Sciurus took care to keep the chair steady as Sammy settled into it, though the brake was still in place. Once she was sitting he went around to kneel in front of her, fiddling with the foot rests. "You may put your feet up on these if you wish, my apologies for any discomfort. After the test I can request a nurse to bring you a mild pain reliever if you need it."
PostPosted: Wed Jan 07, 2015 9:12 am

Sammy peered down and placed her feet on the rests he mentioned, a little surprised at how attentive he was being. It almost seemed like his dark sense of humor was suspended for the time being, or at least, unleashed on others this time around. It made her reconsider the notion that, underneath that gruff and irritable exterior, there might just be a softer side deep down as she once thought...at least until the next pang of pain hit.

While Sammy wasn't normally a fan of taking drugs if it could be avoided, she had to admit, she never had an injury this severe and didn't think she could go without.
"Uh, yes, yes please. That's...probably a good idea..." she said quietly, slumping in her chair a little.

"Very well." Sciurus nodded before rising and going back around the chair. He had to argue with the brake before they could get moving, but once they did it was slow and steady with as little bumping and bouncing as the surgeon could manage. Sciurus was silent as they headed for the elevator, not accustomed to small talk and ignoring the noises of other patients around them.

Rolling around wasn't as as comfortable as curling up on her side and staying perfectly still had been, but it was a million times better than walking around on her own with a bump and jostle with every step. As the rooms passed them by on either side, she peered up at Sciurus for a moment. He had a stark serious look on his face so, playing off his expression, she faced forward again and stayed quiet, letting him concentrate on where they were headed.

(I would feel bad for the kid if he didn't sound so insanely annoying... xD However, I feel slightly bad for him, hitting on you for so long, and all you can think of is the driver's new hair cut. HE CAN'T TOP THAT! rofl

Oh yes... Here, the bus company itself is paying INSANE fines if their buses are late or early by too much, which is just proper stupidity... Especially when there are new buses every ten minutes during the day on weekdays. Then who would really care if one is cancelled? But nope, they end up losing millions for no reason at all. So I guess the problem is even higher up than those running the stuff, which just makes it even sadder... .____.

On a happier note though, my little project is going so well! I am trying to happily greet the drivers every time I step on a bus, unless I am wearing headphones, in which case I will simply smile from them. And so far, most of their reactions are going from emotion_donotwant to emotion_awesome in a flash~ xD Some even look happy to see me before I say hello now~ Well, more than the usual, or at least it feels like it. o u o b)

"C-c-could you d-do that...?" The zombie felt instantly happier. Because what could possibly be better than heat? Apart from maybe some heat and food... Where did that doctor go, anyway? "He... P-p-planted th-them...?", he asked, once again failing to see the joke. What a peculiar doctor, playing farmer in his sparetime, Orrin thought. "...W-w-wait... Y-you do what...?" It was hard to picture this in a serious manner, and all that he could think of was the car putting on a massive fake mustache and a hat. "I... I-I don't th-th-think you'll f-fool them... Th-th-thas e-easily... S-sorry..." He took a moment to think the problem over. How did you hide a car in an amusement park? "M-ma-maybe... No... B-b-but w-we could... Mmmmm... C-can you p-p-pre-t-tend to b-b-be a... A-a-a r-roller-c-c-coaster...?"

{xD I only feel bad for the kid in terms of "Why the hell hit on ME out of all the other people around??" Especially when I was getting used to Nate with longer hair a bit. Before he cut it it had a bit of a messy look to it, I thought it suited him. rofl /Is so bad/ I really do, I prefer the bus driver over the kid, oh lordy. emotion_sweatdrop

Damn, the timing is that strict for them? I guess I wouldn't notice something like that with the buses here. Some of them usually come early a lot, & some of them unfortunately are always late...(Not counting Lewis because 15 is a pretty long route) Yay! Happy drivers! <3 I usually always say hello when I get on, sometimes I try to ask how their day's going. Usually when I get off I do it at the front so I can tell them thanks, or I wave if I'm in the back.

There was a mishap with one of the buses two days ago, I was waiting for 9, who is usually a very specific bus with a specific driver because 9's route is a loop. But a completely different bus showed up with a driver I know doesn't drive 9 because he's usually with 5. As it turned out riding with him a while, the driver ACTUALLY REMEMBERED ME FROM RIDING 5 emotion_kirakira }

"Course," Voyager beamed proudly. "I mean, I don't really know how I do it still, and I'm starting to get the hang of moving around that way, but it should be fine" The Plymouth started feeling like he had missed something though, the way the conversation was going. "Planted... Well he does actually have a bit of a garden of sorts, but that mostly medical, funny lookin' stuff... And somethin' called Curare ... Don't eat any of those." Voyager honestly didn't know what half of the surgeon's plants were for, despite constant explaining, pronouncing curare as 'Ker-ray-ree'

The van stared at Orrin, surprised. As far as Voyager was aware, his human form was a tall male-looking thing in brown and tan overalls and turtleneck. He couldn't help the fashion choices, but no one had ever given him grief before, except for that one sorcerer they had passed. "Huh? Whad'ya mean? They don't have sorcerers, do they?" The van was silent for a moment trying to imagine rollercoasters.

Sciurus briefly glanced down at Sammy's head, but still couldn't come up with much for conversation. He stopped in front of the elevator and passed his ID in front of the scanner, waiting. They only had to go one floor down. When the door finally opened, he had to maneuver carefully because the elevator hadn't stopped completely level with the floor, but finally they were in the middle of it as he pushed the button and waited. This elevator had another door on the other end. "Almost there..."

When next she heard his voice, it was slightly reassuring. From what she could gather by their interactions thus far, Sciurus was one of those guys who could say some off putting things from time to time, but it was somehow even more worrisome when he was silent. In a word, complicated. When he spoke, it put her somewhat at ease. "Kay." she replied shortly, watching the numbers light up inside the elevator.

(My brother and I spoke of this just the other day, how in a lot of countries, people are so kind to their bus drivers, and vice-versa. But here, you are not expected to speak to them, nor are they expected to do the same. I even remember that someone once made this idiotic complaint in the newspaper that they DID NOT want bus drivers to greet people, because they "did not mean it". Apparently, their view of it was that the friendly greeting between people who actually knew eachother would somehow shrivel up and die because "OH NO, SOMEONE IS GREETING STRANGERS TO MAKE THEIR WORKING DAY NICER" -_____-

Today, I did meet a rather pissy driver though... I was trying to catch the same bus my mother was on, but didn't know what time it was. So when I saw a bus coming up, I figured that would be the one and just made a slight dash for it. When I figured I wouldn't make it, I just gave up. But then the driver saw me and stopped, so then I HAD to get on, of course, even though it turned out to be the wrong bus... So I happily, and awkwardly, thank the man, upon which he SCOLDS me, because I wasn't "waving my arm at him, making it easier to tell what I wanted". I felt such a strong urge to tell him I never really cared that much about catching his precious bus in the first place, but instead just deserted into a seat, only to get off a few stops later to wait for the right bus. ^^"

I mean, I have been scolded by rude drivers in the past, once for not waving a flashlight like a maniac, so that they would see me, even though they clearly kept speeding whenever they went past that one stop, knowing that it was poorly lit and all... But yeah, this one just caught me by surprise. o____o)

"C-c... Ca-cu-cu... C-curray...?" Orrin scratched his head. He had never before questioned where curry came from, and he had certainly never thought that it would be found in a surgeon's garden. And why couldn't he eat it, anyway? He already had. Lots of times. The zombie shook his head. Silly car...

Now, what was that thing on about? Orrin felt completely and utterly lost. "S-s-sorce... Wh-what...?" No. He wouldn't even try to understand that. His brain already felt fried as it were... "Y-ou're a... V-v-very w-weird car..." He gave the seat a friendly pat.

Sciurus waited behind her, drumming his fingers on one of the wheelchair handles impatiently. The elevator ride seemed both too long and too short at once, and a moment of standing still when there was so much running through his head was almost too much. The surgeon started to speak finally, as if to clear his own head. "The test should be a simple one, perhaps an hour long. I will be leaving you here shortly, but there will be another professional waiting to help you and I should see you again sometime when you return. There may not be a dye at first, but if one is needed it will be of a gadolinium base, via injection. Unless you have kidney problems the only side effects should be a possible headache or slight nausea."

The elevator doors behind Sammy opened then, and Sciurus carefully wheeled her around and out into the hall while he racked his brain for anything else she needed to know. The hall was much quieter than upstairs and empty apart from occasional chairs. "Any questions?"

Sammy wasn't quite sure what he meant by 'dye' but she figured it probably had something to do with making her injuries more visible for the machine. Still quite groggy, the rest of the mystery she figured she'd deduce when the time came. Shaking her head slightly, she denied her opportunity to ask any questions. "Not really."

{;3; That seems kinda mean & lonely... Although I know not all cultures/nationalities are very sociable, like Germany kinda. As for the newspaper idiot, that's just downright rude. Some might not mean it, but others might be really sincere about it, YOU DON'T KNOW how all of them are. If the worst they do to you all day is say hello you should be considered lucky. Like Nate always tells me "You're welcome", not all the drivers do. & I'm 65% sure he means it, but it's still nice to hear even if he doesn't.

Hm... Must've been having a bad day maybe? Or maybe he was actually worried about you but just can't show that very well. How nice would that be? You have an admirer who hadn't even expected to see you, and he stopped when he almost missed you, afraid you couldn't catch him & cursing himself for being hasty. He was probably still grumpy with himself instead of at you... I'll bet he missed you when you were gone~ I've gotten yelled at before, I tried and failed to beat 6 to the next stop, because 5 was there & I was hiding from the rain. I hadn't realized 6 was there too so he went past & got stuck at the light. I got a different 6 driver mad at me once, I actually hadn't intended to get his bus because I thought I missed him already, but he showed up & I tried to beat him to the next stop. He picked me up in the middle, but he really was yelling at me xD}

Voyager was busy thinking about the Dragon Coaster from Playland. He wasn't even sure where the conversation had gone now. "Curry? Yeah, I like curry. Spicy stuff, but really cleans ya tailpipe out." He felt like man's best friend the way Orrin was patting him. "What, a sorcerer? They do magic stuff...And throw fireballs..." Voyager added with a wince, "Don't get them angry"

They stopped before a desk, waiting, and Sciurus stared at Sammy's head until another man came behind the counter. "Hello. Someone needed an MRI?" "Yes, this patient. I'd like particular focus on the joints, and have caution with her arm. She is to be returned to room 135 afterward, and given food with ibuprofen." The surgeon made to take his leave as the radiologist came around to meet Sammy, and paused looking back at her. "Take care not to wander here; the hospital morgue is on this floor." Warning delivered, he resumed heading for the elevator.

(We're basicly raised by our society not be inconvenient to anyone, which is only stupid, really... Sort of like "speak when you're spoken to". A lot of people will rather stand up on the bus than sit next to a random stranger, if not most. Like a strange fear of bothering people, I guess? It really is bizarre, in my eyes...

And yes, that was just so insanely rude! I cannot for the sake of me understand how anyone can find a polite greeting to be a bad thing. I even had a classmate once who worked extra as a cashier, and was scolded for saying "thank you" when handed money by a customer. This lady had clearly had a bad day or something, but she just shout at her not to say such things if she didn't mean it. o_____o" Which is just... so wrong. I mean, it's part of the job to be friendly, and thanking someone when handing you the cash is just a normal thing to do...

OH MY GOD NO. rofl "Will I see the purple haired lady today? Will she be on time? Will she wave at me? Perhaps this time, she will notice me~ emotion_kirakira ")

If he was confused before, then there was not a word strong enough to describe how he felt now. At least not one that he knew of... Mega-confused. That was it. Very, very mega-confused. But to avoid appearing dumb, though he usually did either way, he simply nodded in false understanding.

The zombie did know what a sorcerer was though, just never really thought that they would be real. Because obviously, magicians would be a bizarre thing, compared to a talking deer and living cars, or even such a simply thing as rising from the dead. "Y-you don't... D-don't like f-f-fire...?", he asked. Maybe vehicles didn't need as much heat as people did...

Sammy looked up skeptically at the man she was being passed off to. Not because she doubted his capabilities, but because it sure sounded as if Sciurus did. "He...he was just kidding about the morgue, right?" she asked quietly under her breath to the radiologist, half of a nervous laugh tagged on at the end. "Wait, don't answer that." >.>

Some things you just don't want to know for sure.
