Once it had sunk in, Ursula wrapped the chain around her fist, and pulled back, hard.
Her heels dug into the ground.
Her tiny arms strained.
When the bear trap came free, it wasn't with a tingling sound or spray of glitter. She was disappointed it came free at all. She'd got it, hadn't she? It was hers, finders keepers. She got to tell it whether it was free to come or go.
"No fair!" she protested.

Jamie looked at Macy, hesitating. "I don't want you to use it on me if you need it yourself," she said. "I mean... you're probably more useful in a fight than I am," she added honestly. "You only got one?"
Well... that wasn't good. "I was hoping people would get more than one." Her eyes went over the girl, then focused on the crystal. "I... don't think I should take it, if that's the case."

Her first swing was followed with a second, the blade of the scything slicing through air and beast as it arced the other way, almost leaving a trail of reflected light behind it. Ally was almost surprised with herself. The movement had been natural, something her body seemed to remember even if her mind didn't.
"That's odd," she whispered to herself on the follow through. It didn't look like fighting was going to be the hard part of this.

Catching the small crystal that popped out of the unknown monstrosity, Cyan gave a smile to Hanna. "No, no it's fine! I've had worse!" Had she? She couldn't quite remember - probably not, actually. She needed to keep up a good face for this other ghoul that wielded a rapier, though. "Say, what's your name? I don't think I caught it." She asked, pushing herself off the ground just as the little cat thing appeared once more to give her some little shtick about the crystal and her wish.
"No...I don't remember yet." Though she had an inkling of it. She was being so protective and trying so hard to keep this ghoul looking on the bright side - her wish probably had to do with what.

Her attention was drawn back toward the strange creature she had hit as a small shiny thing detached from its side and floated over to her. As she touched it, her fuzzy mentor returned, whispering its advice into her mind.
"I feel all right, miss... ter," she said, tucking the shard into her sash. "I can use it any time, ri—"
At the mention of her wish, Connie froze again. No, she didn't remember it, and the subject was starting to become a sore one. She wanted to, she really did, but whenever she tried, all she felt was an aching emptiness. She preferred pretty gems and flowers. She turned away from the bunny-cat and watched the other girls fight.

As her second swing came to an end, Ally found that her hands and feet were already moving into position for yet another. She didn't bother to think. If her body remembered, that was good enough for her.
Something deep inside swelled up as she raised the scythe for another blow. Power. There would be power behind this attack. She knew suddenly that the other two were just the precursors to this.
"MIDNIGHT!" The blade of the scythe seemed to glow it's strange blue tinted light. "LIGHT!" The light seemed to focus on the point of the blade. "BRIGHT!" And she brought the blade down into the beast.
She was almost surprised when the point of light seemed to explode. Neat.

Dani looked at the outstretched hand with a bit of... dread? fear? This sensation was new to Dani. If only she could remember why, but to Dani, the outstretched hand seemed like something to avoid.
Why though? The girl is only being friendly...
A bit of panic filled Dani as she didn't want to upset a potential friend, so she did what seemed more natural to her and she bowed towards Hecate instead. Hopefully that was an acceptable greeting as well though Dani wasn't sure of any cultures where bowing would be considered an insult... Relieved to hear that there were others who had no idea what was going on, Dani relaxed quite visibly.
"I'm Dani." she replied.

"I'm managing.. though I feel kind of stupid about how bad I did back there", Aria falteringly chuckled to Macy.
"Though next time I get the chance, I really should put more effort in so I can get a hold of one of crystals... whatever this black stuff is, it sucks... hard", she grimaced at the black mist that was still seeping from her wounds before pulling out her cracked gem. "That, and I really don't want to find out what happens if this gets any darker."
"Heh heh.. I don't know if I can claim having something worse then this before. This injury appears to be more then your average wound.." Whether or not she had something of the same in the past, was still a mystery. Trying to think of her past did her no good. Nothing came to mind, and she felt as though she would start to go crazy thinking of it more.
"Huh..?" Breaking free of her train of thought, she stared at the girl with a dumbfound expression before finally realizing she has asked her name. "Oh! Sorry - I'm Hanna. You are?"

Glancing around at the others again, Orabel found herself approaching another group of girls, wanting to know if there was anything else they remembered. She couldn't be the only one who wanted power... right?
Vanessa stood quietly aside not wanting to interfere with the other girls or let anyone notice her injured back. She quickly flicked her long hair back hoping it would hide the tear in her shirt and injury. The way her hair brushed against the tear making the numb tingling sensation flare when she moved her head was unnerving. She looked at Zelda and Aria faintly surprised to be addressed by them.
From Zelda she hardly expected such kind words, but her lips quirked in a half smile and she gave a faint nod.
"It might hit hard, but I'm sure we can manage to avoid it with care." She turned to Aria "I'm fine."
In truth compared to the injuries of some she was barely brushed, she made sure to keep the spiderweb cracked orb hidden by her skirt.

Ceres kicked at a rock as she looked around. The little creature's question about her wish had caused her to think about her missing past. She didn't like worrying over things that she couldn't do anything about and right now there wasn't much she could do about her memories. Warily, Ceres kept an eye out for the shadow she had been fighting, or worse more like it. Whoever she had once been, Ceres suspected this wasn't her first fight, her body responded to easily to the actions of combat. "Not much to go on but at least it is keeping me alive and so far, relatively unharmed." Ceres spoke to herself as she finally thought she noticed someone in the near distance.
Ceres picked up her pace as she neared the red haired girl. Pausing a few steps away, she studied the other person a moment before deciding to speak. "So I take it you had the same fortunate luck to land in this place as well?" She asked, her tone more than a little dry. This new person seemed to have taken a bit more damage, or so it seemed. Ceres tilted her head ever so slightly, her crossbow having vanished again once she stopped using it. "My name is Ceres. I don't suppose you happen to remember why you are here, do you?" Her questions might seem blunt but she wasn't trying to be rude or unfriendly. However, Ceres didn't have a good feeling about how much time before something attacked her again.
Just as she finished the blow, something seemed to leave her. Her energy? That made sense, since she had a feeling she'd just dumped a fair amount into that attack. Though she still had more than enough energy left to fight.
Her feet moved, her weight shifted, and she readied her scythe for another blow. No, this was not over yet this was-- Her left foot caught on her right, and Ally went down.
She didn't even have time to register the fact that she'd tripped before the hits came. Stinging, slashing blows that ripped her clothing and her flesh. Ally scrambled and rolled, doing her best to put distance between her and the thing. As she did, she caught sight of blackness seeping away from her, almost like it was seeping out of her wounds. That didn't seem right.
Coming to a stop, Ally let her weapon disappear without thinking. The pain was intense, and she suddenly felt very drained. Oops.

Unfortunately, waiting for her weapons to come back to her left her wide open for attack with no way to defend herself. She knew it was a futile attempt, but Narcissa couldn't help but try to cover her head with her arms and turn away from it as the enemies tendrils lashed out at her.
"Ouch! Unng, dang it that burns." Narcissa hissed out as the tendrils hit across her back, wimpering a little from the burning sensations. She staggered forwards a few steps, legs feeling wobby and a little bit sick to her stomach. It didn't last long, but was enough to make the girl feel nervous about the damage she had taken. "Ok... lets see how bad this is..." She sighed, turning her head around the best she could to get a look at her back. Ok, so leaking black wisps was a bad thing, yes? Thankfully it wasn't burning as much anymore, but this was still worrisome.
She gave herself a quick once over to see if any other places had been damaged and noticed a bit of black seeping out of the pocket that she'd popped her little gem into as well. Carefully she reached in a pulled it out, feeling a tad bit of panic at the black cracks and wisps seeping out of it as well. "Well... pretty sure this confirms that these things are connected to us. Fun."

She stamped her foot, vibrating with anger. How dare it. How dare it deny her. When she yanked the chain, it should have fallen right back on its butt! And stayed trapped until she said so! That's how traps worked. Didn't it know anything?
Maybe she didn't even want it anymore.
Yeah, as a matter of fact, she was through with it. Completely done. She didn't even want it over here any more.
The trap was shaking too. Its metal teeth chattered with energy and anticipation. She held the end of the chain like a leash. Purple energy flowed off the bear trap in heavy, heated waves.
She turned a sharp pirouette, pointing, the fear dark and stifling. Her skirt and hair ruffled, lifted by some unseen force. The trap seemed to grow with each crashing bite, and she pirouetted again, and again, until she was a violet tornado tethered to a a set of gnashing metal teeth.
"Victory Breaker Kiss!"
She called, then let go of the chain.
It rampaged ahead, grazing Boxy and hurtling past him to gouge the ground.
Ursula, furious, chased immediately after it, planting her feet to try to dislodge it. There was a crystal lodged in its teeth.
