This time, however, he had come prepared! Reaching inside of his jacket's pocket the moment he saw the devils swarming out of the alleys, he placed two little white plugs in either of his ears and let out a contented sigh. "I have the most loving, beautiful, understanding wife in the world...okay I said it, honey, you can stop poking me now, all right?"It was time to clear the road; heading back to the warehouse wasn't going to be the easiest journey as devils were wandering back into the path, but this time, there was little doubt that he would make it in the mind of the Boss of the Vultures. He let his demons flank him and deal with the demons in front and back, blasts of powerful magic from Shiva coupled with incomparable strikes from the blades of Zaou-Gongen. He jogged slowly down the road so as to make decent time without going so hard that he spent his wind too soon in case there came a need to really pick up the pace. There was no such concern necessary...for the moment. He let out a small breath as the warehouse came into view and motioned for Zaou-Gongen to scout the back of the building while Shiva took up his guard position at the front again to ward off any incoming challengers.
He wasn't in the mood for fighting right now, surprisingly, but more in the mood for getting the things done that they needed to finish in order to complete this mission and put an end to this insanely long day. Kakyo cursed under his breath and shook his head as he stepped inside of the warehouse. He'd just missed a great opportunity to make a joke about 'planting the turnip six foot under and seeing if it grew', or something along those lines. He blew it...his comedic timing wasn't nearly as sharp as Rina's could be sometimes, and even Mo-Po when his useless body would allow it could have a pretty decent sense of humor. Hisoka...well, the less said about his sense of humor the better, but it ranged somewhere between dark, really dark, non-existent, and occasionally sharp and wry? Rather, it was kind of hard to know exactly what he was thinking for real at any given time, and it was even harder to tell most of the time if when he said something funny (or unfunny) if that had been an attempt at a joke or an accidental slip of the tongue. Mostly, they didn't ask.

The white-haired being that had been the leader of their faction as of last night appeared out of nowhere in the warehouse, as if simply checking up on the members who were left of what had once been his own movement. His smile was easy and Kakyo couldn't help but nearly flinch at the sight of him, but once his nerves died down a little he ran a hand through his hair and sighed. This was the first the Vultures had seen of him and they were poking around from either side, Hisoka merely watching as though he'd learn the appearing trick if he studied him...Mo-Po curiously studying him through the cope of his rifle...Rina literally poking him in the sides to see if he was ticklish or if there was anything she could learn from it. Kakyo merely stood before him and lifted the feather from his lips as Kotori, surprised by the supernatural, settled in closer to his side.
"I never forgot. Nice of you to check up on us, though."
"It is nothing. I merely feel that thought I am no longer your future administrator, I would still like to be considered your friend. Do you believe such a thing is possible?"
What kind of a question was that?

Big Benny was on patrol and his because his pulse had dismissed Shiva, there had been no warning or protecting when he'd stepped out the door and nearly been obliterated by an attack that had him stumbling back through the open way and closing the door sharply behind him. He didn't have time to imagine what would happen if the Septentrione decided it could just blow the freaking door down and come after them...it was dodge or die, and that was the only way to dodge. Gratefully, after a few terrifying moments of waiting...it passed without incident. They were safe...barely...

"I have the most loving, beautiful, understanding wife in the world...okay I said it, honey, you can stop poking me now, all right?"He still didn't have a real plan to convince Trumpeter to work for them, but they were just going to have to wing it when they got down there. And looking out for the attacks of the now-ever-present Benetnasch was a necessity, as they had nearly been blindsided by the Turnip of Doom rounding a corner down the road just as they'd first exited the warehouse and had to flee and circle around to the back door to slip back inside unnoticed. It was close, but they were safe...lost another scout devil in Gozuki, however, and that was going to be a problem. His secondary roster was thinning out and he knew that should it deplete, Hisoka would be without demonic allies again, which would weaken their overall combat potential as a unit. Couldn't have that. He had to figure out a way for them to get down to the terminal again safely...and this plan, he thought, was probably their best option. They just had to wait for the right moment to use it.
"Any sign, Mo-Po?" he peered out the door and saw nothing.
"No Big Benny, Boss. Demon activity a minimum. ...Seems like a trap."

I know you're worried, but you're running yourself ragged out there. Sit down for a minute, take a breath," the reasonable voice of his wife came after he had finally come down from rendering Mo-Po a stammering mess of pulp in the canopy, brushing his knuckles off as he settled in beside her, "We could just rest a little while as you think of a new plan, we could talk about what we're going to do in the new world...anything else right now to take some of the edge off." Her offer was tempting. He wanted to listen...to relax, to forget about the Septentriones for a little while and Trumpeter and all of the madness. He wanted to...but this was the world on the line. This was the future they wanted to build together. He needed to fight...to go outside and push it to the limit...he needed to...to...!

...It was the son of the previous Oboroguruma that his Zaou-Gongen had sliced in half earlier in the day. It had gone on a quest across Spain, training in swordsmanship in all the world, and followed him up the cliff and through a duel against the Dread Pirate Roberts and a multitude of obstacles to overcome and at last confront the devil that had once, so very long ago, cut down his sire in a duel to the death (that had more been like a desperation save of his master when he had been about to get run down). Both devils were speaking in a language incomprehensible to him, some kind foreign, demonic tongue that had never been heard upon this earth. Kakyo tried to ignore it, but it was impossible not to...as the car's engine revved and his strongest devil stood opposite his destined foe.

That's what he believed, at the very least. Maybe they were coming too close to figuring out how to defeat it, or maybe it just had a grudge against him for having cursed its name so many times over the last 12 hours or so, or maybe it was just an a*****e picking on one specific group of people before trying to exterminate the world for its own kicks. Whatever the reason it was trying to take him and the Vultures out, Kakyo wasn't about to give the son of a b***h the satisfaction. And he was going to keep making those turnip jokes no matter how much it pissed Benetnasch off until one of them was dead...and it wasn't going to be him, damn it!
"All right guys, so that was a bad idea," he deadpanned as he rolled back in through the door and closed it, the residual force of the attack nearly knocking it off the hinges anyway and revealing their hideout to the Septentrione in the process. Especially when only one of you has been using the summoning app since Day 1," the kindly voice of a doctor spoke as she looked over several of the vicious bruises, cuts, and other wounds that Kakyo had endured in protecting his people over the last seven days...particularly this one, since everyone had gone their separate ways. Hinako had been meddling against since Otome had been won over to the Restorer Faction, though, and sent the doctor out to look at him the first chance that she had gotten. Though he wanted to protest, it was probably necessary...and she had already taken a look at Mo-Po's chest and given him some of his almost-missing medication. This way he would at least last until the world ended. Or Benetnasch killed them all. Either or. "You didn't have to come all the way out here. It's been dangerous lately...you should really stick with bigger numbers back in Inaba. If anybody's going to beat this thing, it will probably be them. We're just going to do all we can to make it us, instead."

He was still in possession of a number of injuries that probably would have laid him up for a bit in need of rest under normal circumstances, but given the whole middle of the apocalypse setting, that wasn't really an option if he could still stand up, move around, and fight. And those were all things he could do...and would continue to do as long as his people and his family were in danger. His fist clenched as he stood up from the couch not long after Otome had left the warehouse, and his lips curled into a toothy smile, teeth biting down on his Crow's Feather, letting a renewed energy fill his body. Rest time, over.

"I have the most loving, beautiful, understanding wife in the world...okay I said it, honey, you can stop poking me now, all right?"They were getting into place behind him, Hisoka at his left and Rina with her laptop at his right...each knew what their duties were in this current excursion to the kiosk where the Trumpeter was stored. It was starting to feel like days on end had been rolling past since this mission started, but he had to admit that he had a really good feeling about this one. They were healthy, they had time to recuperate, and now there was little but a few demons between them and the terminal where they would have to summon the little trumpet boy and convince him to join their cause. Only this time...he had a plan!
