"Be careful what you bring. He's an old man, he gets devil farts." Of course most fae could be considered 'old' by human standards. He was, and Maia was getting there. "I don't see why not. I can show you the dragon and you can hang out with Seamus if you want. I have work to do, but I'll be there if you need me."

"Fish," Maia said. "Cats like fish." She made a face at him. She didn't make a comment about the farts, instead saying, "he doesn't seem that old. He still plays." And judging by the great wealth of toys he had, he played often. "But he's fae, so who knows."

"Come on. I'm going to try a dessert!"
PostPosted: Mon Jul 20, 2015 11:52 am

"You could probably get him tuna." On a sandwich, but same difference. There wasn't usually much fish at the cafeteria. "Or you can get him cold cuts not-on-a-sandwich."

Lori nodded then and grinned. "Well, yes, we don't really know how old he is, but he's an adult for certain. He could very well live millennia, though. Just like us." Dessert. Hm. Well, there might be some kind of dessert down there for lunch, but he couldn't be sure. There was usually fruit, that was sweet, but not fae-sweet necessarily.

The entered the room and it was more bustling this time. Maia may or may not notice a small beast watching them from atop a decorative partition, about a foot high, green and winged with its head tilted to the side.

"Tuna?" Maia echoed. They were so far away from the sea, she didn't imagine the tuna could be very fresh. "I'll get him both!" she announced. What were cold cuts? "Do you think they have cheese burgers?" she asked. They had been a staple while in human form.

The room was busier than but Maia wasn't paying attention to the people. Her eyes had landed on the small creature watching them. She pointed him out to Lori. "Look! Is that the dragon? Ooh will he come eat with us?"
