Jonathan steps on board the ship and pulls out his ship manifest, noting the addition of a bookshelf and books to the storage records. He quickly pockets the eight dubloons he recieved from the dockmaster for his share and Cosette's. He'll eventually give them to her when they meet again. The officer notes a new face aboard the ship, a red-haired beauty leaning against the railing, and nods to her in acknowledge before going back to his manifest.

Alexandra turns her head toward the sound of footsteps and spots oddly familiar face but she couldn't be sure. She purses her lips while her eyebrows furrows, she nods her head lightly in return. Some of her fire red hair falls out of the ponytail so she chose to pull the string out, freeing all of her hair and Alexandra walks over to Jonathan and clears her throat. "Sir, are you one of the officers of this shop?" She says in her natural husky voice.

Jonathan puts the book away and stands facing the young red-haired girl. "Aye, I am," he says with a smile. "I am the resident Quartermaster and Tactician aboard the Dementia." He held out his hand in greeting. "How may I be of assistance?"

Alexandra extends her hand out to grasp his hand in a handshake. "I am Alexandra Hunter and I would love to join this ship, sir. May you tell me what I have to do to join the crew of the Dementia?" She gently says while her golden green eyes up at Jonathan questioningly as a small smile plays on her lips. Alexandra always have learned that it is better to be polite and distant because it protects herself from any possible harm.

Jonathan raises his eyebrow at her name, finding it strangely familiar. Still, he needed to be professional as a part of the crew to a new prospective ship's girl. "I can see about signing you aboard the ship," he speaks, taking out his ships manifest and a quill, opening it to the crewlog page and showing it to her. "Just sign your name here, and I'll make sure the captain recieves it. Do be a dear, however," he points to the previous page, "and read the ship's articles. If you are unable to read, I will read them for you."

Alexandra purses her lips as she examines Jonathan closely without being too obivious about this. "Thank you very much for assisting me with this, sir." She says politely before she takes the articles. "I can read, I used to have this fiance who taught me how to read." Alexandra says in offhand voice while her golden green eyes moves from Jonathan's handsome face to the words on the paper, scanning everything over before she plucks the quill, signing the name just exactly way she signed the note she written to Jonathan ages ago.

Jonathan nods and takes the quill and book back from her, only glancing at the name before looking back up at her. "So what are you good at?" he says with a wink, studying her figure. "Would you be more comfortable with the cannons, up in the rigging, or scrubbing the barnacles off the deck and hull? Do a good job, and you could be promoted to a less-objectional position." He puts the book back in his jacket. "You can take any empty hammock in the crew commonhold to sleep in."

Alexandra crosses her arms against her flat stomach while she slants her bright eyes toward Jonathan. "I am good with anything. But I prefer to be up in the riggings." She simply says before she turns her head toward the water and smiles lightly to herself. "Ahh... I think I will sleep outside..I am not comfortable with sleeping in the same room with strangers or crewmates I haven't met" She calmly says as she looks up in Jonathan's eyes. "You remind me of someone I knew before." She says boldly.

Jonathan shrugs and grins. "I've been most everywhere. Paris, London, the Ottoman city of Athens..." he says with a smirk, "I'm sure you might have seen me somewhere." He continues studying Alexandra's figure. She was definately his type.

Alexandra smiles lightly as she looks at him. "Do you know a guy that goes by the name of Jonathan Graves? I heard he made his appearance here and I have some business to handle with him. You look like him, sir." She tilts her head to side and narrows her eyes slightly to scruntize Jonathan's face. Her eyes do not dare to escape his face and travel down his body because she already did some of the "studying" when Jonathan was handling his business.

Jonathan chuckles and nods. "Aye, I have heard of him. Matter of fact," he says thinking to himself (or appearing to), "I believe he was in town buying gifts for his new fiancee." He points toward the wooden shops in the distance. "If you leave now, you might find him in a jeweler's or an import shop."

Alexandra's eyes widen slightly before there were swirl of different kind of emotions raging on behind her now expressionless golden green eyes. A smile fades away from her face and she bites down on her lower lip, chewing on it indicating that she is upset. "Ah no... I do not want to distrupt his life now, sir but thank you for letting me know.." She says as she turns her head away, brows furrowing while she tamps back tears that unexpectedly rose up to her eyes.

Cosette smiled softly to herself as her fingers twined around the rigging and she leaned over the railing to watch the waves lap against the hull. Right now they where in the harbor, what would it be like with the sails full of wind, when a storm hit, when the swells of the ocean tide where all that she could see.
The young woman lightly tilted her head and smiled to herself, how odd that she would wonder these things and yet find beauty in it as well. Perhaps the sea had at last entranced her, for they say when that happens once can never leave it. Once you become one with the sea you are doomed to ride the waves, forever feeling the salty spray against your face until at last the sea claims you as one of its own.
Standing near the bow, alone against the rigging Cosette reached into the pocket of her apron and pulled out the most prized possesion she had, and her little secret. A secret no one knew, not even those she cared for.
In her small hands rested a very worn hand crafted reed flute. Its holes where crudely dug out with a kitchen knife but its tone was true...Cosette had seen to that through the many failed attempts before this one. This was her crowning achivement.
Bringing the flute to her lips she closed her eyes and leaned back against the rigging, the corners of her lips lightly curled into a smile as her lithe fingers began to play.
The haunting tone floated on the wind as the melody that flowed from her washed over the ship like the waves itself. It was not a framilure tune that any would recignise for it was one Cosette had written herself, long ago. Mornful and haunting like the song of a siren.
Cosette let herelf fly, letting the song lead where it may, perhaps this would be a new variation of a very old peice...

Jonathan nods to the young girl. "I will see what the captain says about your lodging," he says, pointing up. "We do not allow anyone to sleep under or on the rigging. Too dangerous." He takes the hand of the girl and kisses the back of it gently with a slight bow, "If you excuse me, I have charts to study while I wait for the return of Kruel." And with that, he left Alexandra and walked into the captain's cabin, sitting down in a nearby chair and waiting for his second love to return.

Alexandra slants her eyes toward Jonathan not knowing that it was a guy she used to love and was arranged to marry but he left her at the altar crying her eyes out. She bites down on her lower lip as her cheeks pinkens with a blush when she looks at him. "Mmmmm.. all right, sir." She mumurs before she waits for few seconds, debating with herself. Should she go in and seduce this officer to spite Jonathan or just walk away with feeling of depression? Alexandra have made her mind up as she tugs her sleeves down even more, her clevage is pushed up by small corset and is threatening to spill out. She ruffles her red hair to make it look saucy and sultry while she sashsays in the cabin. "Sir.." She says in soft and husky voice.
