Megumi smiled, listening patiently to the Priestess"Don't you worry about that... I'll always be here to listen." She grinned softly and forced herself to remain decent, controlling herself to refrain from taking Juuri's hand or doing something else that was stupid. This was obviously a woman who was much more than she appeared. And she left the eye wanting for nothing. So she was entirely out of Megumi's league. But she would take what she could get. She was talking to --and touching-- this woman. Blessings in and of themselves.
But Megumi's eyes were sad as she listened to Juuri's tale, letting it sink into her heart and locking the feelings into the waiting trap.

"Thanks, jii-chan!" Smiling, Irihi poked his head into the clearing. Crossing his arms, the child huffed. "We will be staying for a bit!" He declared. But then, his expression grew serious. "You two are big people!" Ah. He must've meant 'adults'. "So unlike little people, Megumi-sensei and Juuri-san knows chakra fatigue isn't a good thing." Hm...he must've meant 'children'. "So! There's a great inn down there! Let's go!!" His head retreated from the corner and there's was the rustling of something, the next thing the two older shinobi would hear was a BONG and a crash, followed by an 'ugh!'
To Suna 19/40
"Ir-...!" She stood using the wall as support but with Megumi's help, made it around the corner. The child did hurt himself, as he was sitting on the ground rubbing his head. Guess he got up too quickly and hit his head on the fire escape. Groceries were all around him. "Ah... You know...you didn't have to do so much..."
To Suna 20/40
"I-I'm ok!" Scrambling up, Irihi picked up the dropped bags of groceries. A large smile played on his lips. "And it isn't much! Juuri-san is traveling with us, so we're a family!" Did he mean comrades? Or does this child really... But the warm smile on his face held no falseness or disguising feelings of ill will. In fact...Irihi seemed incapable of such. "So we won't be leaving until both Juuri-san and Megumi-sensei gets better."
Guess Irihi hadn't missed that Megumi's chakra levels had dropped dangerously low too.

Megumi had one hand on Juuri's hips and one hand on her shoulder, her shadow clone pulling Megumi's umbrella form her jacket and holding one above Juuri and one above Irihi and the groceries. Megumi was completely dry... Not that the rain wasn't hitting him/her... She was... waterproofed. The rain rolled off of Megumi's specially treated hair, and his/her jacket seemed to repel all the water that hit it. Megumi was tired, but he/she was used to it. And it seemed that they didn't like water very much... Even Megumi's face had been waterproofed. His/her make-up didn't run, and his/her pale skin was as dry-looking as ever. It was strange, for sure... Megumi laughed as the boy she could consider her son gave them a chiding lecture, pretending to look sad and scolded. Wait a minute... If we're a family... Megumi grinned, What does that make us... And what does it make her? Oh. My. God. You people are depressing. Can't I turn this thing off Maybe you should have thought about that before you ate into the head. A mistake I will rectify the next time I get a chance. He playfully added.

Shikaenja sat infront of the wood pile, and then pulled out his sword. He grabbed a rock the size of his hand, and held it firmly. Taking the sword e sharpened it, and created sparks that flew onto the pile. It struck a small match and then a flame erupted. He then went into a bit a of a flash back moment. It was a night of relaxtion for the furious three. They sat around a fire just the one he was looking at now.
"Akane-Sensei is too harsh." He said, and then Anzu plucked a pebble at Nyame from across the fire. Instantly her face became enraged, and the chase began. Shika sighed, and then formed the handsigns to his shadow possesion jutsu. Gripping Anzu with ease, and surprisingly got Nyame as well. She was the swiftest of the three but he guessed she was to pre occupied.
"You two stop being foolish, and sit down. Sensei will be here soon." He said, and then got up walking away from the fire making them two walk towards the fire. He sat down, and the sat down infront of the fire. He released the shadow possesion, and turned around. Seeing them two stare at him made him smile. The flash back moment disappeared and Shika smirked, and let out a small laugh.

Irihi pounded away (rather violently) on the inn door - if any of the Hyuuga Council had seen him right now, they would've probably wondered where all those years of hammering in etiquette had gone. However, he did have the Hyuuga physical frailty, so after a few minutes, he stopped to catch his breath, before resuming pounding on the door. "Heeeey! Obaa-san, open up!!" Maybe the old lady was on the other side of the house and can't hear? So he just have to make the knocking louder! Taking a deep breath, Irihi backed up a few steps and prepared to...
"Oh! Dear me, I'm coming, I'm coming." A surprised voice seemed to come from inside the inn and an old woman opened the door. She was still carrying a pot in one hand: it would appear the innkeeper was busy in the kitchens when Irihi was nearly ready to kick her door. Speaking of which, the child's foot was still frozen over the threshold when she opened it.
Smiling softly, Juuri apologized to the innkeeper before with one hand, slightly dragged Irihi back so that he stood solidly on both feet again. "Ah...please excuse us." She wasn't able to do her usual bow, so an incline of the head would do. "Ma'am, may we ask for room and board for the night?"

Nyame huffed and wagged a finger at him. "Don't be so sure!" But after a moment, she burst into laughter. "Gomen nasai..." Still chuckling, after she calmed down slightly after a moment, Nyame continued: "Remember what sensei said to us the first time we met him?" Oh. It certainly was quite a memory all right.
Background wise, Team 15 - or what was SUPPOSED to be team 15 - had been senseiless for a whole half year during the time before they met Akane. All three were exceptionally brilliant, however, and did not waste that half year interim - the only squad which had grown so rapidly and comfortably held a lead over other squads - and didn't have a sensei to boot.
The secret to their success? Well, strictly speaking, they did not even run official missions. Well, occasionally they did run D-rank and low C-rank missions, which do not require a Jounin overseer...but the majority of their "games" was incapacitating their squad leader hopefuls. Unsuspecting Jounin were sent straight to the village hospital: one of the most memorable scenes, Anzu wacking one unconscious by manipulating the root of a nearby tree. Shaped like a fist, too.
Course, the Council was pretty mad at them. Something about abusing their gifts. And then they sent Fukushima Akane.
Nyame looked skeptically at her teammates.
Why on earth was she doing this? It was midnight, she was supposed to be asleep...but somehow, Anzu had convinced her and Shika to come out and help him dig a tunnel to the Academy front door. Now, the Academy was out of session, it was the summer months, but "squad" 15 gathered here every morning - as the Council tries another of their squad leader candidates.
So why were they tunneling? Strictly speaking, Anzu with his Mokouton limit was doing most of the work. He had claimed, if they could get rid of this 'San-ing', then the Council will leave them alone. But Nyame was skeptical. A Sannin holds legendary prestige in a village - second most powerful or even equal in power to the reigning Hokage - would Akane really fall for something like this...?
((Flash forward to next day.))
The three were seated comfortably in the classroom.
The door ripped open.
Fukushima Akane, with his usually impeccable robes stained by dirt and now crowned by leaves, glared at his future students.
The three suppressed a shudder, at the killing intent.
He actually fell for it...
A cold, evil chuckle left Akane's lips.
"I have only met you three..."
"...but prepare for HELL..."
Nyame had never seriously regretted more another decision in her life. To Iwa 13/40

Megumi tossed a small rope of coin hanging on a senbon into the door frame beside the woman without a word. Megumi's shadow clone waited with the umbrellas, forming a patio to keep the rain from them. Megumi didn't move on her own. She moved with Juuri. She only moved when the other moved, but she seemed to predict each movement, so it seemed they would move at the same time. She listened and watched with an amused expression as Irihi took charge, and was reined in by the priestess.Perhaps that might be our cover. OH, NO! I WILL NOT SURVIVE LISTENING TO THIS PRATTLE!!! Megumi grinned underneath her collar I think it would be an excellent cover.

The old woman smiled. "Of course! Come in, come in. It's cold out there in the rain."
"Thanks, baa-chan!" Once inside, Irihi began promptly squeezing the water out of his long hair, while Lailah climbed out of his jacket and began shaking herself, spreading water everywhere. Both boy and puppy laughed, as Lailah tried to get close and shake water on Irihi each time.
"Irihi-kun!" Chastised Juuri, frowning. "That's not a very nice thing to do." She was right - he was making a mess in the innkeeper's place. Hm...she didn't have much chakra...but at least it should be enough to do this. Drip, drip. The water on the ground and walls gathered, forming a small line of water, and began dripping towards and out the door.

Megumi grinned. Always for others. She nodded once to the innkeeper and continued to lead Juuri forward. She looked to the innkeeper, communicating with her eyes (and spelling in sign language, not knowing if the innkeeper could even read what she was saying.) Where is our room? This persona was made to be straightforward and somewhat unnerving, but only to the point where people wanted to leave it alone. It prevented questions into his/her origins, and it allowed them to simply exist as 'that eccentric mute.'

Night passed peacefully. The fire, close to them, crackled... Even though she knew she shouldn't watch it for too long, Nyame couldn't help a small smile that crept up her features, as, like crimson-robed dancers, tongues of flame pranced merrily upon the firewood. It was strange. Such a long time since she had last camped out...but it wasn't unpleasant. The Spring breeze felt nice...it gave the air a certain cleanness especially crisp, that one would not be able to obtain from any other time of the year.

The old woman smiled kindly at her guests. "Your rooms are upstairs, on the second floor. The baths and restrooms are on this floor."
She looked at Irihi and Shinjukai - after all, both of them had been in the storm long enough to become drenched before Megumi sheltered them with her umbrella.
"Come now. There are some spare yukatas. I apologize that they may be rather plain...but...if you remain in those soaked clothing, you'll catch colds, my dears." She took Shinjukai's hand. "Come, this way."
A low rumble filled the room. A stomach growling...?
Irihi blushed, and turned his gaze aside. A small, albeit defensive sniff.
"...all the excitement makes me hungry, ok?"
"Arigatou - ..." She didn't complete the formal thank you. The old woman seemed to have expected so...but did not want it... A small smile crossed her face, as Irihi trotted along too, Lailah in his arms... Such moments.
...
How much longer would this peace last? A flicker of guilt pressed her heart. But her resolve hardened once more. She must...
...
Before that card...the tower...destroys the one village that had become her home...

Megumi turned down the yukata, her entire outer shell was waterproof. She wasn't wet in the least. Megumi began to walk with Juuri toward their room, her shadow clone taking the groceries from Irihi and disappearing instantly, a slight puff heard from upstairs as it finally decided it should leave them, after having put all the groceries away in record time. I bet a lot of people wish they could do that Megumi chuckled silently, being infinitely patient as always.

Without concern or any other regard as to privacy, Juuri began slipping off her over robe before reaching behind the collar neckline for the first two buttons of her dress. Like most kunoichis, she did bandage the chest area after all - in placement of the civilian substitute for a training bra.
The flowing dark cyan cloth of her over robe floated to the ground like water - it was made of fine linen after all, as appropriate material for garb in the burning desert. Noticeably, the ceremonial embroidery stripe was part of the over robe...the dress below was the simple, flowing Greek style. She slipped down her headpiece, until it was merely around her neck like a necklace, and began drying off her short hair with a towel - before brushing it through...
A burning blush flickered across Irihi's face... He hadn't realized it before but...she was not just beautiful but exceptionally so. Though...why did she cut her hair short? It was, unlike his, slightly curled toward the end of her current length - past her chin - it made him wonder, but she probably had lovely wavy hair at one point or time. Why would she cut it though? For the lower-ranked kunoichis, it was understandable...extravagantly kept hair would only get in their way. But he had seen Sannins, and a trend most notable in the noble families, to keep their hair long as a sign of pride...
And...so many scars on her back... He would've never guessed such a woman, who looks so fragile, could bear so many wounds...

Emily Marneth rolled 2 20-sided dice:
13, 18
Total: 31 (2-40)

((First roll is the search of the room +9, second roll is the bluff to keep her voice level +12.))
((Search = 21 Bluff = 30))
And Megumi studiously began 'securing' their room, stepping forward and checking the windows, tapping the walls, checking for hollows, and running her hands around every doorframe and windowsill, all the time keeping Juuri in her peripheral. She needed to keep herself busy, otherwise she wouldn't be able to trust her pale skin to stay that way. She already felt a warm red glow creeping through her body, she couldn't afford a full-on look at the priestess. She pulled a long spool of wire from one of her endless pockets, tossing three bells in the air and placing a few rolls of bandages back into her jacket's pockets, catching the bells between her four main fingers, and holding a few spools of wire in the palm of the same hand. She noticed that her hand was the slightest shade of pink. What does that mean my face looks like? She took a steadying breath, and --without looking towards Irihi and Juuri,-- she spoke, trying her very hardest to calm her voice. "Does anyone need anything else from the outside?"
Search: (Int) You can make a detailed examination of a specific area, looking for lost objects, hidden compartments, and traps, or to discern other details that aren't readily apparent at a casual glace. The search skill lets a character detect some small detail or irregularity through active effort, whereas the spot skill lets you notice something with a quick scan.
Bluff: (Cha) The bluff skill allows you to make people believe what you want them to believe. This skill is especially important where trying to sabotage enemy strategies, send false information or trying to save your a** from behind discover. The counter roll for bluff is sense motive. The highest roll wins the check.

In the morning, it was Nyame who awoke first. Shikaenja was still asleep...and she let him be. He was probably tired, after all, they had been traveling for pretty far along the previous day. The morning dew...the gentle sunlight brushing over her face...it was...well, a refreshing feeling, to be so close to nature after so long. She took a deep breath, closing her eyes, and smiled. The mountain air was so crisp, so clean. Ah...that's right. She shouldn't neglect duty. She and Shikaenja are away from the reaches of Konoha's sentry, after all. So, just out of routine...besides, her family did have many enemies. "Byakugan."
To Iwa 14/40
Irihi looked oddly at Megumi. "Ehhhh? Megumi-sensei, do you have a fever or something?" Ah. It was cute, but the boy was as dense as a rock. Funny thing was, Irihi was much taller than his sensei, so he had to lean down, but gently placed his forehead against his sensei's. He frowned for a moment, contemplating. Hm...it was warm, warm...no, it was hot! "Megumi-sensei should go to bed early." He declared, before, neglecting to change and still adding wet footprints over the wooden boards of the floor... Irihi pulled the Jounin out the room, not even giving Megumi time to comment.
She fingered the still yet to be tied obi of her kimono... The owner was right. They were a bit big, besides being very plain. She didn't mind that they were unornated, and sure, size could be adjusted... Juuri looked at the cloth of the obi with a even gaze. Before finally, a small sigh left her, and she began wrapping it around her waist, before securing it in the back. Watching how easily she had done this...she must've been quite used to obi-tying... Even if it brought back unpleasant memories of her clan, if even for only a mere moment.
But her mood was quickly lightened. Cute... Thought Juuri absent-mindedly, watching the...one-sided...exchange between teacher and student.

Megumi shook Irihi off for a moment and formed a shadow clone with the persona of her only responsible brother. Megumi smiled as the color drained form his face, and he walked over and began to secure the room again, paying no attentions to either of their companions. It was simple, really: He took wires and suspended them in a web along the walls using senbon to turn the wires. The wires led to the three bells which were held by short wire hanging from more senbon. In such a way that it would not be in their way when they moved, but if anyone tried to move the door, or the windows a different bell would ring. he sat back and watched as his sister was forcefully sent to bed by Irihi. And his 'responsibility' left as she left the range of his voice. He turned to the priestess "you've noticed, then?"
