Decapitation? Unlikely. The first zombie Kchain aimed to remove would simply raise his shield, the giant chunk of bronze meeting the blade head on. While matters of sharpness and quality were in the air, slicing through five raised shields and helmets with one swing was a tad over the top; at most one or two would perish if the blade could overcome the blunt metal, and then resistance would defeat momentum.
That angling plan wouldn't do much of anything though. The zombies still held their weapons, and even if they didn't, shoving them through his body would just put the spearheads further past the undead in the frontline, since they'd been extended so as to catch Kchain before he was on top of their comrade. About three frontline Spartans would've already dropped their spears and withdrawn short swords from their hips, going to work at their opponent's lower body, regardless of his incorporeal form. The tossed bottles would smash against more raised shields, possibly setting some small fires on the grass underfoot and the rotten flesh of a few zombies' legs, but nothing that wouldn't just be forgotten in a couple of seconds.
From the fourth row, ten more spears would be launched at Kchain's head and upper torso.
They weren't letting him go.

About 30 minutes north of Barton, 20,000 feet high in the sky, the battle-airship Vengeance, enveloped in dark, shadow clouds, glided along silently, closing in on its destination, its presence masked, for the most part. Onboard, High Priest Alexander Worthington, vampiric leader of the cult and of the necropolis (though those in the know knew who really pulled all the strings), sat in his windowless quarters in prayer. He wanted to personally foresee the capture and occupation of Barton Town. Reports that had been coming to him seemed to show the battle going on favorably, so the airship would only observe from high above for now, once they reached Barton, unless circumstances called for otherwise.
"Captain, we are in visual range," stated the helmsan on the bridge.
Sitting in the imfamous Captain's Chair was a gaunt corpse of a man, pallid skin pulled tight across his features. He had thin brown hair combed over to the side of what would've probably been a handsome face back when he was alive. He wore a yellow sweater and black slacks, sitting comfortable in his chair, leaning on his left elbow. He was a Necropolitan, an intelligent undead that's more or less the same as he was in life, only now undead - which also happens to be the title of all residents of Necropolita. Perhaps a better description would be a watered-down lich.
"Steady as she goes, Ensign," the captain ordered.

They weren't letting him go. KkttonnnnnnnnnnnnngThe sword, naturally, crashed into the shield, perhaps knocking the zombie over if you wanted to ambitious. The sword was nothing special, and lacked the presumably extreme qualities required to slice clean through a shield. It did, however, wedge itself into the shield, making it a pain to yank free. The thing about his body, and why the shields did nothing, was about to become apparent. With a flourish, he yanked his robe off, the fabric tearing audibly. Where one would expect to see pierced flesh, he had... nothing. Only an arrangement of metal pieces and bars, along with some sort of shotgun/pistol/SMG gadget. It would become glaringly obvious that this Kchain was nothing more than a puppet, hence why he was so covered up. Of course, there were no tangible strings attached. His gloved, wooden hand tugged the gun from it's holster, and anyone that wanted could get a better look at it. It looked like a semi-automatic shotgun, shrank to the size of a sidearm, even with a miniature magazine. Sword in right hand, gun in left, he fired off rounds into the heads of the parties attacking his legs. Even if they could lift their shields fast enough, if arrows could penetrate them, a shotgun round would have no trouble. He shot the zombie who's shield his sword was stuck in, and jerked the sword free, then made work of shooting the rest of the zombies who had spears in him. As for the flying spears, the majority of them just went straight through him, not having anything for them to resist'n'all. The spears aimed for his head pierced it, the sound of cracking wood and screeching metal emanating. Despite being a puppet, he still screamed, and emptied the rest of the magazine wildly into the lines, until the hollow clicking signalled the end of the round. Assuming he had hit each one only once, there would be sixteen dead Spartans total, but in likelihood, the number would be more like ten, possibly up to twelve. The puppet went limp, the sword dropping from it's hand.

In this case, with the opposition being defeated, there was nothing for her to do except show up at the aftermath. She was in the "battlefield" by now, and could ration "troops"-- about ten people, since she had so damn many-- to go and retrieve the body, if the Spartans weren't repeatedly stabbing and stomping it underfoot out of spite.
Though, the body wouldn't be brought to her at all. Something, something nagged in her mind that told her not to go near the thing in case it was able to explode. If it did, oh well, too bad, so sad. What's ten, but a drop in the bucket?
In the case that her living puppets were killed or otherwise unable to cart the thing off and dismantle it, then Descant would just call to he who was obviously in charge.
"Mind company?~"

--Meanwhile in Quote: *Saturation- When Ryugi reaches his natural fully charged energy level (14-20) turns of energy, his body is said to be saturated with elemental energy. When his body is saturated, a thick burning aura of red and orange energy flows around his body. This aura is incredibly hot and can burn any unshielded/unresistant opponent who comes into contact with it almost instantly. The temperature of said aura in its beginning stages alone is even hot enough to melt stone, and weaken most metals. The heat coming off of this aura can be directed and forced towards any direction Ryugi sees fit, and can allow him to fly using the force as propulsion. He can also use the energy of the aura and the combination of it with the heat to attack opponents and defend himself without wasting any energy in the process. However, the aura only has a direct attack radius of ten feet in any direction, limiting its effectiveness to close range only. *Ascension- Ryugi pushes his body and energy past its usual limits by charging himself with elemental power. This has no effect on his elemental attacks, but it ups all his base stats by 50% as he lets go of his inhibitions and fights with his full power against his opponent. *Light Manipulation- This technique allows Ryugi to call on light energy to form any number of solid objects for attack or defensive purposes, much like a shadow elemental, but using light energy instead. *Crystallization- This technique was gained from Ryugi's travels in the fire elemental plane. The fire element is forced into a solid crystal that is on par with the hardness and sharpness of diamond, and due to the intense heat and pressure within the crystals, they have massive cutting power. Even solid metal cannot withstand these crystals for long before it starts to succumb to the heat. If so chosen, the crystals can cut into a solid force, and then explode for massive damage to an opponent. -10 damage for each crystal exploded, can be created from ambient flame energy and energy from aura- Before the earthquake would begin, a thunderous pulse of energy would blast away the cloud of dust surrounding Ryugi's form. Energy would surge around his form as he pushed himself to his full power, and allowed his aura to erupt around him, the heat unfortunately causing Moonblade to turn into a crunchy bunch of charcoal, but that couldn't be helped. As his aura erupted, tiny crystals began to form in the heat and light, and started to swirl and swarm about his body. He gripped Ragnarok in hand and prepared to attack, but then he felt the ground beginning to tremble, and felt the magical pulse underneath his feet. Reacting quickly, he pulsed heat energy away from his feet, which moved him up into the air, and then, a bright disk of light energy formed up under his feet, providing him with a firm, stable platform to stand on as the seismic waves and destructive force ripped across the battlefield.

No place has fresh flower seeds like Barton Town does. Walter had given him such an odd list, and as his navy blue hair waved in the wind his eyes gently scanned over it. What was so special about these things anyway? Rosies and posies? They were all the same to him...with a steady gait made his way toward the East Gate of town. He wore a simple blue pinstripe vest with a black shirt beneath it, a matching pair of black slacks, and simple black boots. It was a warm day and so the sleeves of the shirt were rolled up to about his elbows. His right hand held the note, the hand entirely covered in a black leather glove, beneath which was a set of white bandages wrapping from beneath the glove and heading up beneath his sleeve. He sighed, looking from the small sheet of paper....and they met his eyes. Undead. The worst and the lowest of the abominations to the cycle of Life and Death. His right eye pulsed a bright white, he could see it...that disgusting and sickly green malignancy snaking its way through their bodies, infecting the courses with a sickly faux life. He didnt see men, women or children. He saw creatures they had become. His face tightened, solidify, as if something had just sucked the emotion from it. He was heartless, chilling...cold as death. Its appeared as if it was time for him to clock in. And death had come for these abominations. His right foot led his stance, his left slightly behind, and his body arched forward like a runner ready to kick off the starting block. Streaks of violet engulfed his boots filling igniting the runes sewn deep into the leather with a dark violet hue, and then without warning he was off. His form blasted forward with uncanny speed as jets from the propelled Maximos forward as if he had been launched out of a cannon. His body was a living streak of black and lavender rocketing at the nearest zombie in his sights. His flight just about three inches off the ground. Streaks of black ejecting from beneath his feet and staining streaks into the ground below. Know they enemy. One of the fundamental rules of combat. Mid flight, Maximos' right hand extended out to his side, a bolt of cloudy black rising from his right palm forming and shaping into something useful....something deadly. A solid steel black club. It was about 4ft long and 4inches around, and needless to say weighing in at about 73lbs, it was made for smashing. The Shadow abused his momentum to the extreme. Aiming to smash the nearest zombie across the midsection and smash him in half like a clay vase. His lift would slap onto the hilt of the club just below his right, making for an good two handed grip. His feet smacked the ground regardless of the strike, his upper body lurching forward as his feet skid a good foot or two. His arms, already leaned to the right immediately broke into a swing, aiming to take a second zombie with a baseball-esque strike to its midsection. He was sincerely hoping for a home run, though he didnt exactly stop to check how much distance he had cleared, only whether or not he had made viable "lethal" contact. Home run swings usually involve a fierce motion from the right to the left, and as his right arm came across his chest, it would release its grip from the hilt, his left hand following through with the swing. His hand slipped to the bottom of the hilt maximizing his range as he swung his upper body leftward making for a very wide arc, his eyes scanning down the length of the club hoping to take out at least one more rot before completing a 180. His left foot would slam down halting his motion cold. The tip of he club smacking the concrete with a loud thud. He could smell them...whats worse he could feel that dark, unlife coursing through them. If his count was right, he was just about at the center of this mess. His cold eyes scanned left and right Soul Sight peering through simple barricades and walls, he knew there were more....there are always more. Quote: - Soul Sight - Animus Os The name itself is mostly self explanatory. Soul sight is the ability to see spirits, ghosts, and spiritual energies that would normally be invisible to the naked human eye. The images are filtered into colors and shapes by the brain so that Maximos can better understand and read what he is seeing. Which is to say, while Maximos may see a streak of red in someone's soul and see it as anger. Someone else may see a streak of black, and make that association with anger.
Through Soul Sight, Maximos can determine which emotions a person is feeling, whether they have recently fed on another soul, there general health both physical and mental, whether they have recently experienced life, death, or even had there virginity taken or not. He can even read the difference in certain species by there soul.
Soul Sight may also be used to track an individual who was currently feeling a strong emotion by following the lingering trail left by that emotion. Similarly if a person is filled with an emotion while performing an action, or launching a projectile, a sort of trail is left in the spirit world marking that occurrence for a short period of time. Similarly, much like infrared, Soul Sight can allow for the slight sight of a person's existence behind physical barriers. Maximos is known for closing his eyes during a fight, and still being able to fight just fine. His eye lids do not present a large enough barrier, while an entire building would.
Through Soul Sight Maximos can communicate with ghosts, or other ambient spirits, giving him a nearly endless amount of talking companions.
As it stands, Maximos' right eye is a blank white, as it is currently and permanently engaged in soul sight. Leaving his left to see the physical, the two combine to give Maximos a view of both planes at the same time.

Both swings sent a zombie flying, the second sailing through the air and snapping in half as it bounced off a telephone poll. A black wave of negative energy suddenly washed over the area. The zombies should have been done for after receiving such brutal strikes, but they got right back up, their aggression turned toward their attacker. Moving around from a side street, floating a few inches above the air, a seven-foot tall construct made of jet black unreflective steel. The shadesteel golem set its eyes on Maximos, hovering in the middle of the street.
"It's about time someone came along. I was beginning to wonder if we were being ignored. Not that I minded. Gave me time to do what I wanted, like increase the size of my own force!"
The necromancer stood atop a rooftop of a building facing Maximos. The doors and windows around Maximos suddenly exploded into the streets as hordes of zombies came lurching out, mobbing toward him. They were citizens of Barton, murdered and raised as the damned.
"TEAR HIM APART!"
He had been busy.

Fun fact: In Medieval times sappers would tunnel under castle walls. If the cavity they created under the massive stone walls didn't collapse them, they'd herd in swine. Pigs swabbed with oil and set alight trapped in the tunnels.
Oil and pig fat would burn hot enough to damage the masonry above it and collapse the wall. This was before Dwarves came around and started making new and interesting ways to make an entrance to a castle.
So what do Dwarves, siege pigs, several tons of wood and steel, and a cannon have in common? The Wild Hog Cannon.
The size of a double-decker bus held eight feet off the ground by four peggy legs that looked uncannily like a boar made of wood and metal. With the exception of a large, rigid dorsal spine along it's back. It was coming in from the north at a trot nearing twenty miles per hour. Getting closer to Barton Square, anyone with sense to look would notice the giant pig statue coming down the road in the distance-- the entire road.
Inside the massive contraption a white-haired dwarf sat in a center seat just behind the pig's jaws. Piloting by eye through slats built into the lower jaw. Clad entirely in platemail with both hands on levers; pulling and yanking in rhythm with the machine's steps.
"'ole lotta people up ahead. Think this is where he said he would be?"
Dvalinn craned his head back and peered over his shoulder into the poorly lit cabin in the belly of the beast. And while massive in size, the space inside that wasn't filled with gears and other moving parts was rather cramped. Relatively speaking.
Built by a Dwarf for a Dwarf. Anyone over 5'2" would be entirely unable to stand upright.

He didnt turn to face his would be attacker. Not yet at least. His eye shone like fire...they were everywhere...crawling in the buildings, and streets. The sight was disgusting. His face slowly turned toward the Golem revealing the splatter of zombie juices across his face and parts of his clothes. From the outside, one would think he was one of them. His face held no life, no emotion, no real reaction. There was magic pulsing through this man, but not nearly enough to cause all this havoc, not alone. It is your time...He said, in an empty and yet strong tone just a second before the windows shattered apart and the legions of the undead poured through. He was not disgusted, not held back. No swayed by the faces of the mangled Barton Town citizens, this was work...and his work was dirty. His right arm extended out to his side, a swirl of black immediately overtaking it. Four distinct tentacles ethereally rose from the center of his cursed limb, wrapping themselves around it, fully awakening the beast which forever lay at his side. The tendrils, pressed down his sleeve and covered his bandaged arm, almost immediately hardening into a gauntlet of dulled black metal. His limb looked less like and arm and hand, and more like a monstrous metal attachment with a talon in tow. With a flick of his left the club was passed to his right arm. The metal digits letting of an shrill grinding noise as they reached around the weapons hilt. In a gust of black he was off, another burst from his boots carried him away from the shambling hordes with incredible speed and directly at the localized heart of this mess. The man...the monster...the necromancer. He would sore across the relatively small distance with his right hand out to his side up until he was in range, at which point he would latch on with his left to deliver his intense strike, directly for his target. Or more specifically, his target's mount. He aimed to deliver a powerful pounding hit to the chest, and or upper torso of the metal man, with more than enough power and momentum to send it soaring back on its dull metal rump. Quote: - Cursed Hand of the Twilight Soul - Maledicto Manus de Crepusculum AnimusOnly useable in Human Form. Maximos's right arm is covered with a single very large array burned into his flesh. When asked he states it was an accident, and the row of bandage soaked in black underneath his sleeve confirms the story. An accidental Lunoc experiment, left Maximos' right hand scarred. The rune present bleeds black as it hungers. Deep beneath the flesh, the arm has transformed into something entirely else. Maximos' bones in his right arm are stained black and coated shadow steel. The metal placed in flesh makes the limb very...displeasing. With his bare hand Maximos is able to release, or absorb energy from souls around him, and either channel it into an attack meant to stun or ever sever the life force flow in ones body, or use it with supreme effort to permanently shut down, or remove a soul, and deliver it to the Reapers for processing. The arm has been know to ache uncontrollably at times, and it is believed constantly aches, though Maximos hides it quite well beneath the glove and bandages. Crepusculum Macies | Twilight Gauntlet - Once awakened, usually by contact with blood or by Maximos' own will, the arm forges a black shadow gauntlet around Maximos' right arm. The tendrils seen lashing out, each lay down around the limb, squishing the sleeve and creating the piece of armor. The gauntlet is armed with talon like fingers, and infused with superhuman strength. Though only in the one arm. Maximos while in total may only be able to dead lift 200lbs, can dead lift up to 650lbs with his right arm alone.

THUNK.
The force of Maximos' strike pushed the golem back several feet, but did absolutely no damage. It didn't feel pain, didn't even acknowledge the attack. Being a construct made it immune to drain-effect attacks, and most kinds of magic didn't affect it at all. Being made of shadesteel, it was like trying to harm a fire elemental with a Flametongue. Had it been damaged prior, that damage would now have been healed. Suffice it to say, all Maximos accomplished was shoving the construct back. It retaliated swiftly, air-dashing in quickly with an uppercut with its right claw to rake Maximos vertically along his chest and face with enough force to make him airborne. And the zombies would be there to catch him, if the blow struck, already swarming around him, reaching out hungrily.

TOWN SQUARE
The skeletal knight swatted aside the charred corpse of Alpha, falling to the ground and still sizzling, running back in to join the melee along with the other undead. There were multiple casualities as a result of the necromancer's Earthquake, with many of them falling into the cracks and dying horribly when they closed back up. Much of the square was now in ruin, and the area immediately around Ryugi was now burning from his intense aura. No word what happened to Vi. Ahzrael was all but forgotten about at this point with Ryugi making his appearance so known, and with the tavern group now joining the battle, there were twice as many foes for him to deal with.
All forces were directed against Ryugi. Both shadesteel golems hovered on either side of him, assaulting him with a double negative wave pulse, which further healed any damaged undead around them while draining away at his life force. This would enable the combined undead hordes of both groups to swarm Ryugi at full strength. Both necromancers rained spells down on him, one pelting him with giant icy hailstones while another attempted to wither him down with a ray of enervating energy. The drow emerged from the alleyway, their quarry stolen from them, supposedly too much for the healer and her friend to handle alone.

Maximos was already airborne. He was quite satisfied with the gonging sound of his hit connecting. But something was quite wrong, there should have been a massive dent in the meta construct golem but instead it looked entirely healthy. Maybe even a little more than healthy, a few of the bullet holes from the local police had popped back out... He could feel the tap, when he touched it. Something connected in a way it was never meant to. It was as if he could hear the armor, the same way he could hear shadows, only the voice of that construct was so far away and buried even he could never hope to reach it. But at the same time, he could never hope fell the "thing", like this. And it would most certainly get in the way should he head directly for the necromancer. He needed to dispatch it and quick... A 7ft golem casts a large shadow, and the shadow immediately found itself swept off the ground. And used to engulf Maximos' right arm, as he hovered just about 3ft above the shambling crowd. Quote: Magnus Atra Manus - Otherwise known as the big black hand. When either dipped into a large shadow or when filled with sufficient energy, the Twilight Gauntlet is able to increase it size greatly. The arm has able to extend to over twice its length, while the hand appears to be that if a metal giant. In this form the Twilight Gauntlet's strength doubles giving it a maximum dead lifting weight of 1,300lbs. His right hand shot forward as it expanded, growing in size, strength, and ferocity, bearing down on the shadesteel construct below with crushing force. The golem was only 7 inches taller than Maximos himself the arm should have easily been able to wrap around its midsection and halt it in place before it could reach the Shadow. Its sharpened, talons would reach around the beasts frame, giving him a firm grip on it, the sort of grip one might see a child give one of its action figures. What with elongated fingers reaching around its shoulders, hips, and sides. The grip would only last for a moment as Maximos jerked his body to the side. His boots sputtered and eventually gave, under the combined weight of Maximos and the Golem. His feet stealing ground, just as it was being eaten away at all sides. Grrrrraaaaah!!He shouted, as his feet dug into the ground, and his arm jerked right with superhuman strength. Beads of sweat pouring around his face. Aiming to tow the golem to the side, and with a snap of the giant wrist send it soaring direct at the Necromancer up on his rooftop perch. If he couldnt destroy it, he would use it as a nice black metal projectile. As a nice side effect, a wide sweep such as the kind a 6ft long arm would create, would likely clear aside a good number of the shambling hordes attempting to rip him to shreds. Hopefully, that would give him some breathing room. At the very least, if it missed its target the golem itself shouldnt be a problem any longer.

The drow emerged from the alleyway, their quarry stolen from them, supposedly too much for the healer and her friend to handle alone. [18] Well... That wasn't good. Ryugi's brain quickly analyzed the situation. Outcome, not so good. Odds, 20/1. Two massive golems, two necromancers, and a host of other minions all dead set...or undead set?...on killing him. That, and there were hostages to worry about, limiting Ryugi's attacking options. At least they were behind him against the fountain. He felt the pulses of energy from the golems, marking that they were getting ready to attack. He didn't like that empty voiding feeling he got from them... He jumped back, nearly being hit by the negative energy waves, the positive holy energy that was inside his aura diffusing what little remained before it could do any real damage. He tallied the numbers, and looked back to see nearly 15 hostages behind him at the fountain, as he shifted his aura so the full force of it was aimed away from the hostages. He couldn't fight when the hostages were right in the middle of his attacks... As he landed, the hailstones and beam flew at him. He allowed the full brunt of his aura to attack in front of him, melting the icy chunks before they could cause any real harm to him, or the people behind him. And as the beam came at him, he lowered Ragnarok straight towards the beam, a pulse of energy forming at the blade's tip, the energy bending and flowing around Ryugi and the hostages as the people screamed. Ryugi gritted his teeth as he parted the attack and yelled to the hostages. GET MOVING!!! I'll protect you as long as I can!! Quote: *Flame Cannon- Fires a giant ball of flames from the tip of his sword, medium to high damage -damage dependant on energy absorbed, 1 turn charge for each additional set of 100 damage- Ryugi placed a two charges of energy into his attack and the blast shot forward into the group of skeletons and zombies, detonating among their ranks for shearing damage and concussive wounds. As the blast exploded, the hostages would already be making a run for it as Ryugi jumped backwards over the fountain to protect them as they headed North, running as fast as they possibly could. [16]

Too bad shadesteel golems weigh 1,500 pounds.
Regardless, it wasn't going to just float there and allow Maximos to hit it. Nor was its master. As his claw wrapped around the golem's slim frame, at which the golem would be tearing at his arm with its sharp claws, the necromancer had a wand aimed down at Maximos. A bolt of lightning shot out of the tip of the wand to strike him square in the chest as he grabbed the golem, straining to lift it and hurl it toward the necromancer. That is, if Maximos was even able to lift 200 additional pounds over his maximum limit and throw it to good affect. The golem emitted its negative wave pulse; negative energy bursting from its form in a 40-foot spread. If Maximos wasn't protected against its draining effect, he would find himself weakened, and the undead closing around him would be refreshed to full strength, if they weren't already.
How far could someone hurl something 200 pounds over their maximum limit that could levitate though? Zombies in the front rows of the closing mob would be tossed aside, but the affect of the pulse would save them most of the damage. There were still others though, who would close in and pounce upon him once the golem was released (if he didn't go flying back from being struck by lightning), attempting to mob and pile upon him, and use their numbers to overwhelm him. The construct would sail through the air for a moment, then slow down, stop, and drop down to a few inches above the ground.
