Diego definitely didn't benefit from that, though, and the blond decided Cerulean wasn't th ebest place to train the Abra. However, as long as he could keep Diego from being knocked out, he'd still get some battle experience. Maybe they could pull it off after all. There was a Pokemon Center they could take advantage of when things got too difficult like with the Sandshrew. It wasn't a bad plan at all. "Looks like we have our game plan. Let's get these two back into shape first." "Mog~!" Alejandro smiled at Mufasa. He had to figure something out for him, too. Cosmog...wasn't going to be easy to train up. They didn't learn anything other than Splash, which was the world's most useless move. Why did it even exist in the first place? Maybe he could find some rare candies to give to the little guy. Regardless, he put that out of his mind as he entered the building, approached the counter, and handed Joy Diego and Camila's balls so they could be treated.

That was definitely Alejandro's fault, though; he was the one that arranged the battle team. "Alright, bud. C'mere. Let's get those bites disinfected and treated." Alejandro had to use two potions on Diego to get any favorable results, but it was fine. Wasn't like it was all that difficult to get the basic stuff considering trainers could restock on them for free at any store or lab. "There you go. All better." "Bra." Alejandro grabbed Diego's ball, but Diego didn't seem interested in being returned that time. Looked like he wanted to spend some time with his trainer or just enjoy the sun for a bit. That was fine with Alejandro, though. "Alright. Let me know when you're ready to go back in." Diego moved over to Mufasa and Alejandro watched as they...talked? Had to be telepathy or something because they were interacting, but he couldn't hear anything. Shrugging, he stood and looked around for their next opponent.

A place with things to do to keep him entertained or partially distracted from the task so time felt sped up even when it wasn't. Not that he was exactly in the mood for entertainment; distractions, however, were perfect for him at the moment. As he and his two Poke-followers wandered around, Alejandro noticed a Treecko of all things sprint into a nearby alleyway with an angry Spearow chasing after it. Curious, he went over and peeked around the corner. There it was, swiping defensively at the Spearow with what looked like an armful of berries. Alejandro guessed the Treecko probably stole them from the Spearow's personal stash and that was why the bird was so angry. Not that Spearow had any other mood aside from that. Usually, Alejandro would just leave it at that because it wasn't any of his business and, frankly, he didn't have any personal interest in the Grass-type. Buuuut....That Spearow would make decent training fodder. So, of course he barged in of the squabble with Diego and Mufasa in tow. "Looks like you could use some help. How about it, Diego? Wanna see if you can take down that Spearow?" "Bra."

Giving a frustrated growl, he decided another trip to the Pokemon Center was in order instead of just using the potions. "Ko." Alejandro looked down at the Treecko he'd rescued to see it holding up a bunch of Kelpsy berries as a means of thanking him for the help. He hadn't interfered with the intent of being a good person, but he wasn't about to turn down free berries. "Thanks, little guy." Alejandro took the berries and stored them in his bag as the Treecko retreated into a makeshift shelter of boxes and an old blanket. There was a soft and weak "mew" from inside the shelter and if Alejandro was a cat, his ears would've perked straight up. Given that the Treecko was carrying berries, which aren't exactly safe for cats, there was only one thing that could've made that noise. And, his heart thumped. Could it really be?
He knew it was probably stupid to intrude on the Treecko's shelter, but now his interest was piqued. Plus, it sounded so weak. How could he ignore it? Setting the bag aside and motioning for Diego and Mufasa to stay back, Alejandro moved over to the shelter quietly and moved the blanket just enough to get a peek inside. Sure enough, curled up on an old tattered pillow, was an injured Mew. "Ko!!" Alejandro jumped back when the Treecko jumped at him, clearly intent on doing some serious damage to him for getting close to its home and injured friend. "Whoa, there, calm down!"

The little guy was absolutely furious; or, maybe protective was a better word for it. After a couple minutes of Alejandro dodging attacks, the Treecko was forced to a full stop when Diego decided he'd had enough of the show and used his psychic power to hold the Treecko back. "Could've done that a little earlier there, bud." "Ko! Tree treecko!" Alejandro knelt in front of the frozen Treecko and dug around in his bag to find something that would help the Mew. He decided to settle on a super potion; wasn't like he was going to use them in the foreseeable future anyway. "Let it go, Diego." Diego complied and the Treecko backed away from him, now more cautious than angry. But, he held out the medicine regardless. "Here. This should get your friend back into decent shape." Treecko stared at the potion and looked back at him, seemingly judging his intent, before darting back to the shelter. It turned and waited, which told Alejandro it was giving him permission to treat the Mew. Probably didn't know how to use a potion bottle. Alejandro shuffled over to the shelter and pulled the blanket aside. Mew looked at him, but didn't react violently towards him; he guessed it was because the Treecko was letting him close. "Hey there. Don't worry; I'm not going to hurt you." By now, Alejandro was partially inside the box shelter, noticing it was rather spacious. He looked the Mew over and brought the potion into view. Mew flinched from the quick movement and he cooed an apology. Once Mew was calmed down, Alejandro sprayed its injuries. He could tell Mew didn't like the sting, but was glad it was toughing through it. Once his injuries were disinfected and healing, Alejandro smiled. "There. You're not completely healed, but that did the trick. Nurse Joy could get you back in top shape better than this thing could." Mew and Treecko didn't take kindly to the suggestion and he held up his hands in surrender. He wasn't about to get them both angry at him.

Diego and Mufasa were both curious, but that was quickly sated when Mew popped out from behind the blanket. "Alright. You two take care of yourselves, okay? Don't go getting into fights you can't win." Did he want the Mew? Of course he did. He'd be an idiot not to. But, he wasn't about to force the little guy into a ball; he helped it, but that didn't mean it trusted him to be a trainer. If it wanted a trainer at all. "C'mon, you two. Let's get to the Pokemon Center. That last fight took a lot out of us." "Mog~!" Mufasa jumped up into his arms and Alejandro started for the center, Diego following dutifully.

card | bag | pokédex | achievements | bank Alejandro really had to wonder if Joy silently judged trainers that came into the Pokemon Center to have their Pokemon treated several times a day or if they didn't care. Like waiters at restaurants didn't care when people ordered the same thing. Walking out of the building, Alejandro was met with the Treecko and Mew. He looked around, wondering if they needed help again, but Treecko caught his attention with a slightly annoyed huff. What a bitchy little grass gecko. "You two want something?" "Ko." Treecko pointed to herself before pointing to one of the balls on his belt. Didn't take a genius to know what she was saying. "You two want to come with me?" "Mew~." That was an unexpected development. But, his dads had gotten him a Sceptilite....And, Treecko was a Grass-type, which meant she'd be useful against Misty. Plus, who would be stupid enough to turn down catching a legendary? And, a Mew at that? "Alright, but we're in the middle of training right now. If you're going to join me, I expect you to pull your weight." Treecko saluted him to show she acknowledged his words while Mew simply did a twirl of excitement. He wasn't going to question why they decided to come with him even though he probably should. Taking out a basic ball for Treecko and a luxury ball for Mew, Alejandro placed them down to let them enter at their own leisure. Which was pretty quickly; there was almost no hesitation from either of them. "Huh....Welcome to the team, you two."
