Finally the end was in sight. Davyne heaved a sigh and rested against the wall for a moment before straightening up and taking the last few steps in a quick stride - surely the lack of maiming so far was a good sign, yes? A loss of hearing was, considering the other things the Voice had put them through, quite benign, if not slightly impractical and hampering to teamwork. And hopefully it'd keep to only this and the way forward would not be so very difficult after all. Although that was likely to be a vain hope, she considered, with a slight quirk of her lips. If there was one thing she was sure of, it was that the Voice would not go quietly; nothing and no-one who'd gone to such great lengths as creating them for their own devices would, after all. At the very least she had trouble imagining such a thing occuring. "All I ever wanted was to find the True King, and get, the others still stand in my way. I have given them no harm, no trouble, I have waited this long, and my prize is to be betrayed by everything I embrace, again."The golden-haired woman paused, blinked and unconsciously clenched a fist. So that was what it thought, was it? No harm, no trouble - except the sentient beings it had created only to be puppets to its game. It may have been no harm to the Voice, but dozens of minds would be vanquished, disintegrated into the nothing they came from. And for what? Impatience? A tightening of the lips and Davyne was moving again, moving on from these stairs and away from where she'd heard the Voice. There really was nothing like an unsympathetic character to spur on the determination, was there? Quote: Exiting to floor two! Upon entering the Tower, Thackery had his head held so high with the confidence of the inevitable True King that he ran into the door. Literally. Wincing, he rubbed his chin and took a step back. When did that get there? Closer inspection of the door revealed some sort of inscription, which he read aloud. "Sacrifice all that you hear...easy enough!" It was an odd request, he thought, but The Voice could have asked for much stranger things, he supposed. He reached to pull open the door, slipping inside before it could shut on his tail. And then time stopped. No, wait. Not quite. Just sound had, exactly as the door had requested. He snapped his fingers next to his ears, and released a completely inaudible 'hm' when he couldn't hear that, either. What was done was done, though. No need to linger here when his rightful place on the throne was waiting. At least he wasn't carrying two small Violet citizens this time, Thackery considered thankfully. He didn't like stairs very much - such abrupt climbing, and so easy to trip over them. Inclines or winding corridors were far superior. He'd be sure to inform The Voice of that at some point. The Voice spoke, and it was a sweet sound upon Thackery's ears, until he realized what it was saying. His ears drooped. Had he misunderstood his purpose? What was it trying to tell him? "I-I would never," he choked out; though he couldn't hear his own words, he hoped it might. He hoped it would change its mind. Who had told it such a thing? Why had it begun to doubt him? He wrung his hands and peeked up the staircase, worried more about conquering his newfound nerves than the climbing ahead. He would just reach the top, and he could explain everything. There had just been a terrible misunderstanding. He was sure of it. As he continued his climb, he tried to piece a speech together, but anxiety tore it apart bit by bit. He didn't know what to say other than...this was wrong. It was incorrect, as much as he disliked admitting the fact that The Voice could eve be incorrect. He jumped and nearly slipped down all of the stairs when it spoke again. The irritation in its tone had only increased since last time. Maybe it hadn't heard him after all? "You have found him," he quietly whimpered, but if The Voice wasn't listening, it fell only upon deaf ears. ((Entering)) A little curious to what the door had said to when she read it, but Tori got her answer when entering she couldn't hear nothing at all even when stomping the floor to make sure it just wasn't in her head. Shrugging a little as there was nothing to do but continue forward and up, still her thought still lingered on what she truly was and still not liking the fact. Tori did have to wonder if they couldn't hear anything, would the Voice be able to hear them. She really didn't want to put that theory to test or at least not yet. This Tori did have to wonder what her real self did since she had no memories of anything but the ones of her kingdom and her books. The more she thought on it the more curious she got on all the things about her real self. The more that she thought on her real self the more down she began to feel empty that there was nothing to show that this Tori had lived and had a life even if it all was fake. But Tori did remember what the pillar had said that there was an ending. Or was that just fake too, growling look on her face since there was no sound to be heard. But she did continue forward just to see what the end would bring. While climbing those stairs Tori heard the Voice talking and it didn't sound all that happy. "Why don't you just shut up, you might have promised all of those things but in the end what you created was fake," Tori said even if it feel on deaf ears since she couldn't even hear what she said. But she had to wonder if the Voice could truly her them in its own tower. Tori grumped onward not happy with what the Voice had said. Not wanting to hear more about just how fake that she was since she already knew that and right now Tori didn't want to remember that fact. All she wanted was to try and make something of her existence permanent if she could. Tori did have to wonder to what the Voice could be hiding more that just the fact that she was just a fake could there be more to this than meets the eye. Well maybe that would be something else that could be discovered it possible up at the very top as that would be worth learning. But finally she had gotten up to the of the next floor to hear the Voice again, this time just really annoyed. Listening to what it had to say and she did have to feel for it just a little, but what got her confused to why was it say that it was happening again, but then it could just be the Voices on falt for trying to make its true king and just wait as good things come to those that wait. Oh well Tori thought continuing onward. (( Enter )) Merope kept to the center of the stairway, away from the other climbers. His staff assisted him with each step, acting as an unnecessary boost to propel himself forward. He would glance at those climbing together with others, a pang of envy snaking through him before he would drop his gaze to the floor in a stubborn refusal to acknowledge it. When he came to the door, he stopped to consider it. No one was making conversation with him, and he was already ignoring the soft hum of conversation from the other climbers. Merope approached the door, first moving to its side. He leaned his shadowy staff against it, stepping back to give it one last look before passing through the door. Climbing reminded him of home. Not Amityville. His real home in the depths of the sea. The monotony of climbing was a simple task, one that Merope sunk into easily while his gaze snapped back and forth between the climbers ahead and around him. And yet, home did not require climbing stairs in absolute silence. The dark depths had the soft pipping of bubbles, the warning whoosh of a current as something swam by quickly. The more he considered it, the more unlike home this was.
Merope was surprised at how homesick he was. Didn't he want to get away from all of that?

((Entering)) Getting to the first door, Adiyan was still nervous but still excited to be on this last adventure. He was alright too on giving up his hearing as if it let him continue on the so be it. Even tho it was a little hard knowing that there was no exit. But upward he went with a spring in his step. Humming to himself even tho he couldn't hear. But that didn't matter as he just wanted to know what type of ending he would get or would he even get one at all. Well lets do this all and go out with a bang he thought. The humming stopped when Adiyan heard the Voice and it didn't sound all that happy. Well he didn't care, "Why all this talk Voice come and destroy me if you can as that is a challenge," Adiyan growled back despite not being able to hear himself. A fight would be nice he thought for this adventure.
