Sebastian Courtney told them the roof was the best vantage point. Sebastian glanced over at Noah, who said he needed to get something from his room. He left, and returned only a few moments later. "Ready?" Sebastian asked, leading the way out of the treehouse. He wasn't entirely sure how to access the roof, but it couldn't be too difficult. "Good night, and thanks again." He spoke to Courtney, not sure if she would be going to sleep, or staying up with them. He figured she would be going to sleep.
Sebastian located a ladder that led to the roof, and climbed up it, settling down on the rooftop. Courtney was right; The view from up here was spectacular, even if it was night time. There was a gap in the trees, which revealed a clear view of the city in the distance. Sebastian took a deep, relieving breath, and stretched back. "So.." He said to Noah, who had the bird perched on his shoulder. Sebastian grinned. "What's your story?"

Coraline sighed and saw a frown on Xavier's face. She looked at the floor thinking how are they going to get the supplies. She knew the plastic ones were going to rip, so she tried to think of another bag or object to put the supplies in. Coraline lifted up her head and looked at the front door, ignoring the undead trying to break through the door, she saw 3 little hand baskets. Coraline's eye's widened and she pointed at the baskets. "There's 3 hand baskets over there by the door. We might be able to use those."Coraline got up and looked around for her shotgun. Soon she found it by the dog bags and picked it up. She started to walk but still had caution, her hand on the trigger just in case one of them breaks in. Coraline grabbed two baskets and Xavier took the last one. They went back to the place they were sitting and Coraline checked the baskets to make sure they weren't broken.

Miza The Cycle brings Pain, Pain brings life, Life brings joy, Joy brings hope… As intelligent as Icarius was, he had little common sense when it came to these creatures. He kept comparing them to animals, cats and tigers in his most recent example, and it simply wasn’t the case. She was going to correct him, but he’d already head to the back to find a map. Miza was pissed. She wasn’t sure why, but she sure as hell knew at who. What baffled her was that back in Aliji, even after Marduk had been reintegrated, she’d had more than enough self control to keep herself from getting too angry, unless she’d been drafting a lot of red recently. “They’re not animals damn it,” she stared saying to herself, but loud enough that the others could probably hear, not that she meant for them to. “Animals aren’t creatures of pure instinct, they learn and adapt. These creatures are more akin to single celled organisms, they don’t have minds to think with, the simply use the brain of the infected organism to fire electrical impulses to control them.”
She realized she was thinking out loud and stopped. Then her stomach growled some more and she sighed and hung her head. In her current state she was useless, and she knew it.
…Hope brings disappointment, Disappointment brings failure, Failure brings death, Death brings the cycle. ((Sorry about not replying Punky, it just wasn't much to reply to and I was waiting for Wingtip to post be cause Miza and Icarius seem ot be having a feud xD ))

Icarius ignored the little puff-ball that seemed to be talking to herself and tried to ignore Xavier for sanity's sake. He could not believe they were going to go OUTSIDE to get their supplies. They were in a supermarket, and odds are that they didn't completely loot the place so that it was barren. They could grab the few things they needed before getting out of here. Icarius was not going to help them retrieve their supplies, because he wasn't on a suicide mission. He actually wanted to live through this strange time period and then get the hell home (as unlikely as that was).
Getting to the office, Icarius looked around for a floormap for the building, and found a fire escape plan which served his purpose for the moment. He analyzed the map for a moment before he located stairs and started making his way towards them. He held his spear firmly in his left hand as he ascended the stairs into a small storage area that would lead to the roof and everything was much too still for his liking. He scarcely breathed as he made his way quietly to the roof hatch and opened it slowly; though the hinges creaking was unbearably loud in the deafening silence that surrounded him.
Icarius got onto the roof and saw a few more bodies that seemed to have been dead more recently than the ones downstairs. Around them were remnants of supplies and what looked to be a place for a fire. Icarius didn't seemed moved by the pitiful sight, though, and shoved his spear through their heads, up from their necks, just to make sure they wouldn't come back and bite him in the a**.
He looked around before going over to the front of the building and sure enough, the crowd of zombies were still there, though a few seemed to be mindlessly going around the building, though Icarius thought they were looking for a way in. There were no buildings close enough to profit from to get away, but Icarius was certain that now that they had a vantage point, they might be able to track the zombies and their movements, which would make any attempt to get away much safer.
Heading back downstairs with his freshly bloodied spear, Icarius walked over to those who were barricading the door and said, "I've found a way to get on the roof, so we could potentially make a break for it if we know where the zombies are. Prometheus sent me the route to the military base and we should get moving as quickly as possible in order to get there before the next nightfall." He was mainly addressing the humans when he said this.
(( sure, I'm sick for one day and get a bajillion posts @_@ It's a good thing Icarius just kind of buggered off xD ))

Lucius Cypher ۩════════════════════════۩ "Where there is Distress, therein lies a Story. Where there is a Story, therein lies a Will. Where there is a Will, therein lies a Soul." ۩════════════════════════۩ Lucius said nothing as he silently followed the white haired woman. Did he get her name yet? Or anyone? He didn't remember, and right now, perhaps it didn't matter. He shifted the piece of metal around his body and slithered behind her. Oddly enough, he made no sound, aside from the occasion bump with the metal he was holding. He could smell the zombies near, and this made him antsy; he knew they where around, but he couldn't tell what they where doing, be it just wondering around or stalking them. While he had little to worry about for his safety or the safety of others, he would still rather not involve himself in a mass melee. They tend to end poorly for those involved. He had some questions to ask, of both the white haired woman and of the strange creature; the one who may be called Verra. But he kept those questions to himself; the white haired woman said not to make themselves too noticeable, and speaking might attract careful listeners. After all, in the world where the dead walk, the dead aren't the only ones doing the killing. ((I apologize for my disappearance. There some... Contents that needed to be explored. That, and I'm also currently out of country, and somewhat part from internet access.))

"I don't," Natalie began, startled, before she forced herself to stop. Once again, she purposely shoved aside the negative emotions threatening to overwhelm her. She almost paused on the steps but instead kept charging up them without looking back at Emmerah.
"If only you could!" she joked weakly. "During a zombie apocalypse, that would be a pretty great, uh, talent."

I don't know if it'll come up the stairs, but lets hurry..." She looks up, just a little longer.. She can actually hear th choppers off in the distance.

Fumi silently followed the three for a while, Barthomolew leading the party, Sydelle and her troll in the middle, and Fumi sort of bringing up the rear. It felt like Bartholomew didn't even realize that they were following him. Fumi noticed that he tended to go off in his own little world often. After a bit, he turned and blinked, as if just noticing the three behind him. His eyes flickered to the poorly patched wound in Fumi's calf, and he offered to carry her, commenting that he didn't like the amount of blood coming up.
Fumi blushed and shook her head. "No, no, it's alright. It's not bleeding all that much anymore..." She stared down at her calf. Blood had soaked through the cloth and turned the white cloth a dark red. "Sort of."
But by then, Bartholomew's attention had already switched to Sydelle, so Fumi lapsed into silence and listened to Sydelle explain what she did before the whole zombie thing. She wasn't surprised the woman dealt in the black market. She sort of seemed the type. Sort of explained her not-so-friendly attitude, and the troll that was at her beck and call.

Xavier ignored the dispute that Icarius and Miza seemed to be having. Instead, he turned his attention on Coraline, who pointed out a couple of hand baskets over by the doors. Xavier studied them, and saw that they probably wouldn't be of much use, as far as holding their supplies efficiently, especially if they got into another brawl with the infected. Xavier began searching for something else to use.
While he was searching, Icarius returned from the back and said he found a way to the roof. Xavier breathed a sigh of relief. He glanced back over to the doors which were barricaded shut. The infected continued to relentlessly scrape and pound at the doors. They didnt seem to be making much progress. And it was amusing, in a twisted way, watching them mindlessly stumble over each other, apparently very hungry.
After a short thinking session, Xavier abandoned the idea of going back out to get the supplies. "Look. I don't think we should risk going back out there. It's too dangerous, and we have to get to that military base as soon as possible." Xavier spoke to the group, hoping he sounded like he had at least an ounce of knowledge in what he was saying. "Let's scavenge what's left in here, and then we need to climb to the roof, and... we'll just go from there. K?"

Got her Emmerah hid a grin behind one of her pale, delicate looking hands. She opened her mouth "Well, I can.." She began, but at that moment the other girl ran up the staircase and told them to hurry. Another time She made a small, disappointed sound and then continued to "walk" calmly, but quickly, up the flight of stairs that would supposedly get the three to the rooftop.

Coraline sighed in relief about that Icarius found a way to the roof. But once Xavier said about forgetting the food she sighed again and put the baskets down. She nodded at Xavier,"I think that's a good idea. But we took all the good items in here into our baskets."As she looked around the store and saw very few of supplies. Coraline looks at Icarius,"so when do we leave?"she hopes soon, so they don't have to stay a minute longer in that store.

Icarius nodded slightly towards Xavier and looked to Coraline as she responded. "Take what you can carry, and that's all. Anything that slows us down is not worth having," he said affirmatively before he took off his helmet to look at them once again. He showed them the fire escape map from inside his hoodie pocket. He pointed to the entrances with a small frown and studied the plans further for a moment.
"Our best bet would be to leave the office doors, but we need a look-out on the roof to tell us of the zombies' movements. We need to communicate somehow to those on the roof and those of us that will be making our escape," he said, and noted the wings on Miza's back before raising his eyebrow. "You could scout from the roof for us, and assuming you can fly, will be able to meet us on the ground without a problem. We'll then start heading towards the military base and meet up with Prometheus and his new 'friends'."
Icarius didn't seem to keen on waiting much longer to leave this place. He seemed to be jealous of Prometheus' company, or at least suspicious, and he didn't want to leave his partner out in the infected world with people that he didn't even know yet. He did not think they were trustworthy, but that was probably because he had no idea who these people were.
(( I'll just not wait anymore, lol ))
